Chapter 1155

Chapter 1155 Unrelated to My Dad

"Drag your ass here," Kaze said again with a stoic face.

Holding back the pain, Noah dragged himself across the floor toward Kaze.

Without Kaze prompting, he rose to his feet and brought his face closer to Kaze.

"Smack!*

Kaze landed his palm on Noah's face, and the latter was knocked over.

"Drag your ass here."

The hallway to the emergency room was packed with people.

Silence befell the place.

Kaze kept telling Noah to come closer, and he was sent flying each time.

The scene was caught in a loop.

However, everybody knew that Noah willingly took a beating from Kaze.

Noah's face was black and blue from the repeated bashing. He could not even find the strength to crawl his way to Kaze.

Kaze strolled toward Noah and looked at him from above.

"I thought you were dismissed from your position as the senior officer at the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Who reinstated you? Your dad?" Kaze asked tauntingly.

Noah lifted his head with a struggle and looked at Kaze. "No. It wasn't my dad. I didn't get my job back.

"Not many know that I was sacked. I am a proud man, so I just try to keep up with appearances."

Miriam's eyes widened with rage.

She got to where she was in the hospital administration by getting cozy with the right people. Miriam did not earn the job by merit. She did not care about the swift in the local council.

It had been days since Noah's termination, but those aware of the information worked in the local government. Miriam heard nothing of that sort.

It never occurred to her that the two individuals she called for help were in hot water.

Pierce was suspended.

Noah was the worst. He was full of hot air.

Things were too much of a coincidence.

Miriam looked at Kaze with seething rage. The guy would not even look back at her.

She wanted to find a hole in the ground to hide in.

"It has nothing to do with my dad, Mr. Lee.

"If he finds out that I've been going around blowing my horn about working at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, he's going to kill me," Noah pleaded.

He was happy to take all the hits from Kaze, but his father needed to stay out of the mess.

Once Lou's career was ruined, his family would be done for.

Heck, his father might even skin him alive.

*So your dad doesn't know at all?" Kaze asked indifferently.

Noah shuddered, wishing he could tear his heart out to show Kaze he was telling the truth.

"He really doesn't know, Mr. Lee. If my dad finds out I upset you again, he will disown me. He won't bat an eye even if you kill me.

"I swear on my life that I'm not lying." Noah wailed.

*Alright. I'll believe you for now."

Kaze nodded offhandedly, unbothered to get to the bottom of it.

Lou was an honest man working under him, so Kaze did not want to push the situation out of hand.

Kaze walked back and glanced at Miriam before saying nonchalantly, "Aren't you supposed to honor your side of the bargain and beg me for mercy, Ms. Loop?"

Miriam's face contorted.

Kaze's words struck a nerve in her.

She said through clenched teeth, "Dream on, jerk. Who do you think you are? Why should I kneel to you?" *Smack!*

Kaze smacked the woman to the ground.
