Chapter 12: Separation Panic
Maldor stood up and said "in the worst possible scenario, we will go back in time and alter it but this could cause ripples that could destabilize time itself and Victoria's powers would still activate and send her there whether we know about it or not". After discussing a few more things, the gods left and Paula headed back home. Victoria tugged on Julie's pants and said "Gram gram I'm hungry" and she smiled and said "don't worry I'm going to make you some nice breakfast and then we'll play with your toys...does that sound good". Victoria said" I'll just eat and go to sleep afterward, I'm still tired" and Julie said, "well okay sweetie if that's what you want".
After eating, Julie showed Victoria to her room before unpacking her clothes, tucking her in, and closing the door. She walked down the hall to her mother's room, and knocked on the door before coming in and sitting in one of the chairs". Joanna smiled and said "what's wrong sweetie?" and Julie sighed and said "Victoria is acting weird...I can tell she knows something is wrong but I don't know how to distract her from it".
Joanna smiled and said, "we're gonna have to play genie for the next few days and fulfill her deepest fantasies, no matter how ridiculous". Julie said, "how...I don't have powers". Joanna reached in her drawer and handed her a large wad of cash and said "here...this is 12,000 dollars of the insurance money we got all those years ago". Julie tried to give it back and said "no mom keep your money, but she pushed her hand away and said "I've got plenty more left, that's only One-third of the money they gave me for your great grandmother's vintage, diamond-encrusted, gold plated Rolex" as well as her necklaces that were destroyed in the fire". Joanna smiled and said "take that money and make my grandbaby a princess wonderland" and Julie said," I will mom...and thanks".
While Victoria was sleeping, Julie called Elizabeth and Paula on conference call and said " I know you guys are busy but I need your help cheering Victoria up". Elizabeth said "of course mom, I can take off from my lectures for a few days" and Paula said "same...the store will be fine without me for a few days, you know imma take care of my niece".
Julie said "thank you" and they both said "what did you have in mind to cheer her up" and Julie laughed a bit before saying "I have nothing... we'll talk when you get here". They both said "okay" before she ended the conference call and walked into her home office and sat at her desk for a few hours just trying to absorb this whole predicament. She was worried for Victoria, her parents, and the rest of the family as she remembered what happened when Andrea and jay died the first time and it was scary but she knew the best thing she could do was focus and take care of Victoria which is what Andrea would want.
A couple of hours later, around 2 pm Paula arrived, and an hour later, came Elizabeth. After they both got settled in, Julie walked in, took a seat, and said" Victoria's now awake, but she won't come out that room, she just keeps saying she's tired but I know she's traumatized...I could hear her muffled screams for her parents, while she was sleeping earlier". Paula said "wait here, I'll go talk to her...no offense Elizabeth but she's kinda closer with me... And Elizabeth said, "none taken...now go". Paula walked up the stairs and down the hall to a door that said "Victoria's playhouse" on it and slowly opened the door to find Victoria gone and the window wide open with a rope made of curtains hanging down. Paula gasped before "yelling " Julie get up here!". After hearing Paula's tone; her and Elizabeth rushed up the stairs and saw what had caused her to yell.
Julie headed back downstairs where Raul and Joanna were now standing and she said" call everyone with a car; Victoria ran away". Raul nodded before heading off in his truck to go grab some workers to help with the somewhere out there was a scared confused 7-year-old girl and they were going to find her even if they had to move heaven and earth to do so.
