Chapter 25

My mind was too crowded with thoughts I didn’t know what to focus on. Frustrated I sat on the bed letting out a groan. I heard the door closing and saw Ace entering from the corner of my eye.
“What are we going to do?” I finally ask after a moment of silence.
“We?”
“Yeah. How are we going to clean this mess?” he stared at me looking bewildered. Before he could say anything I cut him off. “A war is probably on your doorstep, you don’t know who you can trust and who not. Your most trusted man is probably going to be the person who is being affected the most. So yes we…” I was cut off when his lips landed on mine. I was startled at first, but eventually gave in. he started pulling off my top and it was at that moment that I noticed he was already half naked. While nibbling on the skin of my neck as he pushed me on the bed.
“You look so hot when you’re like that…” he whispered. His voice send a current through my spine. He snapped my panties off causing me to moan. I gasped as he got between my legs. He knew exactly what he was doing and he looked so smug while doing that. If he hadn’t pinned me to the bed I would have wiped that smirk right off his face. I could even think straight as he brought me to my first orgasm. Before I knew it he positioned me again and entered me in such a teasing matter I wanted to kick hem but his firm grasp ensured I couldn’t move. He licked his lips and kissed me again. I lost track of what and how he exactly he was doing those things but it felt so damn good. By the time he had his way I was so euphoric I couldn’t think straight.
I hadn’t realized I fell asleep till I woke up the next morning. I tried moving out of his grip but he held on so tightly. After a few moments he finally loosened his grip and I could get out. After freshening up I walked out to find him on the phone. He said something in Russian, which sounded so good, as his eyes followed me around. He cut the call and was still staring.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” I finally snapped.
“You look… good?”
“Uhmm… Thank you?” I stared quizzically.
“No, I mean. You look better. As if you weren’t having mental breakdowns so often recently.”
“Thanks for reminding me.” I reply sarcastically.
“You know that’s not what I meant... So what helped?” he sighed getting out of bed himself. I just shrugged.
“I have no clue.” I thought about it and he was right. I did feel much lighter compared to a few weeks ago. I felt bits of my old self resurfacing. “I think talking to your mom helped… and also the isolation time I had.” I answered lost in thoughts. He looked at me with a strange gaze for a moment before walking straight to the bathroom. I brushed his behavior off and walked out of the bedroom.
Ace left after breakfast and I ended up spending my day with Aiden. After he went to bed I decided to call Lea. I didn’t want any suspicion to rise. Also she’s been there for me in my pregnancy. Even though for the wrong reasons I still had her by my side.
That night Ace didn’t return which I anticipated. The next morning I got Aiden ready for school and dropped him off. Then I headed to Frankie’s to pick Cristy up.
I had no clue what to do so at the start of the day I let her call the shots. Seeing that wasn’t going anywhere and me being me I didn’t like that girly things I finally cracked. I decided to give her boxing lessons so I took her to my home. Vik said he would pick Aiden up because he wanted to take his somewhere so after having a discussion with him for a few minutes I caved.
I taught Cristy many self-defense techniques as well as pointers on boxing. By the end she was so emotionally charged she started crying. Not knowing exactly what to do, I sat with her till she calmed down. At nine o’clock I dropped her off at Frankie’s. I called Vik to check on Aiden, who seemed to be having a lot of fun. Knowing I had nothing of significance to do at home I went to Ace’s warehouse.
“What are you doing here?” ace asked as I entered his office.
“What I can’t show up” I shrugged.
“That’s not…” he was cut off when Aiden ran inside with Vik hot on his tail. Aiden rushed up to Ace and sat on his lap. Ace smiled and started talking to him. Out of nowhere the sound of guns going off surrounded us. We all ducked to the ground. Ace started yelling out instructions. Vik took me and Aiden somewhere and before I could even say anything he locked us in a room. I pounded on the door a few times. I finally gave up and sat on one of the chairs.
“Mama…” he seemed startled by all of this.
“I’m here Monkey. I won’t let anything happen to you.” I held him close. He fell asleep not long after but I couldn’t even sit still. I kept pacing up and down the room going out of my mind figuring out what to do. I wanted to go out but one look at Aiden and I didn’t. I couldn’t leave him alone. Right?
Not long after someone started hitting the door. I grabbed a gun from the box that was there. The noise woke Aiden up. I didn’t have a chance to react and the door burst open. Seeing unfamiliar men I started shooting and fighting them off. Luckily there were only four. So I took them out and took Aiden’s hand as I walked out. I’ve had enough of hiding.
