Chapter 6
Chapter 6: That Wallace Family was Insane
When Lexie fell for Callum, even with the Koch family against them due to their different backgrounds, she went for it, pursuing what she thought was true love. She cut ties with the Koch family, kept her identity as the Koch family’s granddaughter a secret, and jumped into the Wallace family mess.
When her grandfather, Mr. Koch, found out, he was furious. He froze her bank accounts and cutting off all financial support to make Lexie reconsider.
And so, three long years passed.
During this time, the Koch family patiently waited for Lexie to change her mind. To their surprise. Callum dumped Lexie first!
Lexie, their little princess, was dumped by that asshole Callum on their wedding day!
All Kochs couldn’t believe this. That Wallace family must be insane to disgrace a Koch!
Emmett was furious, and couldn’t wait to teach the Wallace a good lesson.
Lexie, looking at Emmett with a smile, said blankly, “Uncle Emmett, haven’t you already arranged everything for me?”
“Well, that’s also right. I want you to return to the Koch family. Grandfather is getting old, and running the company is getting tough for him. Your uncle Justin and I aren’t interested in business, so we need you to step in.” Emmett looked at her with a hint of indulgence. “Of course, if you have other plans, let me know. I will support you, always.”
With just these words, Lexie’s suppressed grievances burst out.
She was such an idiot to fail those who genuinely care about her, and ran to a shameless jerk. Grandpa’s probably shaking his head in disappointment.
Fighting back tears, she choked out, “Thank you, Uncle Emmett.”
“You are my dearest niece. If I don’t take care of you, who else will?” Emmett gently patted her head, his eyes filled with indulgence. “Take care of yourself. That’s your top priority now, okay? I’ll come to see you in a couple of days.”
After Emmett left, Lexie gazed at the sunlight outside the window, and decided to take a walk. It was a good sunny day, and it’s time to move on.
Abbie stood on the veranda, watching Lexie sitting under a tree.
Even in ordinary patient clothing, Lexie couldn’t hide her inherent elegance, effortlessly captivating
attention.
If you had to use flowers to explain how beautiful she was, forgot lilies; she’s more of a dazzling red rose. Nothing can compare to that captivating red.
“It’s surprising that we meet again so soon,” a voice came from behind. Lexie turned to see Abbie, her expression instantly turning frosty.
Abbie stared at her with a smug smile, greeting her in a triumphant tone. “Lexie, long time no see.”
Lexie shot a narrowed look, and this cold vibe just set in. “Ms. Dillard, you really don’t give up, do you!”
“You know, I sometimes pity you, Ms. Baily.” Abbie totally ignored Lexie and continued her speech. “I mean, seriously, how much time can someone spend chasing a guy who doesn’t feel the same way for

three whole years?”
All of a sudden, her eyes flickered, and tears started to flow. She held onto Lexie’s arm, saying, “Lexie, it’s all my fault. Please forgive me…”
“Don’t touch me!” Lexie furrowed her brows, disgusted, and pushed Abbie away.
Despite not using much force, Lexie watched as Abbie flew backward.
Just as Lexie was surprised, a stern voice rang out from behind, “Lexic, what are you doing!”
Hearing Callum’s voice, Lexie immediately understood how Abbie had suddenly changed from a smug winner to a pitiful victim.
So, Abbie’s game plan was to be the sweet victim taken down by a jealous drama queen. Lexie grinned. She was all in to nail her part. Why waste the perfectly set scene, right?
