Feral Wolf

Chapter 24

“I don’t want to go.” Achilles mumbled as he hugged Brontes tightly, who was crouched so that he could hug Achilles back. We were out in the fields, in front of the pack house. Looking at them now, I knew that Brontes would be a great father one day.

“You have to, pup. Your real dad has come to get you. He searched for you all over. He was worried and determined. You don’t want to leave him, do you? Plus, don’t you want to see your mama?” Brontes soothed Achilles and ruffled his hair.

“Achilles, your mom will be so excited to see you safe and sound.” I urged, placing my hands on his shoulders. “You can come back and visit us once you go back home and settled in.”

“You guys will let me see you?” He asked, his eyes holding hope.

“Of course! I will always welcome you, Achilles.” I replied immediately, with a smile.

Alpha Altair stood behind his son and waited for him to finish his goodbyes. I could see a part of him was glad to finally go home and the other part was happy to finally meet his son. Their first encounter didn’t go as he expected. He thought Achilles would not want to go to him but as soon as he told him who he was Achilles was more than excited.

“You promise?” he asked again.

“I do. You and your family will always be welcome here.” I assured him.

“Ok, then I am ready to go.” Achilles moved to hug both Brontes and I before going back to his father’s side.

Alpha Altair was grinning when he walked up to me. “You are a remarkable Alpha. Don’t let anyone think otherwise. If you weren’t mated I would claim you for myself. That is how badly I want you.”

Brontes growled angrily and his hand came around my waist as he stood next to me, glowering at Alpha Altair who gave him a cocky smirk. It seemed that Alpha Altair loved pushing Brontes’ buttons.

“She’s mine.” Brontes growled out.

“And you are lucky to have her. If she didn’t find you and was still an unmated female—I mean it when I say I would take her.” Alpha Altair confirmed again before looking at me. “I guess I am one of the unlucky ones.”

“You will find your mate and once you do you won’t think the same way you are thinking now.” I replied.

“Maybe so but either way you are still an amazing female.” He gazed at me appreciatively before sighing and then turning to his pup and putting his hand out for Achilles. They began walking down the hill and before they disappeared into the woods Achilles turned around to look at us one last time before waving his hand good bye.

Alpha Altair turned once again to nod his head at me and they disappeared into the woods with my two of my pack warriors that I had assigned to follow them out safely.

“Alpha!” A voice came from behind me. I turned around to see Isis stomping her way to me.

“Izzy, what’s up?” I asked.

“I want to be assigned to someone else other than Orion.” She grumbled as she threw daggers at a chuckling Orion.

“Why?” Brontes was grinning beside me.

“Because he-he-” She stammered as she pointed at Orion. “I don’t know.”

“Well then...” I intertwined my fingers in front of me as I shrugged. “I guess you are stuck with him.”

“Thank you, Alpha.” Orion replied, still grinning, and then moved to grab Isis around the waist and hoist her up over his shoulder. She growled and hit his backside.

“Let me go or I will castrate you.” She shouted. Orion only began laughing in response. The muscles of his body pressed against the small shirt he was wearing.

“If you castrate me how can we have pups then, my dear mate?” He answered and waved his goodbye to us before turning them and walking back up the hill to the pack house. I heard Isis gasp and then lift up to look at me to which I put two thumbs up.

Brontes kissed my forehead and sniffed my hair, running his finger lightly on my back. I closed my eyes and inhaled his scent deeply. His big burly body towered over me but he made me feel safe beyond comprehension.

“Now that I think about it, I believe you and I need to start working on ours too, mate.” He whispered huskily and I blushed in response. “I can’t wait to see our little ones. Would you give me that?”

The thought of having a little pup that looked like Brontes had my heart fluttering out of my chest. I turned so that I could look up at him. He was looking down at me seriously, his arms wrapped around my waist. I nodded my response and his face pulled into a grin as he shouted.

“Yes! Let’s start with our first now.” He picked me up and threw me over his shoulder like Orion did with Isis, and I squealed as he ran up like a crazed male up to our bedroom.

When we made it to the bedroom, he placed me on the bed gently before stripping off his clothes and taking care of mine carelessly. His mouth captured mine into his and the fire inside of me lit back to life. The feel of his skin against mine sent waves after waves of small electrifying shots through my body that had me rubbing against his naked body.

“I think-” He kissed my lips. “I think today will be spent on successfully procuring ourselves a pup. That is your Alpha duty today. Nothing else matters but this one important duty.”

“Do we really have to do it now?” I asked biting my lips nervously.

“Of course, not a moment to waste, my female.” He huskily spoke. “Plus, I am sure you would enjoy it very much.”

As soon as he said that he slipped under the covers and in between my legs. Oh god, I guess I could push other duties aside for now.
