Chapter 78
When she saw Kenneth in a wheelchair, a flash of pain crossed Donna's eyes as she pushed Angela aside and approached him. "How can you still defend Angela when you're like this?" she exclaimed. Kenneth frowned, "My car accident had nothing to do with her."
Donna scoffed coldly, "Would you have had an accident if you weren't going to the Courthouse for a divorce?"
"It's something no one could have predicted," Kenneth explained.
"Enough, I don't want to hear it. I'll pack your things; you're coming home with me now."
Kenneth's expression turned cold. "I'm not going back."
"I won't let you stay with this woman!"
"She is my wife, and she has a name. Even if you don't like her, I hope you can respect her."
Donna was shocked, unable to believe how much Kenneth's attitude towards Angela had changed while she was abroad.
Donna said, "Kenneth, she will only hurt you. Come back with me, and I'll handle the divorce."
Kenneth looked at Donna coldly and angrily said, "This is between her and me. Please, don't interfere."
Donna, furious and pale, raised her voice as she shouted, "Kenneth, are you trying to piss me off? Do you know how terrified I was when I heard about your paralysis? And now you're angry with me over the person who caused your accident?"
Kenneth's eyes grew colder. "How did you find out about my accident?"
Kenneth had instructed his subordinates not to inform Donna and Richard about his accident; they should have only found out when they returned for Beatrice's birthday.
Donna glanced away guiltily, unable to meet Kenneth's gaze.
He sometimes intimidated her.
"It doesn't matter how I found out, but I will never let you be with Angela!"
Kenneth meant everything to Donna; she couldn't live without him.
He said, "I won't go back. I'll have Tom take you back to Sinclair Manor."
"Kenneth!" Donna, her face ashen with rage, exclaimed, "Are you trying to piss me off?"
Kenneth didn't look at her again, turning to Angela. "I need to take a bath; help me."
Angela didn't want to face Donna alone. She had been fed up enough with Donna's slap earlier. However, Kenneth's accident was indeed related to her.
But if Donna hit her again, she wouldn't hold back anymore!
Approaching Kenneth to push his wheelchair, she was suddenly shoved aside by Donna.
Donna shouted, "Get lost! Don't come near Kenneth again!"
Angela smiled, "Fine, I have work tomorrow. I'll leave Mr. Sinclair to you."
Then, she turned and left.
After Angela walked away, Donna moved to push Kenneth's wheelchair. But he pressed the wheelchair's button, turning to face her.
Although he was sitting in the wheelchair, Kenneth looked imposing.
"Mom, let me be clear: I won't divorce Angela. You'd better give up on that idea!"
Donna bit her lip, frustrated. "Why? You married her under duress! Now Jennifer is back. You should divorce her to marry Jennifer!"
Donna believed Jennifer, whom she had watched grow up, was the perfect one Kenneth would marry.
She thought Angela, a country girl, was already lucky to have been with Kenneth for three years.
He said, "I won't marry Jennifer. If you like her so much, you can adopt her as your daughter, but don't force me."
Donna looked at him in disbelief. "Didn't you used to like Jennifer? Don't tell me you've fallen for Angela!"
Kenneth frowned, "What does this have to do with it?"
"Why won't you divorce her? She's not on good terms with the Lewis family. If you married Jennifer, you'd have the Lewis family as a backing. Staying with Angela gets you nothing!" Kenneth looked at her coldly. "I don't need a woman to anchor my career!"
Seeing Kenneth so stubborn, Donna felt a pain in her chest with frustration.
She asked, "So you refuse to divorce no matter what?"
"Yes!"
"Fine, then I'll talk to Angela myself!"
"If you pressure her, I won't see you again."
Donna's eyes reddened with anger, but more than that, she felt sad.
She asked, "You're threatening me over a woman?"
Kenneth's expression was

"Fine! Kenneth, you'll regret this!"
Donna stormed off furiously.
Their conversation was loud enough for Angela to overhear some of it from the bedroom.
It was only when she heard the door slam shut and the living room quiet down that Angela knew Donna had left.
Angela got up to wash up and sleep, but then there was a knock at the door.
Opening it, she was met with Kenneth's expressionless face.
He said, "Angela, did you forget you promised to bathe me?"
Angela was speechless.
She agreed only to avoid facing Donna. Now that Donna was gone, she wouldn't let Kenneth tease her again.
She said, "Mr. Sinclair, I know you can bathe yourself. I'm really tired and need to sleep."
As she turned to leave, Kenneth suddenly grabbed her wrist.
Then, Angela was pulled into his embrace.
She sat on his lap, their faces only inches apart, close enough to see the fine hairs on each other's faces.
Angela's heart raced uncontrollably.
Realizing what was happening, she bit her lip. "Let go of me!"
She tried to break free from Kenneth's grip, but it only brought them closer.
Then, Kenneth suddenly groaned, and Angela felt something pressing against her.
Realizing what it was, her face flushed red with anger. "Jerk!"
Kenneth firmly gripped her waist, holding her tighter.
"You rubbing against me. Of course I would get hard."
"Let go of me!"
"Would you help me with my bath?"
"No!"
"Then I won't let you go!"
Angela's face flushed. She felt a mix of embarrassment and anger.
She said, "Kenneth, you jerk!"
"I'll take that as compliment."
They remained in the same posture for a while, but eventually, Angela gave in.

The following day, not long after starting work, Brenda hurriedly came to find Angela.
She said, "Ms. Lewis, I need to take three days off!"
Seeing the anxiety on her face, Angela was surprised. "Why do you need such a long break? Is it because of Henry?"
