Chapter 51
Chapter 51: Surrender
*Riley*
I could have never dreamed that I could share something so intimate, so utterly unexpected with someone like Nicolas. I never even knew I had such strong desires.
I could feel the heat flooding my cheeks the moment I remembered how I had pulled his hair last night. The way I had rocked my cli against his lips with raw abandon. I could hardly believe I had done that.
Nicolas awakened something in me that I didn’t even know was in there. I didn’t know I was capable of such desire, of such passion. And now, with everything that’s been going on, I couldn’t have asked for a better partner by my side.
Even though he had those moments of jealousy, I wouldn’t want to have him any other way.
But after last night, I don’t feel as ready as I did yesterday to let him go. Looking at him now, his eyes closed, his arm on my thigh, I wanted this moment to last forever. Still, I knew he had to go. I didn’t like it, but I accepted it.
I decided that I was going to be the best partner he could ever ask for

by being as supportive as possible. And I should start by helping him pack. Knowing Nicolas, he would just shove a couple of random stuff into his bag. This is why he needs me.
I shifted in bed, the warmth of his hand on my thigh sending shivers down my spine. As much as I wanted to stay in this moment forever, I knew I had to start my day. Reluctantly, I gently pushed his hand off and pulled his shirt over my head. It smelled like him- musky and comforting. He didn’t need this shirt anymore. It smelled too much like him, I couldn’t let him take it with him.
Silently, I slipped out of bed, hoping he wouldn’t stir. But as soon as my feet hit the floor. I heard his drowsy voice call out for me.
“Come back to bed,” I heard his sleepy voice say.
Well, that was useless. I laughed despite myself. It was nice to know that he liked having me in his arms. “You can’t stay in bed forever, you have to leave soon,” I reminded him, trying not to give in to the temptation of crawling back into bed with him.
He sat up, running a hand through his messy hair. Even in this disheveled state, he looked different from the big, bad, dominant alpha I first met. His muscles were relaxed and there was a sleepy yet content smile on his face. I couldn’t resist staring at him as he stretched his toned arms above his head.
“You look like you want to come back to bed,” he teased.

“Don’t tempt me,” I replied playfully, feeling a surge of confidence. “I have half a mind to just lock you up in here and never let you go.”
“Hmm, now that’s an enticing thought,” he grinned. “I like a woman that takes charge.”
I felt his strong hands wrap around my waist, sliding down to grasp my hips possessively. With a deft movement, he spun me around and captured my lips with his in a passionate kiss. I couldn’t help but melt into him, feeling the familiar warmth and desire ignite between us.
“I like this shirt on you,” he murmured against my lips. “You should wear it more often.”
At that moment, all of my selfish desires came to the forefront as I pulled his neck down for another heated kiss. The chemistry between us was electrifying, and I couldn’t resist it.
“That should be enough for now,” I said breathlessly, trying to regain control over myself.
He held onto me tightly as I packed his clothes, burying his head in my shoulder. His fingers lingered in dangerous places, tempting me beyond reason. But I was determined to stay focused and do this small. act of service for him.
“You get points for your self-restraint,” he teased.

“And you get zero points for trying to seduce me,” I retorted with a playful grin, unable to resist his charms any longer.
As we stood there, wrapped in each other’s arms, I realized that this was becoming my favorite place to be. I didn’t want to leave him either.
“I don’t want to leave you,” he whispered, echoing my thoughts.
“I know,” I replied softly, holding onto him tighter as if that could make time stand still.
Together we walked out into the crisp morning air, our hands intertwined as if trying to hold onto each other just a little longer.
“You have to promise to think about me every single second you’re away,” I pleaded softly
“Your image is engraved in my mind. I couldn’t stop thinking about you even if I tried,” he replied with a tender smile.
I clung to him tighter, trying to make up for the countless hours we would spend apart. But deep down, I knew that it would all be worth it when we were reunited.
“Reid and Anya will take care of you while I’m gone,” Nicolas reassured me.

“Please, don’t argue with me on this. Just let me do this for you,” he interjected gently yet firmly.
“But…” I trailed off, knowing that there was no point in arguing any further. He has made up his mind and I trust him with all my being.
“You’ll be here without me. What if the hunters come back? I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if something happened to you,” he paused as if searching for the right words.
“Riles, I’m not so good with words, and I’m not the best at expressing myself. But I feel attached to you, and I never want to be apart from you. I’ll be thinking about you, my Luna.”
“We’ve wasted too much time worrying about the people coming after us,” he continued. “We should put ourselves first. When this matter is dealt with, I will tell the world that you’re my Luna, and you will have. the honor of the true Lycan Luna.”
My emotions overwhelmed me as our lips met in a passionate kiss. I couldn’t help but smile into the kiss. How wrong he was. That didn’t matter to me anymore. Yes, at the beginning it did. But now, all I wanted was him, and I couldn’t wait for him to get back to show him just how much.
We were interrupted too soon as Noah approached us.
“You’re leaving,” Noah said simply.

Nicolas nodded, keeping his hands wrapped around me possessively, “I’ll set up funding for your pack. But remember you’re the Alpha of this pack. It’s your job to take care of these people.”
Noah could barely look him in the eye. “I know,” he said.
“And Noah?” Nicolas continued. “Keep your distance, don’t get too close to my mate.”
Noah responded with a curt nod, walking away.
With that. Nic pulled me into a tight hug. “Goodbye,” he whispered into my ear before pressing a gentle kiss to my lips. Then, with one last glance at me, he climbed into his car and drove off.
