Forbidden Temptation My Mafia Fiance's Alpha Father (Brooklyn and Aden)

Chapter 20

Chapter 20

Aden

Hudson meets my eyes then, seeing the truth in my words. Finally.

I'm glad to see that he seems to rise to the challenge. Perhaps this is what it will take to make Hudson the man and wolf he needs to be: the right woman.

"You should probably go talk to her," I tell him, dismissing him and nodding toward the upper floor where Brooklyn is.

Hudson sets his jaw and leaves. Before the door closes behind him, I see him paused at the foot of the staircase as if he's deciding whether or not to follow my advice.

I sink down into the big leather chair behind my desk again, staring at the closed door, and suddenly feel...dammit.

For a just a moment, I imagine what it would be like to climb those stairs myself, to open Brooklyn's door while she's getting ready for bed. Taking off her earrings, then turning to stare at me with those wide blue eyes.

What it would be like to take two steps forward and grab her, pull her to me, make her gasp as I fist a hand in the hair at the base of her scalp and pulled her head back, exposing that long white neck.

To feel the moan echoing inside her chest, her breasts pressed against my chest, her hard nipples as I grind my hips against hers, my hard cock pressed between us.

My canines would drop, and once I had her naked, plunging myself into her, I'd bite her, mark her, make her mine completely.

I could show her, then, what it was to be a good wife, a good mate. To become subservient, to learn how to anticipate my needs, to see how good it could be for both woman and wolf to submit.

I could make a girl like Brooklyn willingly give up her independence, serve me happily, if it meant that

every night she could peel off my clothes, pull my hot skin against her, take my throbbing length inside of her-

I want her on her hands and knees for me, crawling to me.

Fuck!

I snap my head to the side, cracking my neck and pressing my eyes closed.

I have to stop thinking about her. She's going to be my son's wife. And she's too young for someone like me, too naïve to the ways of this world-my world.

Dammit, thinking about her has made me rock hard. Again.

This time, jerking off isn't going to be enough.

I reach for my phone, picking it up and quickly dialing.

The person on the other end answers in one ring.

"Hey baby," she purrs. "I've been missing you."

"Jayde," I say, working to keep my voice even. "Here. Half an hour."

She giggles on the other end. "Ohhhh, he's in a rush. I'll be there pronto, baby." Another little giggle and she hangs up.

I stare at the phone in my hand knowing, in the pit of my stomach, that Jayde is at best a temporary fix.

I have a deeper hunger growing inside.

One my wolf isn't going to let me ignore.

Brooklyn

I'm laying back on my bed, all cried out, when I hear a knock at my door. I raise my head and groan inwardly. What could possibly be next?

Before I can get up to answer it, the door creeks open a little.

I sigh. No such thing as privacy in the mafia palace, apparently.

"Brooklyn?"

My mouth drops open as I hear a voice that I recognize. I'm too shocked to speak as I see Hudson peek around the door, smiling shyly.

"Are you okay?"

I just stare at him.

He grimaces and comes into the room, pressing the door shut behind him. Then he leans back on it, staring at me, quirking his mouth into that sweet smile I used to love.

I groan and lay my head back on my pillows. "Go away. We can talk about our engagement later."

"Brooklyn." I can hear the apology in his voice. I hear him come closer to the bed. "Come on," he says. "It could be worse."

I open my eyes and glare at him. "Are you serious?"

He shrugs and again gives me that charming smile, sliding his hands into his pockets. "I mean, at least we know we like each other."

"Like each other? Hudson, you like—"

"Shh!" He puts a hand out towards me and looks anxiously at the door. "Seriously, watch what you say. We can't talk about that sort of thing here."

I glance at the closed door, confused. "Can they hear us in here?"

"My dad has ears everywhere," he murmurs. He turns back to me. "Are you mad at me?"

I sigh and sit up on the bed, feeling awkward. I never wanted to see Hudson ever again, let alone have this weird conversation about why I didn't want to be his mafia bride just because our parents promised us to each other.

"I'm not mad at you," I say quietly. "It's just... I want to be mated to

someone who loves me. Not to

someone who is only mating menet

because of who my father is, and certainly not someone who

swnov

He gives me a worrying look, and I sigh, watching my words.

"Someone who isn't attracted to me," I finish.

He sits hesitantly next to me on the bed, reaching out an arm to put around my shoulders. I shoot him a look, though, and he pulls his arm back.

Whatever sparks I felt for him before are gone. Even Lena recoils inside of me now.

"There could be good things about this," he says quietly, thoughtfully. "Not all marriages work out anyway, and at least we know we like each other as people. We could make this work for both of us."

I look up at him, aghast. Is he serious?

I'm sure they will expect us to have a pup, and for us to be fully mated...which means marking each other.

There's no way I can imagine him marking me, no way I can imagine having sex with him.

Lena gives a little whine and pushes the image of Aden into my head.

Now him, I can picture-

Nope. Not going there.

I return my attention to Hudson.

"Are you actually on board with this, Hudson? Don't you want to mate someone you love?"
