All of Katherine’s schemes were her father’s brainchild, aimed at toppling the Shane empire.

With the Shane family now divided and their stocks in freefall, Mr. Lynn had gotten what he wanted.

But Katherine’s ambitions had grown; she saw Terry as her ticket out of the Lynn family..

Her plan was simple: marry Terry or be cast out by the Lynns.

She tried visiting Bob in the hospital but was turned away.

Rumors even circulated that Bob had met with Terry’s cousin, hinting he might cut Terry loose.

This made Katherine desperate.

One day, she snuck out, with Terry secretly tailing her.

I tagged along, curious to see the drama unfold..

In an abandoned factory on the outskirts of town, Katherine was plotting with some men.

I recognized them immediately–the same guys who’d kidnapped us years ago.

“I want you to kidnap Terry, just like y did with Wendy,”

Katherine said, her designer outfit a stark contrast to the grungy surroundings.

“I bet Bob won’t ignore his own son’s life. You’ll get five million when it’s done.”

“Ms. Lynn, five million dollars aren’t enough for this risk. Mr. Shane’s not like Ms. Lowe,” one kidnapper replied.

“We want ten.”

The kidnappers, sensing an opportunity, started haggling with Katherine.

I watched this unfold, my gaze drifting to Terry hidden in the shadows nearby.

His face was a storm of emotions–regret and fury battling for dominance.

“Fine. Ten million once I’m Mrs. Shane.”

Terry couldn’t take it anymore. He emerged from the shadows, his voice dripping with anger.
