Chapter 1220
"You went to see Lydia. Did you hit a wall with her parents? What do they want? Are they looking for York Corporation's help?"
Nash, having experienced his fair share of similar situations, could easily guess what was going on with Quincy.
Quincy sighed, trying to shut down the conversation. "Mr. York, it's over between Lydia and me."
Nash was taken aback by how quickly things had ended. Quincy had just proposed to Lydia, and it was clear they had feelings for each other.
Lydia wouldn't have accepted the proposal if she didn't care deeply for him. It seemed like this so-called "breakup" was more about her parents' interference than anything else. Nash, having been through his own share of challenges, saw how special Quincy and Lydia's relationship was and didn't want it to end over something like this.
"Lydia loves you, and you love her. Just calling it quits, don't you think that's a waste?" Nash put down the papers he was holding and walked over to Quincy.
"You're not a kid anymore. You finally found someone you care about, someone who cares about you. Are you really going to throw it all away now and keep drifting through life? "Does Lydia really want to break up? If it's just her parents standing in the way, then you need to focus on winning them over."
Nash placed a supportive hand on Quincy's shoulder. "They just need to see your commitment. If you need to start your own company, I'll back you up. The funds, the resources, you can have it all. If they want York Corporation itself, you can take that too. Without you, we wouldn't be where we are today."
When he had given up the company to Nina, she had passed it on to her aunt. But after Nina returned, the ownership came back to him. If Quincy needed it now, Nash would gladly hand it over.
Quincy was stunned by the offer. He never expected Nash to go this far for him. But even if Nash was willing to hand over York Corporation, he couldn't accept it.
"Mr. York, I appreciate your trust in me, but I've already decided to end things with Lydia. I just "
"Quincy, you idiot, what the hell are you talking about?"
Quincy looked up, startled, to see Lydia storming into the room, her face set in a furious glare.
She had been trying to reach him, but all her calls went unanswered. When she realized she had been blocked, she knew where to find him. He was right here, buried in work as usual.
And now, hearing him talk about breaking up like it was some casual business decision, she was fuming.
She had put a knife to her own neck for him, saying those desperate words, only to find out that Quincy had blocked her without so much as a discussion. How could he do that?
When Nash saw Lydia walk in, he gave Quincy a knowing look. "This is between the two of you. Work it out."
With that, Nash stepped out, leaving the space for them.
Soon, it was just the two of them, alone in the room.
Lydia marched up to Quincy and punched him hard on the arm. "Are you even human? Do you have any idea what I went through for you? And you talk about trying hard? Is this what you call trying hard?”
Quincy opened his mouth to respond, but Lydia cut him off, her voice shaking with anger, "Trying hard my ass! You call blocking me and deleting my number trying hard?"
Quincy stood there, stunned and speechless, as Lydia's words echoed through the room.
