Chapter 104
Heidi was determined to tell Edward and Barbara that Janice was not sincere.
But since she had promised Barbara, no matter how much she disliked it, Heidi had to grit her teeth and learn the new crochet technique from Janice.
Janice sat on the side. "I'll demonstrate only once."
Heidi remained silent, her expression cold.
About ten minutes later, Janice set down the needle. "Did you see clearly? It's not difficult. It just requires patience."
Heidi crossed her arms, acting indifferent. "Sorry, I didn't see it clearly. The sunlight reflected off the window."
Janice glanced at her, then picked up the needle again. "I'll do it once more."
When she finished, Heidi said again, "Your hand was in the way. I couldn't see-
Janice lifted her eyes. "If my hand was in the way, couldn't you have moved? You didn't see clearly? Fine. Then figure it out yourself by following what I just did. Once you've mastered it, you can leave."
"You dare restrict my freedom?"
"This is Mrs. Moore's assignment." Janice stood up and poured herself a glass of water. "If you can't complete it, that's your problem. It's not that I didn't teach—it's that you're too slow."
Heidi was truly furious now and blurted out, "It's clear now that your parents died early! Just look at your poor upbringing!"
Janice, who was sipping her water, did not react with anger. Instead, she calmly picked up her phone and tapped the screen, stopping a recording.
Seamstresses had a habit of recording their work process.
"Heidi Ryan." Janice smiled lightly. "Everyone has to pay the price for their reckless words."
Heidi's eyes twitched, but she didn't believe Janice would actually do anything to her.
Four hours later, Janice stood up. "I'm leaving."
Still focused on studying the crochet technique, Heidi didn't respond. The moment Janice left, she immediately gave Barbara a video call.
At home, Barbara and Myra had just finished watching the news.
"Mrs. Moore."
"Heidi."
Heidi, who was too caught up in forcing herself to cry, failed to notice that Barbara's tone was a little distant. She whined, "Mrs. Moore, Janice didn't even teach me. She just played with her phone and left. She even said she never planned on marrying Edward. Doesn't that mean she's just playing with his feelings?"
After finishing her complaint, Heidi wiped away her fake tears and pretended to be pitiful. "But don't worry, Mrs. Moore. I won't leave. I'll keep working hard. You must be busy, so I'll let you go now."
She quickly hung up the call and smiled.
Now that she had played the victim, Barbara would surely stand up for her and scold Janice! Next, she called Calvin.
"Heidi? You cried?" Calvin asked.
Heidi sniffled. "Calvin, I think I might not be suited for working in this environment. Mrs. Moore assigned me a restoration task, and Janice was supposed to teach me, but she only stayed for half an hour before leaving. Maybe she had something else to do, but I can't remember what she taught me. Maybe I'm just too stupid."
Silence fell on the other end of the call.
"Calvin?" Heidi tried to make herself seem understanding by saying, "Are you busy? I won't disturb you, then." She hung up and grinned, waiting to see how Janice would be ostracized by the Moore family.
Barbara had given her an assignment, and she wasn't even taking it seriously. Edward would surely be furious this time.
Her phone rang, and Heidi quickly answered, feeling excited. "Hello?"
Had Janice already been reprimanded?
"Heidi, have you checked Instagram? Your insults toward Janice were recorded!"
