Cursed Bonds Fated To The Royals by Magical Pen

Chapter 19

Chapter 19

Irene.

I had no idea how these things worked, but it made no sense that Kyla would risk her reputation for some minutes of battle time.

I looked at Luciana and saw she looked just as confused as I was.

Before I could ask her what was happening, my entire b*dy was pulled into Noah’s familiar embrace.

As much as I disliked Liv’s choice, I couldn’t help but take in his scent that was wrapped around me.

He smelled like the best thing on earth. Like the way I would feel after a run under the full moon.

Liv snorted in my head, “I told you.”

Cocky.

“Thank fate you are okay,” Noah mumbled as his large palm ran soothing circles on my back.

I held back from releasing a moan; the action was too pleasant for me to handle.

Especially when he smelled like this.

“Noah…” I managed to say as his arms tightened around me one more time.

“I can’t breathe.”

He moved back at the speed of light, his face coated red, and I blinked on seeing the shy look on his face.

You had to be kidding me.

“I thought you were in trouble,” he explained while his hands went to the back of his head.

I nodded, glancing over at Kyla, who stood with her gang and glared at me.

“Your girlfriend wanted to mark her territory…

Noah’s eyes widened, and he turned to spare a glance in Kyla’s direction.

“Girlfriend?” He asked and looked around the hallway, his ears picking up the obvious whispers.

“Why would I need a girlfriend when I have you now?”

Oh, so they broke up?

guess that explained why Kyla was so bitter and out of control. Even though I felt better knowing

there was nothing between them, I couldn’t help the little pang of jealousy in my heart from knowing they had a past.

I had never had the time for boys or anything like that.

Once, after getting curious about mating and everything the young girls in my pack were doing. I made out with a boy from a neighbouring pack.

It was nothing remarkable, and the boy had some lousy breath that traumatised me for about a

month.

Emotional engagement was the last thing on my list when trying to survive every twenty–four hours.

“You ended things with her; with all the rumours going around, you didn’t think she would come

for me?”

I looked around, uncomfortable with the scene we were creating and our audience.

Noah noticed it, grabbed my hand and led me out of the hallway.

He didn’t stop outside until we were in the empty parking lot and had me leaning on his sports car.

“Now, what in the fates were you talking about Irene?”

I shrugged, a little irked that he was playing the ignorant card. “I’m saying it’s only normal that she came for me. You broke up with her right after you saved me. And now, there are also rumours around.”

I could even remember someone talking about me being a breeder for the three of them.

Noah held my gaze while looking at me like I had said the most unbelievable thing in the world, and then his eyes closed after a minute, “F*** me.”

“You believe that?” He asked, tilting his head, and I nodded, resisting the urge to roll my eyes because this seemed like some proper conversation, and it would be rude to do that.

“That’s some wild theory you have there after your first day,” Noah said, shaking his head.

There was no resisting it anymore. I rolled my eyes.

“I don’t know who Tyla is, and my only recollection of her is sitting in chemistry class with her for some project.”

My eyes narrowed as I tried to see if he was lying.

The way he had dealt with Kyla was really convincing. It also made me suspect that there was more

than I had heard.

Yet, I didn’t want to let myself believe him.

Chapter 19

Just last night, I had made a decision solely based on my thinking he had a girlfriend.

It’s not like I had actual stakes in it, though.

my emotions up.

“Irene, there’s nothing between me and that Tyla,” Noah pressed on, and I stifled a giggle.

He couldn’t even get her name right. There had to be some mix–up somewhere.

But I had gone to bed feeling like I had the better option. That I just had to lock

“Where did you hear this from? Did she say that to you?” He asked while running one hand through his hair.

I remembered my conversation with Luciana, but with how stormy Noah’s face was right now, I didn’t doubt that he would rain hell on anyone responsible.

And I wanted to save Luciana. She was my first friend, and the last thing I wanted was to betray her just because of some rumour.

“I heard some girls talking about it yesterday. And you disappeared three times on me, so…”

Noah’s eyes fell, and he looked away.

“You thought I was dating her since yesterday?”

I nodded, slightly embarrassed at my assumption, too, “It made sense and explained your disappearance.”

“I’m so sorry, Irene.”

There’s no explaining the pang of guilt and pain that wrecks through me from seeing the guilty expression on Noah’s face.

“There are just certain standards you have to keep when you are the Royal Prince that the younger generation is looking at, I rushed to go to class while you were doing your processing because I thought it would take longer.”

“The other time, I was also in a rush because I had to get back to class.”

His explanation made me feel guilty and selfish, and I looked down, unable to meet his gaze.

“After school, Elton had me run some checks before his class and promised that Sam would drop you off. I wasn’t expecting that it would become some permanent arrangement.”

The irritation in his eyes at that last statement is the only thing I need to know is that I had messed

“Forgive me, Irene.”

And he was being so f**king sweet about it.

My shoulders relaxed, and all the tension I had been holding without realising it disappeared.

“There’s no need to.” I couldn’t accept some apology for my assumptions. That made no sense, and judging by the smile that bloomed on Noah’s face, I made the right call.

His green with golden flecks eyes glowed, and I sucked in air, a little distracted by how good he looked.

Maybe Liv had a good taste after all.

“I guess I made you miss the first period,” Noah groaned as another bell rang.

“I think half the school did,” I countered, and he chuckled, and the sound sound had me flushing.

What the hell was wrong with me? First, his smile and now his chuckle?

“I’ll walk you to class.”

The hallways were empty, and we both walked on in complete silence without asking, Noah clearly knew my schedule as he led the way to my next class.

Just before we got to the door, Noah pulled me to him. The gap between us closed, and my breathing slowed at how close we were.

My eyes closed as he leaned in and pressed a k*ss to my forehead. I could have sworn that I wouldn’t have minded if he k*ssed me anywhere else.

“Don’t leave with Sam,” Noah whispered, then left in a small jog.

I stood there, my heart thumping in my chest as I watched him turn into a corner.

“Goddess, help me, I prayed and then pushed the door open.
