Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 106

Edward smoked a cigarette, replaying the video multiple times. In the footage, Janice's eyes carried an endless patience.

He tossed his phone aside, and Harrison quickly picked it up.

Edward then used his private number to call his uncle, Terry.

Later that evening, the trending topic was finally suppressed.

Heidi, who had spent the entire night in anxious turmoil, was finally able to calm down a little. She was too embarrassed to call Barbara to explain. Besides, she didn't even know how to explain it.

"Didi, hurry and go apologize to Janice!" Emma's urgent voice came through the phone. Even though Heidi knew she was in the wrong, she still refused to bow her head. "Why?" "Our amusement park project, which was set to launch during Christmas, has been shut down!" "What does that have to do with apologizing to Janice?"

"The person who shut it down was Edward's uncle, Terry Gallagher! Edward must be aware of this. Otherwise, who could possibly get Terry to act? Just one day of suspension will cause us huge losses, and Christmas is right around the corner. Didi, you—"

Everyone in the Ryan family knew that Myra's husband, Terry, had immense influence. For him, shutting down a company was as simple as saying the word, and Terry had been fiercely protective of Edward since childhood.

"Didi?"

Heidi could barely breathe and immediately hung up on her mother. Did she really have to go and apologize to Janice?

Yet just as she was battling this internal struggle, Simon released an interview video that suddenly shifted public opinion.

Seeing the comment section filled with accusations that Janice was two-timing, Heidi burst out laughing. She had found the perfect way to divert everyone's anger. She didn't have to apologize to Janice anymore.

Since that was the case, she might as well fan the flames and let even more people believe that Janice was nothing more than a woman who used her looks to climb the social ladder.

Meanwhile, in the Ryan residence, the Ryan couple had finally—after much difficulty—managed to get Terry's contact information.

Gregory said first, "Mr. Gallagher, my daughter has always been a little straightforward and speaks without thinking. She has offended people time and time again, especially after spending years abroad, where she never learned proper social decorum.

"She offended Ms. Smith and even angered Mr. Moore this time. Our deepest apologies."

Emma quickly added, "Mr. Gallagher, if nothing else, consider the fact that Heidi has brought glory to our country."

A deep, steady voice replied from the other end, "Glory to the country?"

"Yes! Heidi is actually the world-renowned crochet master, Shirley Olson! She has always been low-key and never used her title to gain favors or advantages. But surely, given her contributions to the art of crochet, you could find it in your heart to overlook this matter and reconsider shutting down our project?"

Terry was silent for a moment before replying, "I have things to take care of. We'll talk later."

"Alright, alright!" Emma had no choice but to use her daughter's identity as Shirley Olson as a bargaining chip.

At a critical moment like this, they had no other option.

"Will this really work?" Gregory asked hesitantly.

Emma replied, "It should. Look at how many foreigners have fallen in love with crochet because of our daughter's work. That's bringing honor to the country! And what is Janice, really? She's just Edward's girlfriend. What's so special about her? Mr. Gallagher should know what truly matters."

"Hello? Honey." Myra answered Terry's call.

Terry got straight to the point. "Is Heidi really the famous international seamstress, Shirley Olson?"

Myra was stunned. "Who said that? Is it true?"

"Her parents claim so, but I can't confirm it."

Myra frowned. "Let me ask Edward."

"I'll be at Barbara's soon. Call Edward and Janice too."

"Alright."

If Heidi was truly Shirley Olson, then this matter...
