Chapter 7 Unscrupulous Thoughts
Alexander was a man of his words. The next morning he appeared at the residential area where Allison was staying and was waiting downstairs.
Under Jennifer's urges, Allison changed into a plain white T-shirt, and she could only dangle a steamed-bread from her mouth before hastily making her way downstairs.
The car that was waiting for her was the same luxurious Maybach.
Under the burning gaze of some onlookers, Allison walked towards the car.
Bernard who was standing by on one side pulled the car door open while greeting her politely, "Missus, good morning."
Allison really couldn't get used to such a title imposed on her, so she smiled awkwardly in his direction before getting into the car.
After getting into the car, her attention was captured by Alexander who was sitting next to her.
Today, Alexander was wearing a suit which was jet black in color. The top most buttons had not been buttoned up, and with a clear view of his Adam's apple, his appearance today gave him a look of abstinence. Her heart somehow quivered at this sight.
She always knew that Alexander was a looker, but now she knew that he could even be so seductive.
Allison started to have unscrupulous thoughts a moment after.
Alexander was initially studying a document in front of him, but because Allison was almost boring a hole in him with her passionate gaze, he couldn't help looking up suddenly and met her eyes.
When Allison saw the coldness in his eyes, she abruptly snapped back to reality as she immediately drooped her head.
She was flushed all over and she even felt so embarrassed that she wanted to dig a hole and hide inside it.
Alexander acted as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened. He immediately shifted his gaze back to his documents.
Throughout the journey, the car was overwhelmed by dead silence. Although Allison looked like she was watching the passing scenery outside the window, her thoughts were still stuck on the previous scene and Alexander's gaze.
She was so far removed from the world that she didn't even notice the car rolling to a stop. Bernard had to remind her.
"Missus, we have arrived."
Bernard opened the door on Allison's side while holding out his hand to gesture her to step out of the car.
Allison got out of the car and half-expected Alexander to follow suit, but contrary to her expectation, the car sped away immediately right in front of her, leaving her with Bernard by themselves. Allison was instantly seized by confusion. Weren't they supposed to go to their new house together?
Bernard who was standing next to her could see through her mind as he explained, "Missus, Mr. Parker has an urgent meeting in the morning. He will rendezvous with you at noon and have lunch with you." Oh, so that was the reason.
Allison's face brightened up considerably, and as if suddenly struck by a thought, she turned around and asked Bernard, "Bernard, can you stop calling me Missus?"
She felt that this title was unbefitting her!
After all, today was only the second day she had assumed the position of Mr. Parker's wife. It was only natural that she couldn't get used to hearing her newly designated title. "You can just call me by my name, Allison."
"Missus, this is where Mr. Parker stays, and you will also stay here from now on." Bernard ignored her request while pointing at a villa not far away from them. Allison followed Bernard's finger and saw an extremely luxurious villa that came with a courtyard and a single huge door seemingly appeared out of thin air.
So Alexander always stayed here?
After entering the house, Allison's eyes found a lot of things to glance over as she scanned her surroundings.
The interior was painted in a classy-looking greyish color, which was compatible with Alexander's cool and composed demeanor. This thought suddenly occurred to Allison.
Bernard led Allison to the second floor, and he introduced her room as he pushed open a door that led into a room beside the main bedroom, "Missus, from now on, this will be your room.”
The decoration of the room was simple and crisp, and the color theme was an extension of the master's favorite color.
She stared at the spring mattress on the master bed, and Allison's heart began to pound in anticipation of something.
From now on, she would spend her nights lying in the same bed with Alexander.
As she pictured that, Allison felt her throat constricted, and her breathing was invariably ragged.
Bernard, who was beside her, saw that she was flushed, so he asked nervously, "Missus, is there something wrong? Are you feeling not well?"
"That's not it." Allison was even more embarrassed after she was thrown with that question.
Bernard wouldn't have guessed what was on Allison's mind. He continued his introduction of the room, "This room is yet to be decorated and furnished. Mr. Parker has instructed me to furnish it according to your preference, Missus. Therefore, we will be paying a visit to the mall later."
"Alright." Allison nodded.
"One more thing, Missus. Mr. Parker's room is just beside yours." After exiting her room, Bernard pointed at a room next to hers and said.
When she heard that, she immediately froze.
So it turned out that Alexander wasn't going to share a bed with her.
Allison couldn't help heaving a huge sigh of relief. She had been worrying for nothing.
She was initially hesitant to face Alexander when she was going to see him at night.
After detecting a slight change in Allison's face, Bernard thought that she was upset about this.
After all, a newly-wed shouldn't sleep apart from each other.
He hastily went with an explanation, "Missus, Mr. Parker is fond of silence, so that is why there are no maids in this villa. There are only commissioned workers coming regularly to tidy up the place. If you think that you need to..."
"No, no thanks. That's not what I mean..." Allison waved her hands anxiously to make her point clear.
When she followed Bernard to the mall, she slowly got a sense of the facilities and buildings around this area.
This was indeed a wealthy district. The nearest public transportation system such as the train would require her to walk at least half an hour to reach it.
She would have to wake up even earlier than she already had in order not to be late to work.
Bernard brought Allison to mall which was located near to the Parker Group.
"Missus, please take your time to look around, I'll need to go back to the company for now. Mr. Parker will come over to have lunch with you in two hours." Bernard said. This mall was frequented by elegant and noble-looking ladies that probably hailed from rich families. Allison who was wearing a plain white T-shirt looked out of place here.
Just as Allison was immersed in her window shopping, suddenly someone called her from behind.
Allison turned around and searched for the source of that voice.
A woman who had her arm around a man's arm was already right in front of her.
"Hey! It's really you, Allison." The woman let out a faint chuckle as she inched closer to the man right next to her, "Julius, see, your choice back then was correct. This good-for-nothing is still looking like a poor woman!"
