Chapter No Going Back Now
Ren felt her body tremble in his hold. His eyes shot open as she appeared to sob against him. His task complete he separated them a little, creating space between them so he could look her over more carefully.
“Kirea?” His hand moved from her back to frame her face again. “Hey, it’s okay.” Had he scared her? That was the last thing he wanted, this wasn’t normal for humans true, but she was different, so very different. She understood him on a level he didn’t think was possible.
He watched her bottom lip tremble just before she buried her head in his chest. “It’s not Ren, it’s really not, I’m not okay.” She confessed, her voice breaking.
His hand had slipped to the back of her head, his fingers gently stroking her hair in the hopes of soothing her all thoughts of intimacy fading.
“Because you’re sick?” He asked.
He felt her shake her head against him, the soft strands playing with his skin across his chest.
“Do you want to talk about it?” He asked.
Though it had taken time for him to fully open up to her, he had. He’d told her what had happened to him, though he did leave out the flesh-ripping details that she didn’t need to know about. Though if she had probed deeper he would have likely confided in her.
“I-I feel ashamed that I’m reacting this way. In truth, I know so many others have been through worse.” She was trembling in his hold.
Ren smiled sadly as he hugged her to him placing his head atop hers. The gesture had helped him when he was having trouble, he hoped it had the same effect on her.
“We all deal with pain in our own ways. Just because someone had it worse or easier, doesn’t make your pain and suffering any less.”
She let out a small single laugh. “When did you become so wise?”
He placed a gentle kiss on the top of her head, he didn’t know why he did it but it felt right in that moment. “I guess a certain human has rubbed off on me.”
“I’m glad you’re here.” She whispered, she appeared to have calmed down now. “The King, he punished us, but we managed to pull it off so that I still have my virtue intact. But it still... I feel violated, gross and disgusting... used.”
He rested his chin on the top of her head again as she spoke. In truth, he wasn’t sure what she was on about. But if it mattered to her, it mattered to him. She wasn’t hurt physically, so he knew she was speaking of this pain emotionally. He could understand the torment that actions could cause even if the wounds healed, or no wounds were made at all.
“It was silly to sneak into his quarters, but we found what we needed to.” She sighed into him. “So, in the end, it was worth it and I don’t regret it, I... just wasn’t prepared for it.”
“We can all break down a little when we are overwhelmed. I had all but given up on life until you showed me kindness.” He responded.
“I’m so happy to have known you, Ren.”
He didn’t like that she spoke as though she wasn’t going to be around for much longer. There was a sadness and longing in her voice that shook him to his core.
“I found you at the darkest point of my life. You are my light.” He whispered into her hair as he closed down his eyes.
She giggled against him, the sobbing and sorrow appeared to have left behind for the time being. “You have such sweet words. You... you got me through today.”
He frowned. “I didn’t do anything...”
She laughed again. “But you did. My thoughts of you are what kept me grounded while it was all... happening.”
“You think about me?” His eyes opened slightly as she moved in his hold.
“Hmm, a lot.” She admitted.
“You are the only thing on my mind at all times.” He responded in kind.
“I hope Henry came to see you today, I tried but...” She lifted her head meeting his gaze. “I was too weak after... everything.”
He frowned, he wouldn’t be here if the Knight hadn’t, she would know that right? What a peculiar thing to say.
“I feel like I’m being so selfish when I dream of you.” She began. "But I like this, when you hold me, I feel safe."
Ren’s eyes widened in realization. “Kirea your no-”
Pulling back she placed a finger to his lips cutting him off. “Shh, I won’t have you tell me otherwise. Tonight I won’t regret it in the morning. Tonight, I need you.” She breathed.
Their eyes locked. He was at a total loss, she was so vulnerable.
She pleaded with him. “Help me forget.”
He sucked in a sharp intake of air, sounding like a hiss between his gritted teeth as she closed the gap between them. Her naked form pressed tightly against his, he couldn’t focus on anything else but how her soft skin felt touching his lean form.
Did she know what she was doing? Did he? Surely what he thought she was referring to and what she actually meant were completely different, right? Surely it was, she didn’t mean... that?
His heart was racing in his chest, her pleading eyes looking up at him, her face held an expression he hadn’t seen. He took the hand that was at his mouth and placed a kiss on her palm. He needed to leave before this escalated further, he was barely hanging on by a thread as it were. And yet deep down he wanted to know if their line of thoughts were on the same plane. The best thing for both of them was to back away and return to the cave before...
He attempted to retreat letting her go, but her arms wrapped around his neck. He could break her hold easily and yet he didn’t want to, her sweet embrace more alluring than any siren’s song. His eyes bulged as she leaned in, her lips meeting his. His hands gripped her waist as all sense of reason simply evaporated.
Her lips were soft and sweet, but the kiss was passionate and needy, taking his breath away completely. She felt amazing beneath his hands. Her body shivered with delight as his fingers traced a line up her side, resting just beneath her breast. What else could he make her do? He needed to know.
Breaking the kiss he was breathless, his voice harsh and low. “Kirea, there’s no going back from this.” He warned.
She licked her lips, her tongue teasing him. Her response, she wrapped her leg around his hip pulling him closer to her still. He hissed inward as his hard body was pressed against her sweet soft core. Oh, she knew what she was doing, the invitation so clear. He dipped his head placing a kiss on her collar bone, she lulled her head back giving him full access to her neck. He could feel her trembling under his fingers, every time his lips touched her skin or his fingers shifted her body reacted to him, either accommodating him or encouraging him.
Where their skin met felt natural and electric at the same time, he couldn't get enough and wanted to explore deeper. There was a harmony in their touch that was slowly driving both of them to a surreal bliss. It was both calming, soothing and exciting.
Her hands had found their way to the back of his neck, his hair was standing on end as she trailed her fingers through it. He ran his tongue from the base of her neck up to her ear as he rolled her onto her back. His head resting on her neckline he breathed her in, he loved the way she smelt. It was a mixture of the fresh ocean breeze and a subtle hint of floral, maybe lilies? He didn’t know, he wasn’t familiar with flowers.
She gasped, though he was unsure if it was from the sudden lick or the change of position. His knee was between her thighs now. One hand gently cupped her breast as the other slowly crept down between her legs. She really wasn’t going to stop him this time? He could explore her as he always wanted? He couldn’t hold back anymore, he’d wanted this from the beginning.
His finger slipped between her folds, and she groaned beneath him. More, he wanted more! Why was she reacting this way, he wanted to know. Her body ached toward him as her head tilted back. He was hovering above her slightly, his fingers soon becoming coated with an unknown liquid as he toyed with her.
“Why do you smell so good?” He breathed against her as her scent was invading his senses.
She laughed, the sound so light and carefree. “Ren, I’m aroused, it’s because I want you to take me.”
So she did know, his body had reacted to her in the same way that hers had to him. He wanted to mate with her, the urge was overpowering. His body was already hard and pleading with him for release, and in this form, he could actually have her.
There was no stopping this.
