Rebecca grasped the pepper spray tightly as she reached out to lock the door, trying not to make a noise. When she began to quiver, Nicholas suddenly turned around and left. She sighed in relief and lay down on the bed.

“I can’t keep living in fear like this…”

“What if he didn’t have any bad intentions? Could it be that he just wanted to say something but decided to postpone it?‘ muttered a voice inside her head.

She grasped her hair, confused. If she had followed her ego, she could have left Nicholas right away and lived happily alone. But what if her suspicions were not true and Nicholas does indeed have glioblastoma? Would she ever be able to forgive herself for allowing him to die alone?

Confused about what to do, she chose to hastily dress and leave the apartment as soon as possible to feel safe.

She could have recorded the endorsement video in her room at Nicholas’s apartment, but her thoughts became worse every time she was there, so she decided to rent a tiny studio. She finished creating content in just two hours. After entrusting all her products and belongings to Cathy, she rushed to the hospital to see Doctor Theodore.

“I have made a reservation to consult with Doctor Theodore at two o’clock this afternoon,” said Rebecca to the nurse on duty in the administration section.

The nurse smiled. “Alright, may I ask your full name and your date of birth?”

Rebecca nodded, she mentioned Cathy’s name and her date of birth. She knew that if she used her name, Doctor Theodore would refuse to see her. After the nurse verified her reservation, she sat peacefully in the waiting area, as if her visit to Doctor Theodore was solely for a medical consultation.

Twenty minutes later. “Miss Catherine Wilson?”

Rebecca rushed to her feet. Her steps felt light as she entered Doctor Theodore’s room since she was so certain of what she believed in.

Doctor Theodore said, “Please sit comfortably, Miss Wilson,” as he looked down and wrote something on the page.

Chapter 36

“Have you had lunch?” Doctor Theodore inquired, and his body stiffened as he noticed Rebecca standing in front of him, smiling calmly.

“Surprise surprise!” Rebecca exclaimed cheerfully. Her hand reached out to pull a chair and sit on it. Doctor Theodore immediately signaled the nurse to leave his room. “Mrs. Specter? Is there a particular reason why you used a fake identity?” Doctor Theo asked, trying to intimidate Rebecca but failing because she didn’t even blink when she looked at him.

Rebecca snorted. She leaned forward and looked closely at Doctor Theo.

“Is there a reason you keep calling me Mrs. Specter? Did you forget that you had a major role in my divorce from Harvey Specter? Call me Rebecca Harper, okay? You’re the one who gave me my maiden name, so don’t make fun of me. You got it?” she growled.

Rebecca could tell from the sight in his eyes that Doctor Theo had succumbed to her threat. “Okay, I’m not going to mince words; my body was fine after the accident, so there’s nothing you need to check. So, let’s get to the point! How much did Mia and Alicia pay you?” She inquired while playing with her nails, which were covered with fascinating nail art.

“I don’t comprehend what you’re saying. If you don’t have anything else to do, I’ll call another patient,” replied Doctor Theo, reaching out to click the button at the end of his desk, but Rebecca gripped his palm hard, her eyes fiercely focused.

“Don’t you dare! Are you sure you want to fight someone who has lost everything? To be honest, I’m not terrified of death, so dying together isn’t an issue for me. So answer my question! How much did Mia Specter and Alicia pay you?”

“Ma’am…” Doctor Theo leaned forward, his eyes glinting frighteningly, causing Rebecca to tremble. “Words without evidence are empty, so do whatever you want, and I’ll call 911 and tell them you’re bothering me,” he screamed, yanking Rebecca’s grip away.

Rebecca climbed to her feet.

“I know you and Mia know each other; it’s just a matter of time before I can prove it! I can smell your downfall, Theodore, and I cannot wait to see it. There’s no need to contact 911 because I’ll get them here to handcuff you. Criminal doctor!”

Doctor Theodore’s face turned red instantly. He didn’t say anything and just sat, clenching his fists tightly. If he wasn’t in his doctor’s office, he might have hit Rebecca

Just as Rebecca was about to step out, Doctor Theo’s cell phone rang on the table. Rebecca glanced at it and saw Alicia’s name there. She snorted with laughter, “At least change the contact name to Michael or Luke or something,” she mocked, and left the room, knowing she wouldn’t get anything from Doctor Theodore’s mouth.

Rebecca clenched her fists. She was so enraged that her body shook uncontrollably. She went into Alicia’s room and pushed the door open without hesitation.

Alicia turned her head casually as if she were expecting Rebecca’s presence.

Rebecca snorted, “I forgot! Surely that idiot doctor told you, huh? I mean your friend Reynold Theodore.”

Alicia snorted and casually ate the pudding in her hand.

“Theodore, who?” she asked, with the most repulsive smile Rebecca had ever seen.

“Miss Sluttly, you really think you won over me, huh?” Rebecca mumbled as she pulled up a chair next to Alicia’s bed, took an apple, and bit it.

Alicia shrugged. “I’m not sure, but I have everything you no longer have, so consider that a win. At least Harvey will marry me soon,” she replied, displaying the diamond ring on her ring finger.

Rebecca screamed up laughter, spilling the apple out of her mouth into the floor. “You really don’t know anything, do you? Poor Alicia…”

Alicia chewed her pudding slowly, starting to pay attention to Rebecca, who was still laughing teasingly.

“Don’t you dare to laugh in front of me! Who do you think you are?” Alicia threw pudding at Rebecca, and just then the door opened, and Harvey stepped inside with a box of bread in his hand. He stared in surprise at Rebecca’s blouse, which was dirty with pudding.

“Alicia, what the hell are you doing?” he snapped, looking at Alicia and Rebecca alternately.

Suddenly, Alicia burst into tears. “She threatened to kill me, Harvey. She’s still obsessed with that unreal pregnancy,” Alicia lied so smoothly as if it were her specialty.

Harvey turned to Rebecca in surprise but there was no word coming out of his mouth.

Rebecca sat calmly, cleaning the pudding on her blouse with a tissue, unfazed by the situation. She walked over to Harvey, standing so close to him that Alicia almost jumped out of bed in a fit of jealousy.
