Chapter 111

Chapter 111
If Carmella could enter their world, the connections and status she’d gain would be beyond the reach of others.
Not only would they be able to enjoy this glory with her, but in the future they’d also be respected in the whole Macclain family
and all of J City.
Simone couldn’t help but get excited as she thought about it, as if she could already see the scene where friends and relatives
would come to their door to flatter and praise them.
Carmella had her own ideas – she wanted to establish a firm position in the Macclain family and make sure that everyone in the
Macclain family recognizes her worth, so she wouldn’t be treated like some disposable asset anymore!
The next day at noon, Albert called to tell them that Old Mr. Quintin had time on Saturday and they could take Carmella to visit
him.
When Bennett shared the news with Simone and Carmella, they were all thrilled, hardly getting any sleep for days, trying to
figure out Old Mr. Quintin’s preferences and preparing various lavish gifts.
On Saturday, Albert took the Macclain family to Old Mr. Quintin’s house.
In the car, Simone repeatedly reminded Carmella to behave properly and try to make a good impression on Old Mr. Quintin.
Aware of the significance of this visit for her future, Carmella nervously clutched her fingers, determined to put all her knowledge
and
abilities to win Old Mr. Quintin’s favor.
When the car stopped outside the building, Carmella took a deep breath, put on a faint smile, and followed Albert gracefully.
A servant welcomed them inside, with Old Mr. Quintin waiting in the living room.
Upon seeing Old Mr. Quintin, Bennett and Simone also felt nervous, expressing full of respect.
Albert introduced Carmella to Old Mr. Quintin with emphasis.

With a soft smile on her face, Carmella sweetly greeted, “Mr. Quintin, I’ve heard so much about you from Mr. Mullins, and now I
finally get to meet you in person.”
Old Mr. Quintin, elegant and approachable, laughed and said, “I’ve also heard of you from Albert, who says you’re his most
outstanding student.”
Carmella quickly replied modestly, “It’s because Mr. Mullins has been a good teacher. I still have much to learn.”
Old Mr. Quintin smiled and nodded, asked them to take a seat as the servant came over to serve tea.
They engaged in small talk focused on respecting Old Mr. Quintin. After half an hour. Simone gave Bennett a hint, who then
spoke about the purpose of their visit today.
“Mr. Mullins thinks highly of Carmella and wants to promote her, so he wanted her to participate in the painting exhibition.
Carmella has been taking it very seriously, spending all the time painting in her room every day. Eventually, her painting was
selected, but we found out on the day of the exhibition that her painting was taken down.”
He paused for a moment and became even more humble, “We’ve been wondering if her painting maybe wasn’t good enough,
which is why it got taken away from the exhibition. So, we’ve come to bother Old Mr. Quintin today and hope he can give her
some guidance.”
He didn’t say that they came to Old Mr. Quintin to have Carmella’s painting exhibited again; instead, he said they came for
advice. Simone kindly smiled, adding, “Carmella has been losing weight from not eating, drinking, or sleeping. We feel sorry for
her, so we made every effort to ask Mr. Mullins to bring us and meet you.”
Old Mr. Quintin took a sip of his tea and spoke slowly, “I’ve seen Carmella’s painting, and about taking it down from the
exhibition...” “It was my suggestion!” came a cold voice from outside the living room, startling everyone as they turned to see
someone leisurely walking down the staircase.
Carmella stared with blinking at the person coming down, her heart pounding, as if something had exploded deep within her.
