Demon (BoyxBoy) Book 1

Chapter 8

Seth’s POV

We sat in Jayce’s living room, watching him pour us cups of tea. He had a silk red robe on, his hair was slicked back due to washing it. He had a faint smile on his lips, glancing up at Jaxon and I briefly.

″I wanted to apologize for my lack of presence lately boys, I haven’t felt well...″ He finally said, handing a teacup to both Jaxon and I.

″It’s okay, Jayce. You seemed shaken up when you gave me my memories back.″ I replied. He nodded softly, glancing up at Jaxon.

″So you trained with Seth today?″ He asked, bringing the teacup up to his lips. Jaxon slowly nodded, glancing over in my direction.

″Yes, we made some progress.″ He stated.

″What happened exactly?″ Jayce asked, placing his teacup onto the coffee table. His facial expression looked twisted in concern, maybe scared.

″In his memories, his mother mentioned him being able to kill things with simply a touch. Obviously, Seth couldn’t control what he was doing-″

″What happened?″ Jayce repeated himself. Jaxon stood up, walking over to him and sitting down onto the couch. He placed a hand on his back, patting it gently.

″Look at him, Jayce. He’s okay, there’s no need to get worried.″ Jaxon said softly. Jayce looked over to me, and I flashed him a smile.

″After seeing what he’s gone through, I can’t help but be worried...″ He murmured.

″I could handle myself, Jayce. I’m not a child.″ I assured him, and both Jaxon and Jayce started laughing. I rolled my eyes, realizing once again that they were both warlocks... and were probably hundreds of years old.

″Can we get on with it?″ I asked them, breaking them out of their laughter.

″Of course, my prince,″ Jaxon said casually, sitting down next to me.

″As we have spoken of, Seth has the ability to kill things within a touch. It seems he lost control of it, and he didn’t particularly have to touch anything. He stood right in his place, and the nature around us began to die.″ Jaxon explained, and I watched as Jayce’s face turned into a look of amazement.

″Didn’t you have a barrier up?″ Jayce asked.

″Yes, it held him just fine until his abilities began to show...″

Jayce slowly nodded, his eyes slowly inspecting me. His eyes shined a powerful bright blue, they seemed almost like glass.

″What triggered his powers, Jaxon?″ He asked suddenly, breaking his gaze from me. Jaxon’s eyes grew wide, and I watched as he bit his lip nervously.

″I noticed how his powers came to be the first time. His mother was arguing with him, telling him nasty things... and in his memories too, it seemed his mother triggered him... so I began to tell him about his mother.″ Jaxon said. I wasn’t angry with him, everything he said was true. It was the only thing he could do...

″That’s one way you could do it... so you’re telling me you destroyed my garden?″ He asked both of us. I felt the smile grow on my lips as I shook my head.

″Your garden is just fine, Jayce,″ I said.

″That’s what I don’t understand... when I began to calm him down, everything went back to normal. The grass and trees came back to life, his wings retracted-″

″So it’s true,″ Jayce said, his voice full of astonishment. ″You have wings?″

I slowly nodded, watching the growing smile on his face. It was still a strange concept to me... what was I? am I a demon? am I an angel?

″But you’re right Jaxon... it’s strange that everything came back to life. I’ve only heard of such a thing with pure angels and warlocks...″ He continued. He sat back on the couch, bringing his hand up to his face. He looked deep in thought, trying to figure out why I would have the ability to do that. I was obviously not a pure angel... my wings were jet black, my hair is black... everything about me is just... dark. Obviously, besides my skin color, I just radiated the opposite of pure.

″Maybe this has to do with the angel I saw in your memories...″ Jayce finally said, glancing over to me. I didn’t recall seeing an angel in them...

″I didn’t see an angel...″ I said softly. He slowly nodded, standing up swiftly and walking out of the living room. Jaxon and I followed him into the house, trying to keep up with his pace.

He walked into his library, and I couldn’t help but be amazed by the number of books on the shelves. It looked like the large library I had back in my kingdom, it was always filled with plenty of books for my people.

He twirled his fingers, and a book from the top shelf immediately came to his hand. He placed it on the table, flipping through it.

″I remember distinctly what the angel looked like, blond curls rested on top of his head... his eyes were almost a fire color...″ He said in a rush, flipping through the book. I looked over to Jaxon, his eyes were staring at the floor. He looked as if he were in a daze, deep in thought about something.

″AH!″ Jayce yelled, breaking Jaxon out of the daze he was in. We both walked over to the table, looking at the book. He was pointing to an angel, the description of the picture was named ‘Ariel’.

″I saw Ariel in your memories, the angel of nature. He was there at your birth... along with your father, I saw it...″ He said to me excitedly.

″Why would he be there? Wouldn’t the angels hate me?″ I asked. He quickly shook his head no, his face twisted in a smile.

″Ariel gifted you at your birth, Seth. He knew the powers you would have, so he gave you some good qualities I suppose... Thank Ariel for saving my garden!″ Jayce said, and I couldn’t help but laugh. Why would an angel be at my birth besides my father? Wouldn’t the angels want nothing to do with me? I’m the offspring of their worst enemy...

Suddenly, the sound of heels filled my ears. They clashed against the cold floor, walking into the library. I turned my head, my eyes landing on the girl in front of me.

She had long black raven hair, her eyes were red, but more of a pink color. She wore heavy makeup, but she made it look very nice. Her red lipstick looked almost blood red against her snow white skin; I could tell that she was, in fact, a vampire. She smiled in my direction, her fangs were showing proudly.

″Prince Seth, it’s lovely to finally see you!″ She said, her voice was as soft as honey. She walked over to me, her hand extended. I took her smaller hand in mine, shaking it gladly. She had a big smile on her lips, and seemed almost in a daze.

