Fight for Me

Chapter Escape

Third POV

He’s fidgeting against the chains as he’s anticipating for the rising full moon.

Tonight, is the night to escape. And he needs to find her. They took her this morning when they realized she was still alive.

He can only pray that she’s still alive.

Half an hour later he feels it, he feels the power of the moon filling him and making him stronger.

He grabs a hold of the chains and gives them one quick and powerful tug, breaking them from the wall and crumbling them from his wrists. Breaking the bars to the cell is way easier, since they’re not made of silver. - ‘Amateurs’, is all he can think.

The place is already filling with noise and growls as the wolf shifters are breaking their way out and helping the others out as well.

He goes to his next door neighbour to help him get out of his chains. He’s a lion shifter and has become a friend. They haven’t seen each other yet. Never even had the chance to fight each other, yet either. But they have had the occasional conversations.

“I figure you’d need some help.” He says with a smirk.

Ggrh. “Hurry up, Blake, and get me out of these chains. There are some guards I need to sink my teeth into.”

“Calm your tits Mike.” Blake says as he breaks the chains off. “We first need to get everyone out of here.”

“Beta Blake. We’re almost done getting everyone out. Where do we go from here?” Another wolf shifter, Jason asks him.

He’s one of the warriors from Blake’s pack. A good fighter too. But Blake knows they might have a better chance getting the attention of the guards now than trying to break through those steel doors. But they can’t lose hope now.

“Mike? You still got some strength in you right? How about you and I try breaking that steel door so long.” Blake says to the shifter.

“How about we just knock and let a guard open it for us?” He says with a smirk. He always had a sense of humour.

“You know the moment they realize what’s going on, they’re gonna dose this place in all kinds of anesthesia to knock us out.”

But just as Blake makes his argument, they hear a sound they’re all too familiar with.

Click!

Everybody goes stiff and quiet, looking at the green light above the mechanical door, telling them it’s unlocked, - telling them that someone is coming. But no one is opening the door and it’s still quiet outside.

Blake walks towards the door and opens it, seeing no one in sight. It’s late at night, so the guards usually slack off. But he sees that the cameras are off too.

“What’s going on Blake?”

“It’s her. She did it.” Blake says with a proud smile on his face. “Come on. We have to get everyone out. All the main doors should be unlocked. Once you reach outside, split up. It will make it difficult to catch us that way. But we have to be quick.” He says to all the curious eyes staring at him.

Quick movement and muttering is heard as they make their way out. But quite a few aren’t, and staying behind giving Blake a knowing look. These are the ones that are going to help him bring this place to the ground.

Just as the last few are out of sight, they make their way through the halls, sniffing out these lazy guards. It isn’t long that the sound of growls and screams are heard echoing the hallways. That’s when the emergency alarm goes off, sending red flickering lights through every corner.

Guards come running with their batons and their tasers, but the looks on their faces seeing all of them, tells them how scared they are.

Blood spatters all over as flesh is being ripped apart. The screams and the growls grow louder.

The sprinklers turn on and make the hallways flood with a river of blood.

With just a few more kills left, Blake makes his way to the upper levels looking for Ass-hat’s office. He needs to find her.

Jason, the warrior wolf is behind him, attacking any few guards left that may slow Blake down.

But the closer they get, the more difficult it becomes to breathe. - Smoke.

When he turns the corner, they see roaring flames engulfing the metal door leading to the far-off area of offices in this place. They won’t be able to get through. That whole area of this place seems to be in flames and the sprinklers are useless against it. And the walls are already cracking from all the damage.

“Shit. Blake. We have to get out of here. This place is going to collapse.”

“There has to be another way to get in.”

“She might not even be there. Maybe she already got out.”

Blake knows Jason is just trying to sound hopeful, even to himself. Especially considering the state she was in.

“I can’t leave her. I have to make sure.” He says as the building starts to shake with its own unsteady weight.

But just as Blake tries to take a step forward, a firm grip on his shoulder stops him.

“If she’s in there, it’s already too late. But if she got out, she will know where to go. But we have to leave, now.” Blake looks at the lion shifter’s hand on him.

He knows he’s right. They have to leave. He can’t risk his life on an uncertainty. His surviving pack members are waiting for him. If she’s alive, she will come.

Blake hesitantly turns around and runs with the others out of the building.
