CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 1895

Meanwhile, Caleb had been having a rough time lately.

Between academic lectures and an overwhelming number of surgeries, he barely had time to catch his breath. On top of that, his father was pressuring him to go on blind dates.

He avoided them whenever he could.

But today, his father took things to the next level, showing up at the hospital with a girl in tow.

"Caleb, all your friends are getting married. Even Wilfred, the hospital director, married an outstanding

doctor. And you? You're also a doctor. I'm not even asking you to take over the family business! Are there no nurses or female doctors at your hospital? Look, this is your Uncle Mason's daughter!"

Caleb glanced at the woman standing beside his father but felt no spark of interest.

"There are plenty of women, but why should I follow someone else's timeline? Just because everyone else is getting married doesn't mean I have to."

His father was already fuming. "So, what? You're going to stay single forever? Even Nash and Ben are married with kids now. What about you? Don't tell me you're into men!"

Caleb was speechless. "I'm not getting married or dating anyone, but why does that automatically mean I like men?"

"People used to gossip about you and Nash, and now that Nash and Ben are both married but you're still single. Are you and Hunter-"

"Enough!" Caleb interrupted, exasperated. "What are you even talking about? And why bring up Hunter? What does he have to do with this?"

"You two have been spending a lot of time together lately. If there's nothing going on between you, that would be suspicious!" his father declared emphatically.

Caleb couldn't help but laugh bitterly. "We're just two single guys leaning on each other for support. Is that so hard to believe?"

His father took a deep breath, looking at the woman beside him. "Fine, then. This lady-maybe you should..."

Before the word *marry* could leave his mouth, Caleb's phone rang.

Glancing at the screen, Caleb spoke in a low voice, "Wherever you brought her from, take her back. I've got other things to handle."

Without waiting for a response, he turned and walked away.

Watching his son leave, Mr. Smith sighed in both anger and frustration.

"You've seen his attitude," he said to

the woman. "He's clearly unwilling to

settle down. But if you manage to

get inte his bed and end up pregnant, I'll help your father clear his debts."

The woman, Vera Mason, clenched her fists tightly. Her family company was drowning in debt, her elder brother was missing, and her father lay critically ill in the hospitabShe had no other way out.

"Alright," she said through gritted teeth.

Meanwhile, Caleb had arrived at an upscale gated community after receiving the phone call.

Using the code to unlock the door, he stepped inside. The living room was spacious and luxurious, and sitting on the sofa was a woman in a white silk lounge set, cradling a cat in her arms.

The moment she saw him, her anxiety was evident. "Caleb, please take a look at Terry. He hasn't eaten anything all day."

Though Caleb was a doctor, he had taught himself veterinary medicine as well.

The cat in her arms had been her companion for many years-equivalent to an elderly human at this point.

Caleb examined the cat carefully and spoke in a low, hoarse voice, "Terry's heart is failing..."

In other words, Terry was reaching the end of his life due to old age.

Tears streamed down her face as she held the frail animal closer. "Caleb, Terry has been with me for so

long. I don't want to lose him. Isn't there something you can do?"

Caleb had never seen her cry like this before, and it unsettled him deeply.

"Luna," he said softly, "everything that lives must eventually die. It's a law of nature we can't escape."