Jaxon cleared his throat, walking over to the vampire and I. He flashed the girl a smile, crossing his arms.

″What could we do for you, Elena?″ He said, his voice almost sounding angry. She rolled her eyes, and I watched as they flashed a bright red. She took her hand out of mine, walking closer to Jaxon.

″I don’t want you to do anything for me.″ She said softly. I looked over to Jaxon, and I couldn’t help but notice his eyes growing yellow... I guess he was getting angry.

″I suppose you two have a history?″ I asked. I watched the growing smirk on his lips, glancing over to me.

″Why yes... we do.″ He murmured.

″I’m not proud of it, and I’m sure he’s not either.″ She said carelessly, walking over to Jayce.

″Darling, what did you need from me?″ She asked him, breaking his direction from the book in his hands.

″I wanted you to show Seth around our territory, maybe bring him to the bar you’re fond of... and yes, you have to bring Jaxon.″ He demanded. She let out an annoyed growl, not daring to glance at him.

″Elena... I don’t usually like to interfere with whatever you two had, but it was completely your fault. Plus, it was centuries ago... you’re both immortal, so you’ll have to deal with each other.″ He said softly. She let out a loud gasp, her eyebrows furrowing.

″Do this one thing for me.″ He said in almost a question, but I knew that it was a demand. I watched as she slowly nodded her head, turning around and facing us.

″Let’s go, shall we?″

-------------------------------------------------------

I always wondered since I was young where the warlocks, vampires, fairies or any mythical creature spent their days. I pictured it to be a very dark and gloomy place... but it was definitely the opposite. It looked kind of like a place in new york; it had various shops running up its sidewalks. My kingdom, only about four hours away, was very organized and old fashion. Jaxon told me that the streets were protected by magic, that if any human wanted to start a war and target their home, they were safe.

Elena guided us into a bar, the smell of alcohol filling my nose. The room was dark, there was few lighting. It was a pretty small bar, but a lot of people were packed into it.

″You guys have a drink or something... I’m going to go in the back.″ She said, making my gaze land on the men sitting at the back table. They had a smirk on their faces, looking directly at Elena.

″Ah yes... go do what you do best Elena,″ Jaxon said coldly. Elena rolled her eyes, raising her hand and flipping him off with her black painted fingers. Jaxon went to speak, but before he could she walked away.

″She seems like a ray of sunshine...″ I muttered to him. He rolled his eyes, guiding me over to the bar.

″Far from it, night’s children always seem to be adventurous...″ He replied, motioning for a bartender to come over to us.

″Jaxon Di Angelo, always nice to see you...″ A man said as he approached us, two glasses were in his hands. He filled the glasses up, placing them down with ease in front of us. ″Elena is here I see.″

″How could you not notice her... grinding all over men she doesn’t know...″ Jaxon said, making the man laugh.

″I’m sure someday she’ll come to her senses, enjoy your drinks.″

Jaxon brought the drink up to his lips, glancing over at me. He flashed me a smile once he put the drink down.

″So what’s with you and Elena?″ I asked him.

″Ah... centuries ago she and I were together... didn’t end well.″ He replied. I couldn’t help but frown... what happened?

″What didn’t go well?″

″Well... we were going to be married, actually. I proposed to her, she was everything I desired in a person. She said yes... the next day I found her in bed with some werewolf...″ He muttered. I couldn’t help but gasp and feel sorry for him. She had the nerve to act hostile towards him... I don’t get some people. She kind of reminds me of my mother... Of course, finding out Lucifer is the father of your child isn’t the greatest, but she made him out to be the enemy.

″That’s awful Jaxon...″ I said. He nodded slowly, glancing over in her direction. She was sitting on a stranger’s lap, a glass of whiskey in her hand.

″What about you, Seth? Anyone special in your life?″ He asked suddenly, breaking his gaze from Elena. I couldn’t help but smile, thinking back to the ball I was having because of my mother.

″I’ve never dated before, actually. Though I was supposed to be married recently...″ I mumbled. He furrowed his eyebrows, and he seemed to look amused.

“Marriage, huh? Was that your mother’s idea?” He asked.

“Yes... I never really found a want to be with someone, all the women in my kingdom I wasn’t really fond of.” I replied, taking my drink to my lips.

“What about men?”

I never really thought about that possibility. I don’t hate the idea of being with one, I think all people are beautiful in their own way.

“I suppose that wouldn’t be an issue. Never thought of being with a man.” I admitted.

“Humans have a strange way to look at things... they classify who they love into some type of ‘sexuality.’ Warlocks and vampires have never looked at their partner based on their gender... we are immortal, we find beauty in all sorts of people.”

I really thought that was beautiful... and I can’t help but agree.

“Have you met anyone else after Elena?”

His smile slowly turned into a frown, breaking our gaze from each other. He shook his head no, tapping his finger against the glass.

“That was about one hundred years ago... so I haven’t dated since.”

“That’s a long time, Jaxon... aren’t you lonely?” I asked him. I was surprised at myself for asking him that, but I felt comfortable with him, and I don’t think he would mind.

“I should be asking you that, darling. Haven’t even had your first kiss yet?” He asked me. I felt my face flush red, breaking our gaze from each other.

“How adorable.” I heard him say. “Lucifer’s son... the most attractive being ever created, not having his first kiss.” He went on. I couldn’t help but laugh, gazing in his direction. The frown that was on his lips from Elena was no were to be seen, but rather than that... he was smiling. He has awfully a nice smile if I do say so myself.

“Thank you, Seth.”

“...Did I say that out loud?”

“Yeah you did, Angel.”
