Chapter 36 

Ella didn’t seem to care if Jaden got upset and was always talking about the baby. She was certain it’d be a boy. 

Boys or girls, Grandpa will love them all 1 just hope for a healthy baby so you don’t suffer,” Devin said. 

Ella asked, “Grandpa, don’t you want a great–grandson?” 

“No, I just want you to suffer less. Boy or girl, it doesn’t matter, Devin replied. 

Ella asked, “Grandpa, when Mom was pregnant with me, didn’t you mind that I was a girl?” 

Devin said, “Mind? Not at all. You’re so wonderful. Boys can’t be as cute and thoughtful as you are 

Ella’s eyes welled up with tears. Her mom had struggled with infertilay and went through several rounds of IVE, suffering a lot. Her father, distressed by this, didn’t want to continue and decided to let nature take its course, even considering adoption from distant relatives if they couldn’t 

conceive 

Devin had always been open–minded and fully supported them without a word of complaint

They stayed for dinner with Devin. During the meat, Jaden kept piling food on her plate, which pleased Devin greatly. 

Ella felt reluctant to leave, her eyes red with emotion. In the car, she couldn’t hold back any longer and buried her head in Jaden’s chest, crying like a helpless child 

Devin was gravely ill, and Ella had been abandoned Partly out of spite and partly to find someone obedient, she had married Jaden. 

After taking over the group, countless people doubted her, predicting her downfall. 

But Ella had worked hard step by step, all on her own. Now, everything was finally improving, even Devin’s illness showed signs of recovery. 

All her hardships were worth it. She longed to return to the past, under Devin’s protection, carefree in Ardhent City. But that time was gone. 

She had to protect her ailing Grandpa and her mentally impaired husband, and uphold Devin’s legacy, being accountable to thousands of employees. 

There was no going back. When Ella thought of this, she cried even more fiercely Jaden remained still, letting her cling to him. 

“Idiot, you’re supposed to hold me and comfort me,” she said, annoyed at his dullness. 

Jaden frowned almost imperceptibly but eventually hugged her gently. 

“That’s better,” she murmured. “Thank you for making Grandpa so happy today. His appetite improved, and he even ate more than usual. Next time, come with me to visit Grandpa again, Okay?” 

“I’m not Harry,” he said slowly. 

Ella said, “Hmm! You cared about that?” 

Jaden said, “Tm not him, so why should 1 act like him? I don’t like it. He held Ella’s hand, slightly displeased. 

“I don’t want that either, but he refuses to come,” 

Ella said. 

Jaden’s face darkened. So, if Harry were willing to come, there would be no need for hime 

What did that make him‘ The more he thought about it, the more upset Jaden became. He unconsciously tightened his grip, hurting her wrist.

“What are you doing?” Ella struggled to free herself.

“Fine. We’ll talk about it next time.” Ella said, unsure when that would be. She brought Jaden home, surprised to find Rose at the door. 

“Rose? Why are you here?” Ella asked 

“I came to see Jaden.” Rose warmly took Ella’s hand, which made Ella feel she was being insincere.

They had been married for so long, and the Watson family hadn’t even attended the wedding. Now they had the nerve to claim they were here to see Jaden? Ella didn’t expose her hypocrisy. 

Sure enough, once inside, Rose didn’t even glance at jaden, immediately inquiring about Denison Group’s intentions.

“And what else?” Ella asked.

Ella immediately called Hank to arrange a conversation with Marcus. After about half an hour, she received the call.

Ella said, “Mr. White, I want to ask about your plans for the Watson family” 

“What business is it of yours?” the man said. 

Ella said, “Of course, it’s not my business. I just think the Watson family is an old established family in Ardbert City, and it will be difficult to bring them down in a short time. Why not lie low and find another opportunity later“” 

“Make it straight,” the man said
