Chapter Forsaking Billionaire 143
Chapter 24 Emily's eyes widened in disbelief as she locked gazes with me, now sitting upright and smiling at her from across the table. "You! When did you switch it?" she stammered.
I stood up leisurely, brushing imaginary dust off my clothes. "Oh, just while you were throwing your tantrum. Switched the coffee right under your nose, and you didn't even notice. Emily, do you see now why you always lose?" As soon as I finished speaking, Emily collapsed into her chair, completely unconscious.
When Emily woke up again, she was tied to a chair in an abandoned warehouse, sitting across from me. I casually swung her phone in my hand, watching her panic-stricken face.
"I've already followed the instructions on your phone to bring the two of us here," I said, grinning. "Why don't you tell me what you originally planned to do to me at this place?" Emily's eyes widened in terror, her expression frozen in shock.
"Are you insane?! Untie me right now! They'll be here soon, and if they see it's me tied up instead of you, they'll definitely-"
Her voice cut off abruptly. I leaned in, intrigued. "They'll definitely do what? And who are they?"
"Untie me! Please! I'm begging you.. Caroline, please!" Emily's tears streamed down her face, and her trembling lips gave away everything.
She had hired a group of thugs online, transferring payments digitally to avoid a traceable connection. Her plan was simple:
drug me, drag me here, and leave me unconscious for them to carry out their vile plan. She'd return later to find me ruined.
But her scheme had been flipped on
its head. Now,
it was her tied to the
chair, and she'd never met those thugs in person. When they arrived and found her tied up, they'd
undoubtedly assume she
me.
She would bear the consequences of her own twisted plan.
Emily was frantic, swearing she'd leave me alone if I let her go.
Her desperate pleas revealed the depths of her malice, and I felt a chill in my heart. What an utterly vile woman.
But for someone this wicked, she deserved a taste of her own medicine.
I pocketed her phone and flashed her a sweet smile as I turned to leave. Well, since it's your plan you can enjoy being the victim instead."
"Caroline, you bitch! Aren't you supposed to be the kind-hearted
one? If you're so kind, untie me right now! If I get assaulted, I'll never forgive you! Caroline!" Emily screamed and cursed at me, her voice growing hoarse. Eventually, she frightened herself so much she fainted.
Outside, I bumped into Jason, who was rushing in, his eyes bloodshot. He only relaxed when he saw me safe and sound.
I let out a snort of amusement before walking out of the warehouse.
Before I could say a word, he pulled me into his arms with a crushing embrace.
