After Achira and I had eaten, we put the dishes in the dishwasher.

"I'd like to go into the garden, if you don't mind..." I said to her, biting my lower lip.

She nodded: 'Absolutely, fresh air is good for you. Although the weather isn't great here either. December is doing its job and I should get the Christmas decorations out of the cellar and finally decorate the house." Achira replied.

I had to smile, I had last celebrated Christmas with my parents shortly before I was abducted by Arnor.

I nodded slightly, "Thanks, for everything." I smiled at her uncertainly and then finally put my boots on and ran out of the door into the garden.

It was all covered in snow and there was a cold wind blowing. I walked into Ilay's huge garden and looked at the rose bushes, which were covered in snow. As I walked on, I spotted a bench and sat down. I sighed softly and didn't really know what to do. 'You worry too much, Catherine...' Rose whispered sleepily.

My heart leapt and I felt joy. 'Rose! At last... I've missed you so much...'

'Yes, your jump was not without its problems, but I can see that we have more problems... Do you really trust this demon?' she asked me uncertainly.

'Do I have any other choice? They are both my companions and both have already marked us...' My shoulders slumped and I stared at the ground.

I huffed angrily and ran up the stairs to the room.

Once I was inside, I turned back and locked the door as well. I couldn't take anyone else tonight.

I went to the closet and got dressed again. I took out something comfortable and had picked out a pair of ribbed knit trousers in dark gray and a matching sweater that was a little oversized.

I finally sat down on the windowsill and looked out. I wonder what will become of it? Ilay and Ryan had made their position very clear to me. Ilay didn't want Ryan and Ryan wanted Ilay dead.

I took the fluffy blanket that was on the chair and pulled it over my body. I sighed softly and leaned my head against the window, which was cool.

The sun had already gone down and there was nothing to see but darkness.

"Cate... Please, we both messed up, we can both talk about it like adults." He pulled me closer to him and put his big, strong arms around me, pulling me into a semi-recumbent hug.

"What more do we want to talk about? Apparently this whole thing isn't working... I can't turn you or Ilay down and neither of you will even come close to meeting me, you nearly killed each other earlier..." I said angrily and tried to pull out of his arms, but he held me tight as if his life depended on it.

"You have to listen to me, Cate... We've come to an agreement." he finally said, making me sit up and take notice. I frowned and looked up at him. "You two came to an agreement?" I asked him, irritated.

Ryan nodded and Ilay stepped forward in the background.

"We'll get our act together..." Ilay said and came closer and closer to us.

Ilay sat down on the other side and looked at me with his green eyes. "We both want you." he finally said.

I sighed and sat up. "Oh yeah? You nearly killed each other earlier..." They knew very well what I was talking about.

I heard the gulp from Ryan clearly, "We're serious, Catherine. We care about you and apparently we have to accept our fate." he said, pinching the bridge of his nose.

I laughed softly and shook my head "I want to see that first. Because I don't believe a single word you say."
