Demon (BoyxBoy) Book 1

Chapter 23

One day later, Avel’s hanging.

Seth’s POV

I gazed into the mirror as I buttoned up my shirt. Jayce said that we must dress appropriately... It is a serious matter. Avel Argyros is a big historic figure... a big historic figure who is finally getting what he deserves.

My eyes lingered up to my head. The black curls were resting on top of it... but no crown. I haven’t worn my crown since we went to the other dimension. I’m still the prince of France... they haven’t had the traditional ceremony for Jules. My people wouldn’t do such a thing for him anyways... He’s looking after the kingdom for now. He wanted to take things over... but he won’t. Jayce’s spies have been looking after the kingdom for a while now. They report back and say Jules is hiding in the Queen’s room, clenching a sword and waiting for my return. He hasn’t slept... hasn’t eaten. Estelle has tried to make him eat for weeks now... of course, she’d force feed him soup amongst other things.

Estelle has watched over the kingdom... if you come to think of it. She’s been giving food to the poor, comforting the children. They tell the children that I’m okay... that I’m going to return. That regardless of what I am they still love me. The children always get excited when they come around in the morning... they call her the ‘Curly haired Goddess.’

I felt a smile lingering on my lips. I knew my kingdom was safe in her hands. We aren’t children anymore... I could trust her. I will return momentarily.

My eyes wandered over to the dresser in my bedroom. My crown rested there... It seemed to stare at me with a glare. It was clean... but it isn’t polished the way Valentin would do it. It’s insane how your life could be altered in a matter of a month...

I slowly walked over to the dresser, the rubies glistening in the light. I’m not in the other dimension anymore... so why shouldn’t I wear it? If I’m being honest... I feel naked without it. I’ve grown up wearing it. It symbolizes who I am and who I will be someday... Of course, when I’m King of France, I will wear my grandfathers crown. It obviously wasn’t passed down to my father. It is the King’s crown... not the prince’s.

I placed the crown on my head, walking back over to the body mirror. The outfit I was wearing reminded me of the night of the ball. One of the other maids dressed me... she said that it suited me. I wore a black button down, black dress pants and a black tie. I fastened the belt around my waist, completing the look. Jayce told us we had to dress formally... It’s a serious thing and we would be in the presence of the elder angels.

I made my way out into the living room, the sound of talking filled my ears. They were speaking in hushed tones... I wouldn’t imagine anything less. We weren’t really going anywhere exciting...

Everyone wore dark colored outfits. Jayce wore a plum-colored suit along with a tie. Elena wore a tight-fitting black dress along with black heels. Magdalene wore something similar to Elena’s... I’m guessing she borrowed one of her dresses. Jin was staring at Magdalene with wide eyes, a deep blush spreading across his face as she spoke to him. He wore a dark red button up shirt along with black pants.

Jaxon was speaking to a guy I didn’t quite know... but I couldn’t help but notice how handsome Jaxon looked. His dark brown wavy hair rested on his head messily. He wore a grey button up shirt that was tight fitting. He wore black dress pants, his shoes matching the color of his pants.

″Good afternoon Seth, you look amazing,″ Jaxon said to me, breaking me out of my thoughts. He motioned for me to join them with a soft smile on his lips.

I examined the boy Jaxon was speaking to more clearly. He had dark brown hair to his shoulders, his eyes were also dark brown. His skin tone was almost a caramel color; a little lighter. You could tell that he was Native American... and a werewolf.

He had to be at least 6′8...Maybe even taller. He was extremely muscular. It looked like he was about to burst out of the shirt he was wearing.

″Seth... your highness. It’s... wonderful to finally meet you.″ He said to me, his gaze staring directly at my crown. I couldn’t help but let out a laugh as he tried to kneel down to me...

″You don’t have to kneel, you know...″ I muttered, hearing the soft laugh of Jaxon behind me. I watched as Elena glanced over to us, a small smile lingering on her lips. She started to walk over to us, Magdalene and Jin following her.

