Chapter 955
"Grab her for me!" The woman's voice was sharp with fury as she barked orders at the two bodyguards behind her.
The Tibetan Mastiff had been the first gift Jaden had given her, something she cherished deeply. Now Flora had killed her beloved dog, and there was no way she was letting Flora off easy!
Caught up in her own rage, she failed to notice the shift in her bodyguards' expressions when they spotted Kruz and his crew approaching. Instead of following her orders, they stepped forward, bowing respectfully to Kruz and Adrian. "Mr. Kruz, Master Adrian," they greeted, their voices tinged with respect.
Then, turning to Flora, their deference grew even more pronounced. "Ms. Flora."
Flora's name was legendary on Lone Island. Everyone knew about her. Though the bodyguards had never met her before, the way Adrian and Kruz treated her left no doubt this was the Ms. Flora. The one Master Adrian held in the highest regard.
"At least you're not completely clueless," Kruz smirked, noting the Neville family insignia on their uniforms. "Since when did the Neville family start associating with such a nasty piece of work?" Nathan's kids were usually pretty upstanding, not the type to produce someone so uncouth and out of place.
The bodyguards could only muster a bitter smile. It wasn't like they had a choice. The young master had a soft spot for this woman.
"Who are you calling a nasty piece of work?!" The woman's face flushed with anger as she glared at Kruz. Ever since she'd been with Jaden, no one dared speak to her like this.
"Ms. Candace, please, let's not make a scene," one of the bodyguards implored, visibly stressed. "You're standing before Ms. Flora and the young masters of the Falcone and Reyes families."
But reason was lost on Candace. Coming from a small town, she wouldn't be here without Jaden. Naturally, she had no clue about the Falcone and Reyes families.
"What Falcone family, what Reyes family! You're my bodyguards, you should listen to me!" she declared with misplaced confidence. "This woman killed my Lucky, and I demand she kneels and apologizes!" "Do you really think you're in a position to demand that?" Kruz chuckled. Expect Flora to apologize? She'd need to be deserving of such an act.
Given Nathan's affection for Flora, even the Neville family's young heirs would step aside for her. And who did Candace think she was? The bodyguards exchanged weary glances, not wanting to dignify the demand with a response.
Seeing them side with Flora, Candace was nearly in tears. "I'm your boss! Just wait until Jaden gets here, he'll have your heads, believe me!" The bodyguards were caught between a rock and a hard place ignoring Candace wasn't an option, not with Jaden in the picture.
Feeling more aggrieved by the
second, Candace threw a tantrum, while onlookers watched with disinterest, as if she were nothing more than a public spectacle

"Alright, let's go," Flora said with a yawn, turning away. Candace's antics were an embarrassment to women everywhere.
Kruz and Adrian were quick to follow, frustrated that a simple outing could be disrupted by such drama, souring Flora's mood.
"Don't you dare walk away!" Candace
shouted, her eyes blazing with anger as they ignored her. She tried to rush afterthem, but the bodyguards held her back.
Completely exasperated, they pleaded, "Miss, please, enough already."
She was someone they couldn't afford to provoke.
"Whose side are you on?!" Candace raged, slapping one of them in frustration.
The bodyguards were seething but bit their tongues.
"Master!" one suddenly called out.
A man in a sleek navy blue suit strolled over his manner calm and composed. But when he caught sight of the Tibetan Mastiff in a pool of blood, a shadow passed over his face, and he quickened his pace.
