Chapter 122
Mr Colton brought his phone out and dialed a number. When the call went through, he spoke over the speaker,
"You do have Steven's account number don't you?"
"Wire $500 billion into it right away."
"Don't hang the call yet, you mushroom!"
"Immediately you do the transfer, give me a call."
He hung the call then turned to Damien.
"You seem like a very interesting guy, you lad. Who the fuck are you?"
Damien chuckled.
"Did he crack a joke? I bet you are so eager to look like a rump-fed ronyon when you laugh. How dare you fucking make a joke when my boss is being dead serious. Are you tired of living?"
Albert was at it again, yelling and glaring. This time around, Mr Colton didn't say much. He just watched the both of them.
"Let him be, Albert. I think he'll be more useful than I imagined."
He took a pause.
"You go bring the car around. Let's leave this shithole."
"I can't leave you with this piece of shit."
Albert was reluctant to leave.
"Just go, I'll be fine."
"No sir, I can't do that without --'
"Do you want your balls off? Why do I have to repeat myself over and over again? You want me to cut off the tuitions of your triplet sisters in Harvard --??"
Albert dropped on his knees at once, clasping his palms together in a heartfelt plea. Mr Colton was looking away.
WOW, THIS CRAZY STUMP OF A MAN REALLY KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A CALF OUT OF A LION. WAAH... IMAGINE HOW PITIFUL THE TOUGH ALBERT IS LOOKING. AND HOW POWERLESS HE MADE SUPER POWERFUL STEVEN SEEM.
WHAT'S THE DEAL OF THIS MAN? WHO THE FUCK IS HE? HOW POWERFUL IS HE? I REALLY WANT TO KNOW.
"What are you thinking about?"
Damien heard the clear voice and was knocked out of his thoughts. Looking, he couldn't find Albert there anymore. It was just him, Mr Colton and the two gold statues.
"Oh, it's nothing significant. My girls are giving me trouble. No matter how much I do for them they don't seem impressed. And I don't want to make them dread me... I want them to respect me and enjoy their freedom at the same time."
Mr Colton chuckled. His smile was rich. He was a very good looking man. At such his middle age.
"This fool. You want to eat your cake and have it?"
"Huh?"
Damien didn't know what the man meant and didn't pretend to do.
"I'm not sure if I understood what you meant by that."
"You don't have to, lad. Like you can never understand ladies. Especially the young ones. I can't even understand my own daughter. At a point I think I know what she wants but then, everything washes away... in the blink of an eye."
The man's voice softened.
"My daughter..."
"I don't know if I'm in any right to know, but I couldn't help but overhear when Mr Steven was talking about your daughter. It seemed like something bad happened to her as it sounded---"
"You are getting too comfortable, aren't you?"
Mr Colton's pity face had grown tough again.
"Forgive me, I was carried away."
Damien gulped,
"If you wouldn't mind, I'll take my leave now."
Damien bowed at the man and made to leave. He had taken two steps away, his back to Mr Colton when he heard,
"How brazen!"
Confused Damien spun around to the man.
"No one has ever dared walk away while I'm still standing. I leave people on their feet, and seat when I'm done. Not the other way round. Not even the president of this country could try that with me!"
WAS I WRONG ABOUT HIM? HE'S SO HAUGHTY! I WANT TO BREAK EVERY LAST OF HIS BONES RIGHT NOW. I DESPISE PEOPLE LIKE THIS SO MUCH.
BUT IT SEEMS LIKE HE HAS SOME DEMONS FIGHTING IN HIS HEAD. AT A POINT HE'S GOOD, AT THE OTHER HE'S RESTLESS.
PLUS I CAN'T REALLY DO WHAT I HAVE IN MIND. I HAVE TO TOLERATE THIS FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. NOT EVERYTHING SHOULD BE SOLVED WITH VIOLENCE.
Point in time, the usual saying of his grandpa hit him,
"Making violence your only option makes you a liability to the world."