″Darling... you’ll hurt yourself.″ She said to him, gazing up at him with a soft smile. He nodded his head, looking down sheepishly at me.

″Sorry... I just feel like it was needed...″ He said with a soft smile. ″I’m Dakota Moore... Elena’s boyfriend. It’s really nice to meet you.″ He repeated himself... he must have been nervous.

″No need to be nervous Dakota. He’s a sweet boy.″ Jayce said as he approached us, a smirk lingering on his lips. He must have known about who my father was... and my role in the human world. I mean... I think everyone in the mythical world knew by now.

″Are you going to be joining us, Dakota?″ I asked him. He nodded his head, a faint blush lingering on his cheeks. He was rather blushy and kind for a man his size...

″Yes... my pack is being difficult. They don’t really like going to the elder angels dimension... the doors are too small to fit into. I don’t really know how I’m going to get into the doors myself...″ He rambled to himself, his eyebrows furrowing. Elena giggled softly, wrapping her arms around his. They were awfully adorable together...

″That’s okay, Dakota. I’m glad you’re going... we need all the comforting we could get.″ Jayce mumbled. He was right... Jayce described it to me. It was going to be brutal...

Jayce clasped his hands together, thrusting his hand forward. A blue portal appeared in front of us. All of us looked at it blankly for about a good minute... Today was going to be a rough day. Though I’m glad he’s finally going to get what he deserves.

Jayce held out his hands to Jin and Magdalene, which they took gratefully. They pilled into the portal, Elena and Dakota followed behind them... Dakota was rambling on about how the doors and portals Jayce makes are too small for him.

″Are you ready, Angel?″ Jaxon asked me. I flashed him a soft smile, holding out my hand. He took it gratefully, breaking the gaze he had on me and onto the portal. We walked into it together, the thought of Avel on my mind.

------------------------------------------------

We exited the portal, the sound of hushed tones filling my ears. We appeared right in front of the doors... I figured Jayce did that for Dakota.

The room was awfully huge. There were chairs lining up against the walls... all the way down to the stage. There were two nooses hanging from the ceiling... along with a blade... There has to be more than one execution today.

Suddenly, the sound of a trumpet filled my ears. My eyes followed the sound... an Angel was flying in the air. I figured that was the sound for us to take our seats.

A man walked up to Jaxon and I. He was dressed in an outfit that was similar to the uniforms the maids wore at my castle... I figured he was one of the servants for the Angel. He greeted me with a soft smile, bowing before me.

″Seth Lenior, It’s lovely to meet you. I’ve been told to escort you to your seat, along with Jaxon here. Your family is being seated now.″ He informed me. I felt a blush spread across his face once he said ‘family.’ He must have meant Jayce and the others... I suppose he’s right. I live with them now... they feed me. They take care of me.

He guided us down a long set of stairs... and I couldn’t help but notice the stares I was getting from everyone. They were speaking in hushed tones... but I still heard them.

Wow... that’s the son of Lucifer?

He’s awfully handsome... he looks magnificent with his soul mate.

Leviathan’s son? I couldn’t have dreamed of a better match myself...

The man guided us to the second row of chairs. Some of the Elder Angel’s would be sitting in front of us... the rest of them on the left side the man told us. He said we were ordered to sit here because of our parents... and of course of what Avel did to me... they think it’s best I get to see it as close as I could. I couldn’t help but feel slightly bad for Ariel. He’s the reason that his son could die now... I can’t imagine the pain he feels.

The sound of clapping filled my ears, the sight of brightness filling the room. I looked to my left, a smile lingering on my lips. The seven angels slowly filled the room... Ariel was the first to come in. He was looking at me with a soft smile, but I couldn’t help but notice the dread in his eyes.

Ariel, Gabriel, Raphael, and Barachiel flew over to our side while Michael, Selaphiel, and Raguel sat on the right side.

