Chapter 66
"What do you mean?"
"Isn't it because you just had a kidney donation surgery and your health wasn't good, forcing you to abort?"
Isabella's face twisted into a dark, cryptic smile. "You really are full of yourself."
"Nathan, the real reason is... she's your child. I hate that she carries your filthy blood. I'm afraid that her genes might carry your bad traits... and I fear that because of her, I'll never be able to get rid of you this pile of shit."
Nathan felt a cold sweat break out all over his back, and Isabella's resolute words shattered all of his delusions. His voice trembled uncontrollably. "Isabella, so you've hated me this deeply... for so long?"
"If you weren't so full of yourself, you'd have realized long ago that I have no feelings left for you."
Nathan's breath hitched. His mind seemed to be suffocating, and for a moment, he couldn't process her words.
"Isabella... I only took one of your kidneys. And you willingly donated it. You can't blame me."
Isabella was silent for a moment before replying coldly, "Nathan, I don't blame you, I blame myself. I was blind and ignorant, unable to see through your fake marriage."
The word "fake" slammed Nathan's pride to the ground. He never expected that in her eyes, he was such a despicable person.
Nathan hurriedly explained, "Isabella, you really misunderstood me. I married you with sincere feelings. As long as you don't initiate the divorce, you will always be my Mrs. Hill... my promise will stand forever."
"Mrs. Hill?" Isabella scoffed. "The Mrs. Hill who has become the laughingstock of Capital. Holding the title of the Hill family's young mistress, but without the wealth and luxury, unable to share a bed with her husband, and even needing to ask your assistant for money when sick. Nathan, did you really treat me as your wife?"
Nathan's face alternated between pale and green.
"Bella, I didn't think this through. From now on, I'll give you a bank card, and give you a monthly allowance. You won't have to keep asking your assistant for money..."
"Nathan, it's too late." She paused before adding more sharply, "You know, being entangled with someone you don't love is such a frustrating thing."
Nathan felt as though all the energy had drained from his limbs, but he steeled his resolve and said, "Isabella, we're not getting a divorce. I'm willing to make it up to you..."
Isabella's eyes glistened with tears of blood. "Nathan, I'll make you beg me for a divorce."
With that, Isabella hung up the phone.
What a joke. Nathan was her enemy. How could she possibly agree to reconcile and help his company out of trouble?
A wicked, seductive smile spread across Isabella's face as she opened her computer. She combined her and Nathan's divorce story with videos and photos, and uploaded them to her social media. Beneath the images, she wrote: "A rotten marriage that should have ended long ago..."
After a brief pause, she clicked "send."
Then she turned off her phone, climbed into bed, and fell into a deep sleep.
---
The Hill Family.
Nathan had actually spent the night restless, unable to sleep, and by the afternoon, he was still in bed. He was awoken abruptly by a slap across his face.
He opened his eyes to see his family gathered around his bed, each of them with a stern expression.
Nathan furrowed his brow in confusion. "Why are you all here?"
"Ah, Nathan, how can you still be sleeping? Don't you know that the sky is about to collapse?" Mrs. Hill's face was filled with panic.
"What happened?" Nathan sensed a foreboding feeling from Mrs. Hill's anxiety.
Nathan's Bella, trembling, said, "Bro, look at the trending topics today."
Nathan grabbed his phone from the bedside table, unlocked the screen, and was immediately bombarded with a flood of trending topics:
**Nathan's Marriage in Crisis!**
**Mrs. Hill's Social Media Post Criticizing Her Rotten Marriage Is It a Hint at Nathan's Betrayal?**
**A Common Woman Faces the Betrayal of Her Tycoon Husband and Courageously Requests a Divorce Is Her Courage a Result of Hidden Suppression or Is Her Pride as a Small-Town Girl Finally Breaking Through?** **The Hill Group's Stock Begins to Plummet. Nathan Must Pay the Price for His Immoral Personal Life...**
Nathan's face turned ashen. "What did Isabella post on her social media?"
"Bro, we don't dare to say. You should see for yourself," his Bella said.
Nathan opened Isabella's social media but quickly realized that he had been blocked. His phone couldn't even see her posts.
His Bella hanged him her phone, and Nathan saw the long post Isabella had written. While it never directly
mentioned him or Victoria, everynet
word seemed to accuse him and Victoria of being adulterers and deceivers in marriage...
He never knew she had such a way with words.
Underneath her post, many people had already joined in to denounce him, with furious comments like:
"My God, so being a rich man's wife is so difficult? Turns out there are so many scandals in wealthy families."
"Didn't expect Nathan to be such a scumbag. With so many women in the world, why pick his lover's Bella? No wonder Mrs. Hill, who has no power, finally had enough and asked for a divorce."
"A few days ago, Nathan and his ex, Victoria, were at a public event, and their relationship was so obvious. They were practically oozing chemistry. Now we know that Nathan was having an affair."
Nathan's face turned darker and darker, and he nearly crushed the phone in his hand from the fury. "Isabella, you shouldn't have dragged Victoria into this war. Fine, you've successfully enraged me."
"What do you have to fight with me
for?" Alaric, furious, slapped him again. Holding his chest, he angrily scolded Nathan, "You... The Hill Group's stock has been falling since this morning. People are throwing eggs and rotten vegetables outside the Hill family's gates. And you're not thinking about how to handle this crisis, only about protecting your precious white moonlight? Nathan, you really disappoint me."
Mrs. Hill hurried to support Alaric, soothing him, "Calm down, dear. Nathan was just momentarily confused. He'll handle this crisis. Let's go back home now."
As soon as Alaric and Mrs. Hill left, Nathan's eyes turned cold. He touched the red mark on his face from his father's slap and murmured ominously, "Isabella, you've forced me into this."
Isabella woke up from her nap and opened her phone, only to find dozens of missed calls and a stack of unread messages.
From Victoria.
From Nathan.
From Master Moore and Madam Moore.
Victoria was crying and apologizing. "Bella, we're Bellas! How could you expose me like this online and let the internet tear me apart? Don't you have any conscience? I admit I like Nathan, but he was my boyfriend first. Why do you think he married you? You know it's because you were the one who was the third party all along!"
Madam Moore scolded Isabella angrily. "Isabella, you've really disappointed us. How could you hurt your own Bella like this?"
Master Moore threatened her. "Isabella, you must delete those inappropriate posts immediately. You need to apologize to your Bella too. She's sick because of you. Do you know that?" "Isabella, if anything happens to your Bella, I'll make you pay."
