Chapter 13 

Arthur and his team had locked onto Edward’s location. 

They were close to capturing him. 

Unexpectedly, Edward stopped hiding. 

He brazenly appeared at Amanda’s apartment building, disguised as a delivery guy, and took her hostage. 

Arthur was quick to respond, arriving almost immediately. 

“Let her go!” 

Edward seemed off. He pressed a knife against Amanda’s neck with malice. “Arthur, that was quick. 

“But the day your wife died, why didn’t you come? She desperately tried to call you.’ Arthur’s expression visibly soured. “What are you talking about?” 

Edward sneered maliciously. 

“Are you still playing dumb? You know it was me who killed her, right? 

“When she died, she kept calling your name. She fought so hard. She even managed to call you amidst the torture. Interesting, isn’t it? The last call she made before she died, and you hung up on her. 

“Do you know how desperate she looked? But thanks to you, her despair ended her struggle sooner. 

“After you ignored her call, she didn’t resist anymore. She just let me do whatever I wanted. 

“By the way, that’s how your child was lost.” 

With these words, Arthur’s eyes reddened quickly, veins bulging on his forehead as his face twisted in rage, blood seeping from his mouth. 

“You monster! 

“I’ll kill you!”
