There are things that could never make sense, the strangest of things that make you question everything you have ever believed in.

Most of us expect a happy ending, well not perfect but at least close to that but trying to understand life itself is a sheer waste of time because we are not it’s author.

Like how vain everything is, so is life it’s self and because there is light - so is there darkness. A God, so the devil.

Claudia and her father stand by the tomb stones, not once had she thought that a day would come when her best friend would be buried together with her entire family. Losing her brother and best friend almost the same time is something that she didn’t see happening but it has been two years now and everyday she hopes it gets easier.

He rubs her back lovingly and kisses her cheek like he has done the past two years.

‘I am sure she is in a better place.’ He tells her and she smiles

‘I bet she is.’ She responds

They walk towards the car but her phone rings just before they can get in.

‘It’s Mercy.’ She says

He smiles and gives her privacy.

Mercy is Claudia’s new best friend.

Mercy is reincarnated.
