Devoted: A Dark Mafia Romance (Beneath The Mask Series Book 3)

Devoted: Chapter 56

The last time I was on a plane, we flew back to Italy to have mom buried. In hindsight, I think I was in a better mood then. My calves are bruised from Dante bouncing his heavy duffle against me as we walk. The dread of being cooped up in a room with him for the duration of our trip makes my stomach roll.

We take our seats on the private jet. I squeeze in next to the window, and Dante thuds down next to me.

Luca walks down the aisle with his mirrored shades on. I can tell he’s looking dead at me, just by that little grin on his face. He stops at the row in front and takes the seat right in front of mine.

Maria’s irritating voice booms through as she enters, and I watch as Luca visibly cringes at her entrance.

“Luca, baby. I want the window seat.”

He pushes the glasses back on top of his head and shoots her a look, sitting himself down on the window seat. I bite back a snicker.

Dante leans in, and I pull away. “All that arguing they do I bet makes for some great sex,” he says loud enough for Luca to hear.

I swallow the lump in my throat, ignoring him.

I know he’s wrong. But that doesn’t stop the clawing jealousy that rips through me that she might be the one that gets to keep him. If we can’t figure this out in time, he probably will sleep with his own wife.

“Dante, Maddie is insisting on sitting with Rosa, some girly talk or some shit. You’re up front with me. Leave them to it.” Grayson points to the chair in the front.

Maria’s head whips around to me and shoots me eye daggers through the center of the seats.

With a huff, Dante moves, and I can finally breathe again.

Maddie strolls back and plops down next to me, groaning as she tries to get comfortable with her swollen baby belly.

“Thank you,” I mouth to her.

“Anytime.” She smiles. “Plus, it means I get to read my smut in peace without Grayson wanting to put his dick inside me. I mean, I love it, but it’s hard work when you’re pregnant!”

I can’t help but giggle.

“I thought you get super horny when you’re pregnant,” I whisper.

“I was, before I became the size of a beached whale. Turns out, that just made my husband even harder for me.” She nods her head to Grayson’s blonde head, biting back a smile.

“Don’t make me drag your ass in that bathroom, sunshine. You know I will,” he calls out from the front of the plane.

“Oh, I dare you,” Maddie shouts back, her cheeks as red as an apple.

“You want it just as badly as he does.” I nudge her shoulder.

“Shh. Don’t tell him that. Because he will barge over here. And I want to spend some time with you.”

“Aww, that’s nice. Since I stopped partying so much, I barely hear from my ‘friends’ anymore.”

“Well, you don’t need those assholes anymore. You’ve got me and Sienna now.”

“I appreciate that.”

She leans in and whispers, “I can see all of our kids, including yours and—” She widens her eyes and gestures toward Luca sitting in front of me. “—well, you know who’s kid’s running loops around us while we sit and sunbathe. Having afternoon tea, as Sienna calls it.” She winks exaggeratedly and smiles.

“I don’t know if that will ever happen.” I round my shoulders. It’s true, and it hurts.

Maddie raises an eyebrow and looks at the wall next to me. I frown and turn to find Luca’s hand, slotted through the gap between the seat and the wall. He starts motioning me with his finger.

I grab his hand, and he puts something in mine. I take it back and unravel the crumpled receipt he placed there and read the scribbled handwriting.

You will have my babies. All five of them.

My cheeks start to heat as I shove the note down my bra.

Maddie chuckles next to me, flicking open her Kindle. “What did I tell you?”

I stand and wait for my luggage to appear from the hole in the wall. Dante has already retrieved his and headed out to the car waiting outside. Everyone else has gone, except for me.

I jump out of my skin as arms wrap around my waist. As soon as that musky smell hits my nostrils, I know it’s Luca.

He nuzzles his face into the crook of my neck and tickles me with his lips.

“That note. I meant it,” he murmurs into my cheek.

“Hmm hmm,” I hum, biting back the grin on my face.

“What are you doing back here?” I turn to face him.

“Wanted to steal a quick kiss from my girl.” He leans forward and presses his lips to mine.

“Much better. I can’t stand being in the same room as you and not being able to touch you. We’re going to have to find a way to be together on this trip. It’s been so long. I need to be inside you.”

I know what he means.

No matter how much sexting we do or phone sex, it will never, ever beat the real deal. I’m just hoping after what happened at my dress fitting, he will stop backing me into a corner about why I’m marrying Dante. It’s to protect everyone. I can’t have him flipping out, murdering everyone, and risking their lives. His fiancé’s family threatened a baby. I can’t have that on my conscience. I’m protecting him, whether he likes it or not.

Leaning my forehead on his shoulder, I let myself enjoy the heat of his body pressing against mine. “I’m sure we can figure it out.”

“I spent the entire flight on Google Maps pinpointing fuckable locations. I’m ready to go.”

“No, you did not!” I hit his chest, and he pins my hand over his heart.

“You bet your ass I did. I’m desperate for my next Rosa fix. I’m even debating dragging you into those disabled toilets over there.” Cupping my ass, he turns my body to the wall of bathroom doors.

“Eww. No thanks.”

“Fine. Just be ready, gorgeous. I’m coming for you. Then I’ll be coming inside you.” He rolls his hips and presses his hard bulge against my side, proving how urgent he is already.

I clench my legs together, my body on fire for him.

“Just tell me the time and place.” I push up to whisper in his ear, “I’m always wet for you. Even now, from one kiss, I’m soaked.”

He pulls back and shakes his head.

“Fucking hell, Rosa,” he groans.

The carousel beeps and starts moving, and my pink bag is hurled out.

Luca grabs it before it passes.

“Let’s go, before I bend you over right now.”

I let out a breath and look over to the bathrooms.

“You said no.” He grins and shrugs at me, walking towards the exit.

I run after him and pull him back before he reaches the security door. We’re safe in here. Everyone else has left through customs and they can’t get back in.

I crash my lips over his. People complain behind us as we block the door, but I don’t care. He deepens the kiss, I lean back, and he moans into my mouth. My arms encircle his neck as he cups my ass and squeezes.

We don’t get many moments where we can pretend we’re really just a couple in love.