″Seth and Jaxon... It’s lovely to see you two. I hate that it’s under circumstances like this.″ Ariel said to us. He had a bright aura around him... his blond curls resting easy. He had a crown of leaves on his head, symbolizing he was the angel of nature.

″Yes... I’m so sorry Ariel. I can’t imagine the pain you’re feeling...″ Jaxon said to Ariel. A small smile lingered on his lips as he took Jaxon’s hand, patting it gently.

″Sometimes in life... we have to let go of things. We have to let go of things that crave to be free... no matter how much you love them.″ He said. Jaxon nodded his head slowly, his eyes seeming distant.

We all sat down in our seats, silence filling the room. We were waiting for Avel to enter the room.

I felt Jaxon slowly intertwine his fingers with mine, breaking my gaze off of the noose in the center of the room. He was looking at me with a soft smile.

″You’re going to be okay, Angel.″ He whispered to me. I nodded my head... But I couldn’t help but feel a gaze on us. I looked in front of us... and the four Angel’s were looking at Jaxon with a big smile.

″Thanks Jaxon!″ They said to him. I couldn’t help but let out a laugh, it echoing throughout the whole room. I placed a hand over my mouth... I shouldn’t be laughing at a time like this.

The sound of chains rattling filled my ears. I looked to my left... and I saw him.

He had tears streaming down his face, his brown eyes puffy and red. He was ushered up to the stairs, to the nooses... a girl following behind him. She had to be the other person to be hanged...

The people who ushered them to the stage pulled two chairs up with them also. They climbed up onto the stairs in silence. They fastened the noose around both of their necks before exiting the stage, standing below it.

″Let’s begin, shall we?″ Uriel said, his voice booming throughout the room. Tears streamed freely down both of their faces... I couldn’t help but frown.

″The woman... she doesn’t have a name. She’s one of the lower class demons... but since she’s committed so many crimes she will be executed to hell here.″ Uriel said to the crowd.

″These are the crimes you committed. You possessed many helpless humans... even along with some royals. One of these royals being Queen Eva of the Breogadel Empire... for five years.″

I felt my jaw drop, gazing up at the demon. She was looking at me with tears in her eyes, mouthing she was sorry over and over again.

″You are just like your father.″

The words flooded out of her mouth, covering her mouth afterward. My mother’s eyes widened, looking over to the Queen. The red in her eyes faded, and I watched as she gained her composure.

″Forgive me, everyone. I’m having a hard day today... we will see you all at the ball tomorrow.″ She said softly.

I should have known... the red in her eyes. I knew something was wrong with her... that’s why she was so fucking annoying.

″Any last words?″ Uriel asked her. Her red eyes gazed over the crowd... then back to me.

″I did it for him. My prince... we are all so desperate for him. We want him to lead us. We are so lonely... He’s so magnificent, can’t you see?-″

″Seth Lenior is, in fact, your prince but he will NOT be joining you. He has his own life on earth. Preying upon him all those years is one of the most disgusting things I have ever heard of. May his father have no mercy on you... He knows of your actions.″ Ariel yelled at her, tears flooding freely down her face.

With a snap of Uriel’s fingers.. the chair fell from below her. The room grew quiet as she struggled for breath against the noose. Avel looked at her in fear, tears flooding more freely down his cheeks.

She died with no other word. Rather than her human body growing limp... She disintegrated before us. It reminded me of when Jaxon shot an arrow through the princesses and Valentin...

″Now... the main event,″ Uriel mumbled. He stood up from his chair... making his way over to the stage.

″I waited for this moment for years. You should have been executed centuries ago, my boy... But your father refused. It is understandable though... but you did something that drove your father into taking your immortality.″ He started... He was angry. I couldn’t see Ariel’s face... but I could tell he was holding back tears.

″You... you took away my daughter. You murdered her because she didn’t want you. I hate to make this personal... but I’m so glad you’re finally being put to rest. My daughter could finally rest easy...″ Uriel’s voice cracked. I felt my heart sink...

