Chapter 51

Chapter 51

ing around with

Grace was on cloud nine, thinking it was fantastic to humiliate Ella in front of so many people. Reporters were already swarming

Reporters bombarded Ella with questions. “Excuse me, Ms Willow, what do you think? Why don’t you admit defeat in advance! May I ask what you’re feeling right now! Will you kneel

Ella asked curiously, “Is this live!”

Someone said, “Yes, the whole country can see

– this”

Ella was thrilled. That’s fantastic, she mused, realizing that this time Harry wouldn’t be able to pull any strings in secret, unlike the wedding where everything was swept under the rug overnight.

Everyone thought Ella had lost her mind, seeing her so excited. Meanwhile, Grace pulled out a contract, ready to sign it publicly with Jenny. The cameras zoomed in for a close–up of the document

Grace said mockingly, “Ella, once this contract is signed, you’ll have to keep your promise”

Ella said, “What promise?”

Grace replied, “Are you fucking playing dumb)”

Ella said. “I honestly forgot. Can you remind me!”

Grace amwered proudly. “The loser has to kneel and hold a banner saying I am the fucking liar.”

Ella said. “Got it. I’ve already brought the Lanner now

Grace answered, “Oh, how thickskinned”

Ella said meaningfully, “Of course After all, it’s not the first time I’ve been embarrassed, right?”

But Grace was an idiot and couldn’t tell at all. “Alright, I’ll wait then

Ella urged, “I’m waiting too. Hurry up and sign the contract

Grace was furious, but Harry sensed something was off. In the past, Ella has shown a strong aversion and resistance, but at the present moment, she exudes a sense of tranquility and connectedness that is quite striking. Considering the great importance Ella places on her sense of dignity and self- respect, what reason could there possibly be for her to simply remain passive and allow herself to be defeated? Could there be some twist in this situation!

As Harry was thinking, Jenny spoke. “Mrs Rhys, I’m not a designer of Lucia. Do you still want to sign?”

The crowd gasped.

“What do you mean! Grace looked at Jenny in a daze

Jenny answered, “Now that I see the contract clearly, you want me to be a fashion designer! My major is finance. I’m great at expanding business and handling bank relations, but I know nothing about designing clothes”

Grace sald

doubtfully, “But you won an award”

Jenny replied, “Yes, but the ward wasn’t mine. It was my friend’s, and I accepted it on my friend’s behalf. The late Mr. Rhys knew this. Didn’t he tell you!”

Jenny feigned innocence. In reality, I haven’t told Mr. Rhys either, and now he is dead, leaving no way to

no way to prove otherwise!

Grace was stunned. “Why didn’t you say anything earlier?” She thought, Isn’t it ruining my plans to say it at this juncture? Could I be tied with Ella Willow and there is no winner! This is a good opportunity for me to reach the top. What a pity!

Little did Grace know, what awaited her wasn’t a tie but a total defeat.

Jenny said. “Mr. Rhys appreciated my financial skills and wanted to hire me as an advisor. After his accident, you guys contacted me. I thought it was for the same reason

Jenny pretended to be innocent. “So, are you still signing the contract with me?”

Someone said, “We don’t need a financial advisor for a while

Jenny shrugged nonchalantly. “That’s too bad.”

Chapter 51

Grace said indignantly. “Ella, consider yourself lucky. If there’s no winner, the bet will be invalid after today!”

“Who kid there’s no winner? I have the designer from Lucia” Ella’s playful smile sent a shiver down Grace’s spine.

And Grace said, “Impossible. You’ve misunderstood, haven’t you?”

Ella replied, “Misunderstanding for what? I want to ask Jenny to be my financial consultant, Willow Group has already reserved a seat for Jenny. Right

Jenny walked over to Ella and said. “Of course, I’ll go to your company to help. Even if you don’t pay, I’ll still go.”

Grace’s face went white as a sheet. She realized she’d been duped. Scanning the crowd. Grace noticed Ella hadn’t brought anyone special, probably just bluffing to freak her out. Hiring a Lucia designer who snubs local brands? No way that’s easy.

“Ella, stop pretending. If even Rhys Group couldn’t get Lucia, there’s no way you could.” Grace regained some confidence, which was given by Rhys Group.

Ella said. “That’s just because Rhys Group is incompetent. Mrs. Rhys told me straight up that she has no respect for the Rhys Group. With you two clowns running the show, it’s only a matter of time before it goes bankrupt.”

Grace replied. “Ella, watch your mouth! If you have someone, where is that person!”

Ella stepped forward and patted her chest. “Me.”

Grace was stunned for a second, then burst into laughter. “This is ridiculous. You’re just a business student who barely passes your classes. Now you’re telling me you’re a Lucia designer? You make my day.”

Ella replied. “If you don’t believe me, here’s some proof Ella had everything ready. Her housekeeper, Hazel Moore, brought a bag with a gold- plated trophy bearing Ella’s name and some certificates recognized internationally. Ella even video–called the award organizers to greet them.

The people on the other end of the video call couldn’t help bur express their admiration and amazement. “Lucia, it’s a shame you’re not developing your career here. You’d have a bigger stage,” one of the organizers stated.

“I prefer my home country,” Lucia replied.

“Well th

then, I respect your choice, they said

The brief chat left everyone in shock. They couldn’t believe Ella, the supposed underachiever, was the renowned designer.

“No way, this has to be a setup, Grace stammereit

Reporters, verifying the details, found that the foreign man in the video was indeed the recognized master, currently the head designer for a major brand. Everything checked out.

People thought, So, this was all true, Ella was the Lucia’s designer that they were fighting over

“Apologize Apologize! Apologize!” The crowd chanted louder and louder.

Panic–stricken, Grace tried to leave, but Ella blocked her path.

Ella said, “Not leaving without fulfilling your promise, are you! I even brought the banner”

Grace’s face was flushed with rage and embarrassment, unable to utter a complete sentence. “Honey, help me. Seeing no way out Grace called for Harry, but Harry was already escaping. He jumped into a car, ordering the driver to speed off.

“Harry Grace was left alone, feeling abandoned by the whole world. Dizzy and about to faint, she was caught by Jenny.

Ella said with a smile, “Don’t pass out now. I brought a doctor, and they have a shot thatll perk you right up”
