Chapter 71 Down The Stairs
With great difficulty, Rolf had finally seized this opportunity to connect with Colton, hoping to gain some backdoor advantage. Others might not be aware, but he knew what he was doing.
Despite appearances, Cynthia was not just a stunning beauty. In reality, she was the enigmatic chairwoman of Fashn Group.
For many years, Cerise lived with Rolf, and with just one glance, she could tell something was off about him. His feelings toward Cynthia lacked the typical romantic desire between a man and a woman. Instead, they were tinged with a hint of appeasement and caution.
Although she didn’t fully understand, her years of keen intuition led her to close her mouth.
However, after all the trouble Elsa had gone through–to get to this point, she couldn’t possibly give up so easily.
She wanted to raise her voice and say something more when, suddenly, a burst of intense sobbing echoed from the stairwell.
Initially, the ever–composed Cynthia’s face dramatically changed. She could no longer afford. to engage in conversation with them, and immediately lifted her foot, intending to run in that direction.
Believing that she intended to flee, Elsa instinctively positioned herself in front of her.
With a harsh shove, Cynthia pushed her away, her eyes cold and stern. “Buzz off!”
“Colt…” Publicly humiliated, Elsa was filled with resentment. She cast a pitiful glance toward Colton, but to her dismay, Colton’s gaze was fixed solely on Cynthia’s retreating figure.
It was as if a resounding slap had been delivered across Elsa’s face.
With a resentful gaze, she watched as Cynthia walked away. She couldn’t bear it any longer.
Colton failed to notice anything amiss about Elsa.
Just in that fleeting moment, a peculiar feeling surged in his heart. He knew that if he didn’t follow through then, he would undoubtedly be filled with regret later.
With a thought, Colton also followed swiftly, his face set in a serious expression.
As Cynthia ran, her anxiety grew. Eventually, she simply flung her high heels aside and began to run barefoot.

Rushing all the way to the vicinity of the garden, she found Lukas lying on the ground bis eyes tightly shut. Lama was sobbing uncontrollably by his side, gasping for breath between her tears, But Fergus, who was supposed to be with them, was nowhere to be found
Cynthia hurriedly stepped forward with trembling hands, half kneeling on the ground to check Lukas‘ condition.
At that moment, Lukas had his eyes tightly shut. There were numerous scrapes on his face and hands, and beneath him was a pool of blood. It was unclear where he was bleeding from.
Cynthia didn’t dare to move Lukas recklessly. She could only call his name with a trembling voice, trying to wake him up, while she held Luna tightly in her arms.
Lukas didn’t respond. Seeing this, Yoel quickly draped his suit jacket over Lukas. He furrowed his brows and looked at Colton. “You guys-”
“The doctor is already on his way, Colton said in a deep voice, his gaze fixed intently on Lukas.
Cynthia took a deep breath, suppressing the anxiety in her heart. She gently asked Luna, “Luna, don’t be scared. Can you tell me what happene
Luna cried until her face turned beet red It took her a while to catch her breath, and between sobs, she managed to say, “1 uke fell down the stairs! He fell from such a high place… There’s so much blood. Help Save Lake Mommy I dont want Luke to die
Listening to Luna’s soft, helpless voice, Cynthia was nearly drowned in regret. Why did I assume they would be safe in the banquet hall and not follow them the entire time!
Rushing over in a hurry, Anna was also stunned. She asked anxiously, “How could this happen? Where is Fergus?
Luna suddenly retreated in fear when she heard Fergus name.
In Cynthia’s arms, she cried out. “He pushed Luke! It was him who pushed Luke!
As soon as these words fell, the expressions of everyone present noticeably changed.
George frowned, saying, “Luna is still young and shouldn’t be talking nonsense. How could Fergus possibly have pushed Lukas?”
Luna’s already tense emotions gradually crumbled. She broke down in tears, crying out, “Im not lying! It really was Fergus who pushed Luke!”
Watching the tiny child cry until her face turned red, Colton uttered before Cynthia could say anything. “She’s just a three–year–old kid. Why would you suspect her of lying. Mr. Zabielski?”

Cynthia’s heart missed a beat when she heard Colton’s words. Fortunately, at that moment, Luna didn’t quite catch what Colton had said and didn’t offer any rebuttal.
Yoel also furrowed his brows. He perceived Fergus as an introverted child, who he believed wouldn’t typically engage in such behavior.