Even though he really didn't understand what that meant in its fullest form, yet he could use it. His grandpa was the greatest teacher he'd ever known in his entire life.
"... but it's not it. I should teach you a couple lessons which you would live to teach your children and grand children, but I have to go."
Damien could swear on his life that he had missed couple things the raging man said while he was swept away in thoughts.
Making up for the information he had missed, his eyes caught a sparkling white limousine pulling up.
Albert stepped out of the limo.
"Sir."
He got one of the doors. Mr Colton looked to him then back at Damien.
"Here."
He handed a card to Damien.
"Drop by at my place. Let's see what use we can have for you."
Damien bowed respectfully.
"Thank you so much sir, it would be a great honor."
Mr Colton walked away. When he got to the limo,
"Ignore what I said earlier about teaching you a couple lessons. That shouldn't scare you away."
He nodded at Damien then turned away. His phone rang as he stepped into the car.
"You've wired the money? The 500 Billion?..."
Damien could overhear as the car
drove off. A van drove by, past the
limo and pulled over. Several en in
blue suits hurried to the gold statues and stored them in the truck.
"Get in the truck right now!!!"
"Go you sluggard!"
He watched as the men yelled at an old man who seemed to be a driver. He wanted to go help the man, but then he figured that the men were working for Mr Colton.
LET THIS PASS, DAMIEN. YOU CAN DO IT.
He wanted so bad to go, but he just couldn't. And the fact that the men didn't lay hands on the old man was quite helpful to him also.
He watched as they all left. He was left alone on that lone street.
He flipped the system window out and tapped on the system gem functions.
[Ping! Host can type in the request for the gem's exchange. ]
"Would this even work? If it doesn't, then I'm the biggest fool in the history of mankind!"
He typed in,
COULD THE SYSTEM GEM MOVE THE $500 BILLION DOLLARS IN MR STEVEN'S ACCOUNT INTO MINE...
[Ping! Host's request Loading.]
"Please God, let it work. Please..."
He was very nervous now. His heart pounding mercilessly against his burly chest.
[Ping! Request failed. System gem could only exchange and make one thing the other. It does not move nether functions like the host had requested.] "Ahh... fuck... fuck.. what the fuck, bruh... Oh God..."
He dropped on his butts on the tarred street. His hand rumpling his hair.
"Oh, God I'm so stupid... I'm very foolish... what was I thinking..."
He knew he didn't have the time to whine. Even though things didn't go as he had thought it would, he knew how to right his wrong.
"How could I even think of that... what has gotten into me... how could I had thought of that?"
"The fucking gem only exchange. Dumb bastard, it exchanges. Not move, you fool... exchange!!!"
He was yelling his throat off.
"Exchange."
His voice softened at once. His eyes widening.
"Yes, exchange!"
He jumped up excitedly. Something really exciting was happening in his head.
"This should fucking work..."
He bit his finger before turning his attention to the window.
He gulped as he brought out the gem window. He typed.
EXCHANGE ONE SYSTEM GEM FOR A HUNDRED TRILLION DOLLARS!
That was the highest number he could think of.
[Ping! Host's request Loading.]
"Let it work..."
The manner at which his heart was
racing this time... he could hear his ribs shifting to the weight of the ruthless pounds. His stomach suddenly became warm, then hot, then rumbled, then unsettled. He gulped and gulped, his eyes widening... almost everything happened to him in few seconds.
[Ping! Adding 100,000,000,000,000 to Host's nether account.]
"No way... no way... fuck... no way!!!"
He was so excited that he didn't know what to say.
[Ping! The exchange would be reversed to its original state in two month's time.]
Damien didn't care about what else the system had to say, he was already zooming around the state of Las Vegas in happiness.
He almost collided with a running vehicle using the zoom speed, but the system instinct kicked in...
He kept on going and going... Bro is too happy.
Could someone tell your MC to go do something with the money as soon as possible?!