I felt Jaxon’s grip on my hand grow tighter.

″You not only took away my daughter... you took away your own mother. All of the Angel’s were so fond of her too! She was such a lively girl... Ariel loved her dearly-″

″NO HE DIDN’T! HE LEFT US WITH NOTHING! MY MOTHER AND I, WE STRUGGLED ON HER FARM... THE PIGS HAD A BETTER LIFE THAN US!″ Avel suddenly screamed at him, his voice shaking.

″THEN WHY DID YOU MURDER YOUR MOTHER? WHY DID YOU MURDER THE ONLY THINK YOU HAD?″

″BECAUSE SHE DIDN’T GIVE ME WHAT I DESERVED! I HOPED THE PLAGUE WOULD TAKE HER... BUT IT DIDN’T! I DIDN’T DESERVE TO LIVE IN HUNGER WHEN MY FATHER WAS LIVING LAVISHLY! I AM A PRINCE!″

″You are no prince, my boy... We serve under God. You were supposed to serve for god... You’re Nephilim. You were supposed to take care of the humans of this earth... you’re half human. You disrespected your kind.″ Uriel said viciously.

Avel stood in silence... he had nothing to say. Uriel slowly glanced back at me, flashing me an apologetic smile.

″Now... the reason you’re here. You tortured Seth Lenior for almost two days nonstop. Seth Lenior... do you have ANY idea who he is?″ He said in almost a whisper. Avel’s lips slowly turned into a smirk, gazing over to me.

″A thief.″

″You’re wrong, my son. I gave that gift to him... It is not yours.″ Ariel spoke up. Avel flashed his father a glare, breaking his gaze from me.

″Seth Lenior. He is the son of Lucifer. Not just that... He is Ella Leniors son. The Queen of France... not only that... He’s Death himself! The Grim Reaper! Do you have any idea what kind of mess you’ve gotten yourself into? You’ve not only messed with royalty in the mythical world... but in the human world!″ Uriel said to him. I furrowed my eyebrows, looking over to Jaxon.

″We will explain later,″ Jaxon whispered in my ear. I nodded my head... I can’t worry about it right now.

″All this talk about humans... humans, humans... they are worthless. Why do you defend them? We deserve a world where we rule over them in POWER! not with LOVE! We are far better than those beings!″ Avel yelled. Uriel shook his head...

″You have no right having those wings... good thing we are taking them.″

Avel’s eyes grew wide, screams leaking out of his throat. He tried to pull himself down from the chair... but the noose pulled him back. It was secured around his throat in a way he couldn’t move.

Uriel let out a deep breath, raising his hand. He clicked his fingers... and the sound of the blade falling from the ceiling filled the room. Avel’s screams increased as the blade fell faster.

It sliced down his back, his wings falling to the ground with a loud smack.

″MAMA!″ He screamed out, his sobs filling the room. Ariel doubled over in his seat, his body shaking with sadness. Jaxon reached out to Ariel, slowly rubbing his back. There were tears lingering in Jaxon’s eyes...

″FATHER HELP ME! WHY ARE YOU JUST SITTING THERE! PLEASE!″ He cried out. ″THEY TOOK THEM AWAY FROM ME! I-″ He cried. Ariel’s body shook heavier...

″You will be with God... due to your father. He knows of your actions. He may be forgiving... but I’m not.″ Uriel whispered.

He clicked his fingers, the sound of the chair leaving from under him filling my ears.

″I-I WILL RETURN, SOMEHOW... I’LL COME BACK FOR YOU SETH LENIOR I-″

He struggled for breath, his eyes rolling back. He pawed at the rope around his neck... but it was no use.

He finally stopped struggling, his body growing limp.

The only sound that was present in the room was Ariel’s sobbing against Jaxon. He held him in a tight embrace...

Jayce wasn’t wrong when he said it would be hard.
