Chapter Chapter Twelve
“It's not the same." I spat out, my arms around him.
“Sash, it won’t be for long you know that.” Zeke pulled back, grabbing my face. “It's not going to be for long at all. We’re getting it sorted okay". I looked up at him and nodded, wiping my face.
“Can you be good while we're apart?” I asked him, not sure why.
“What do you mean?” he chuckled, scanning my face.
“Like don’t you know.”
“Sleep with anyone?” He finished for me and I nodded again, wiping my face with my sleeve. “Of course not you dick come on."
“But you're so attractive,” I said, not even a tiny attempt to tease him. Zeke laughed, pulling me back to his chest.
“It's true I have to fight women off but it will be easy now". I slapped his arm as his chest vibrated from laughter. “Sash stop your mine and I’m yours only I promise”. I looked up at him, grinning.
“Really?”
“Yes really and remember how fucking beautiful you are. If you left your house I would be worried.” I moved away from him in a fake huff and he pulled me back, I felt his breath on my ear as he spoke.
“You're my girlfriend and I’m going to miss you.” My head dropped onto his chest and I fought back another sob.
“I’m going to miss you too." I squeaked out and looked back up at him.
“Your trains coming. Text me when you're home”. I nodded as Zeke grabbed my face and kissed me hard. My legs nearly gave way as his tongue entered my mouth and took hold of my own, leaving me struggling for breath. I bit his bottom lip as we moved apart. “Sasha seriously I have to walk to the car with this hard on now thanks." I giggled and kissed his cheek.
“Bye," I waved as I walked to my train. I managed to keep it together and as I got on I looked back over at him, a huge grin on his face. I found my seat and slammed down, crying the whole way home.
I quickly ran a hoover around my living room, nervous for some reason. Liv hasn’t been to my flat in what feels like forever and I was also looking forward to seeing her. Our relationship was really on the right track and she wanted to know every single detail about Zeke. We had spoken on the phone last night and our conversation still had been grinning. He had put his name forward for the waiting list to move to the London offices so all we could do now was wait. It was killing me already and I wanted him here. The doorbell rang and I threw the hoover in the cupboard running over to open it.
“Hey sis," Liv said, all smiles as she walked in. She looked amazing and pregnancy really suited her. Her dark hair looked thick and I was slightly jealous.
“Hey, drink?” I asked as we walked into the kitchen.
“Just a cold one please. Are you good?” She asked, leaning against my kitchen side.
“I am how are you? The kids?” I asked handing her a glass of lemonade.
“They are all fabulous". She giggled as we sat on my sofa.
“What?” I asked knowing she had something on her mind. “Drew is doing a big party for our wedding anniversary next month," was all she said. I nodded, staring at her.
“Nice, erm is mum going to be there?” I asked, my palms sweaty.
“What? no! I haven't spoken to the woman.” she scoffed, putting her drink down. “I’m telling you in a cheeky way because I have your invitation!” She sang, rummaging through her bag and handing me a white card. I blew out as I turned it around. Classy, typical Liv. “Liv really?” I pulled a face at her as I saw the first words. “Me and Zeke?”
“Obviously he's your boyfriend no?” She chuckled, flicking her hair back.
“Yeah, but he doesn’t live here." I stammered out.
“So he can’t come to London for a weekend? Nice try Sasha I need to meet him pronto". I swallowed hard, we didn't know if he could have a weekend in London thanks to flipping probation. I rolled my eyes at her.
“I’ll ask him," I said, putting the invitation down.
“No you will tell him!” She cackled and I smiled back at her. “How are you two anyway, what's the plan?” Her eyebrow was raised as she wiggled it at me.
“He has put in a request to move to London at work so once that’s approved,” I shrugged, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. “What about his parents? They don’t mind?” I shook my head finishing off my drink.
“His mum lives in Nigeria so she won’t mind, his dad’s in," I paused, unsure how Liv was going to take this. I hadn’t even told her Zeke had been in prison.
“In what?” she asked, puzzled.
“He's in prison." I spat out and watched her face change to complete shock.
“Oh goodness," she finally spoke and I tried my hardest not to laugh. Goodness? Who had my sister turned into?
“While we are on the subject I have to tell you.” I paused, wiping my hands. Liv looked at me intently but I knew I had to tell her. “Zeke was in prison, he was released about nine months ago now". I said it quickly, nodding.
“Sash for what?” Liv's eyes travelled to my face and I knew she was panicking for me. “He sold drugs,” I spat out.
“Oh, wow Sasha I’m not sure what to say," she trailed off and I put my hand out.
“I know it's shocking but please believe me when I tell you he is the nicest guy in the world and would never do anything to me". Liv nodded, looking down.
“Okay," she said looking up. “I trust you so in turn I trust him. I do desperately need to meet him now though to properly check him out.” I nodded, smiling.
“Of course thanks for having my back"
“Duh you're my little sister”.
