Chapter 15 Don’t Let Me Down Again
Layla rechecked the time over and over again. When she looked at the time, it was already ten to ten in the evening.
A colleague who was on the night shift just arrived. Seeing that she hadn’t left, the colleague couldn’t help asking, “Layla, didn’t you get off work at nine o’clock today? Why are you still here?”
“I’m leaving right now.”
Layla packed her things and walked out of the hospital.
When she arrived at the gate of the hospital, her phone suddenly rang. At the sight of the caller’s number on it, she was too frightened to answer it.
Just as she was about to answer it, the phone hung up.
Soon, a text message popped up: [Tonight, I hope to see you at home when I get back. Layla, don’t let me down again.]
Zachary’s words were very straightforward, and he felt that his request was very simple.
He just wished Layla would be sane, live a normal life, date, and get married. He wanted her to cut herself off from the old man altogether and to have no more to do with him.
Layla knew what Zachary was thinking. She also wanted to live a
She thought, “It is the last time. It is really the last time.”
She needed to put an end to their relationship.
Layla made up her mind and stopped hesitating. She hailed a taxi to the luxury apartment.
It was half past ten when she arrived at the apartment.
She opened the door and walked in lightly, only to see Wesley on the sofa looking at her with deep eyes.
She froze for a moment. She had seen his face many times, but since he had a fiancée, Layla felt breathless every time she saw
- it.
“Close the door.”
She did so, closing the door behind her.
“Come over.”
She clenched her long and slender fingers slightly and walked toward Wesley with her head down.
When she was still a step away from Wesley, she stopped suddenly.
Wesley reached out his big hand and pulled Layla into his arms.
Layla’s bag fell to the ground, and the mobile phone in her hand hit his chest.
Wesley frowned. He snatched the phone from Layla, glanced at
“Layla, you’re late.”
Layla lowered her eyes and remained silent.
Seeing this, Wesley hugged Layla’s waist with one hand and pinched Layla’s jaw with the other, forcing her to look up at him.
“But this time, I forgive you.”
Layla was startled by his sudden action. There was a flicker of panic in her bright eyes, and then only a deathly calm remained.
“Do you want to leave me?”
Layla avoided his eyes and remained silent. Her silence was the
answer.
“Layla, how many years has it been?”
Wesley straightened her face, forcing her to meet his gaze.
Layla knew that if she didn’t answer, he would not let her go today, so she said, “It’s been six years.”
“Yeah, it’s been six years.” After hearing her words, Wesley suddenly lowered his voice and said, “Even if I raise a dog, it will be close to me. What do you think?”
Layla was stunned, thinking that it turned out she was like his dog in his heart.
Suddenly, a cold touch came from her lips.
Looking at the magnified face in front of her, Layla was forced to
bear his kiss..
She reached out to push Wesley, but he was even fiercer.
With her in his arms, he turned over, pressed her on the sofa, and kissed her frantically. His fingers skillfully undid her clothes.
The bright light shone on the two of them, revealing her naked body before his eyes.
Wesley’s eyes burned with desire, like those of a wolf lost in the desert at the sight of its prey.
He wanted to swallow her into his stomach.
“No!”
