Can't Win Me Back Chapter 16
Theodore stumbled out of his room, looking flustered. "Sis, what's wrong?"
Isabella glared at him, her eyes brimming with tears. Her shoulders heaved as she struggled to contain her anger. "You're faking being sick just to avoid-school... Do you even understand? **Of all pursuits, studying is paramount!** If you don't want to be bullied anymore in the future, you must study hard!"
Theodore instantly caved, his sharp peach blossom, eyes drooping. "Sis, I was wrong."
Isabella's voice trembled with frustration. "Theodore, I am willing to shield you from storms, but the world is vast, and not all storms can be blocked for you"
"Reflect on this properly.
She angrily grabbed his school bag and slammed the door on her way out
Theodore pouted. "Why is she so fiery?
When the door creaked open again, he smirked knowingly. "I knew she couldn't stay mad for long."
However, the sound of polished leather shoes echoed in the room. Theodore's heart sank as a stern middle-aged man strode in behind him.
Turning to face the man, Theodore calmly asked, "You're here for the 'Flower Protector, right?"
The man tossed a thick envelope at him. Without waiting for an explanation, Theodore immediately guessed the visitor's purpose.
"Sent by Madam Hill?" he asked with disdain. "Trying to buy me off with money?"
The man's eyebrows rose in surprise. "You're sharp for your age. Listen, young man, you've gotten yourself involved with someone you shouldn't have." Theodore flung the envelope back. Despite the distance, the envelope landed on the man's hands with such precision that its sharp edges bit into his skin.
"All this just to protect Nathan's reputation. Madam Hill truly spares no expense. But what if I said I don't need her money?"
The man's voice hardened. "Madam Hill said you could name your price if you cooperate and revise your statements."
The man seemed confident in Theodore's capitulation. After all, no one had ever refused Madam Hill's formidable financial prowess.
But Theodore chuckled disdainfully. "She should've investigated me before sending someone to negotiate. I'm not someone just any stray cat or dog can buy off." "Who exactly are you?"
"You're not worthy of knowing my name."
The man clapped his hands, and the room was suddenly filled with a group of burly men.
"Kid, Madam wants to meet you. Apologies, but you'll need to come with us."
Glancing around his modest rental, Theodore's gaze was filled with reluctance. He knew resisting would risk exposing his identity, which would only bring more trouble to his Sis, Isabella.
He sighed and agreed, "Fine, I'll go with you. But give me a moment-I need to leave a note for my roommate. Otherwise, if she reports me missing, it'll be troublesome for everyone.". The man hesitated but eventually nodded, motioning for his group to wait outside.
Theodore packed lightly, taking only a single change of clothes. sewn by Isabella herself. He left a note on the table:
***Sis, I've been away from home for a year. It's time I return.
Farewell for now. We'll meet again someday. -Theodore"**
He left without looking back.
That afternoon, when Isabella returned from school, she found the empty room. She slumped onto the sofa, overwhelmed with loss.
She knew they lived in different worlds, but after months of living together, even parting with a pet would leave her heart heavy. How could she not feel sorrowful over Theodore's abrupt departure? "Theodore, I can only wish you success and fulfillment in the days to come."
She thought their fates had diverged for good.
Meanwhile, Theodore boarded an international flight. Surrounded by Hill family bodyguards, he remained unfazed, leaning back to rest.
"Is he seriously asleep? Doesn't he realize he's angered Madam Hill? He might not return alive," one guard grumbled.
Without opening his eyes, Theodore scoffed. "Madam Hill? Who does she think she is? Even her precious son is beneath my notice." When the plane landed, the eerily quiet airport puzzled the Hill family guards.
"Madam Hill has wealth, but not enough to shut down an airport," one guard murmured.
Theodore walked toward the exit with deliberate calm.
""Follow him!" barked the leader.
Before they could close in, a well-trained security team emerge from nowhere, easily subduing the bodyguards.
Outnumbered and outmatched, the Hill family's men could only watch as Theodore boarded a luxury vehicle and disappeared into the city.
In the Sanchez family mansion in the imperial capital, Theodore stood confidently in the grand living room. Though young, his dignified presence rivaled that of seasoned patriarchs.
Even the opulent surroundings dimmed in comparison to his commanding aura.
When the eldest Sanchez son descended the staircase, his eyes turned red with jealousy.
Despite Theodore's casual stance, his innate pride made the Sanchez heir appear almost laughable in comparison.
"What are you doing here, Theodore? You're not welcome in this house!"
