Chapter 48 He Won't Marry Her
The smile on Sarah's face disappeared, "Jeffery, what do you mean by this?"
Jeffery looked at her and pretended to be silly. A trace of disgust flashed in his eyes, and he said coldly, "I mean what you are thinking about. And, I won't marry you."
At this point, Sarah could no longer pretend to be innocent. Her face turned ugly in an instant, and at the same time, she was a little flustered. "Why? I am your fiancee. Why won't you marry me? Jeffery, I was wrong. Yesterday, it was my fault. I would never do it again, okay?"
She looked at him with tears in her eyes. Her face was a little pale, which made her look pitiful.
"I'm very grateful to you. You saved me that year. You can ask for anything, and I'll do what I can to satisfy you. but this one will never do." Jeffery leaned back in his chair lazily. He was not moved by her behavior at all.
"I don't need anything. I just want you. I like you, Jeffery. If I marry you, I can be a good wife." Sarah held his hands, with a little pleading in her eyes.
"But I don't like you." Jeffery pulled out his hand and said directly, regardless of whether she would accept or not.
"Impossible, what's wrong with me? Why don't you like me? And why didn't you deny it in front of the reporters yesterday?"
"That's because you saved me. I don't want to embarrass you in front of everyone." He snorted and casually said.
His words was undoubtedly a big blow to Sarah.
"No, it's not like that. Now everyone knows that I will be your wife in the future. You can't do this. Jeffery, what have I done wrong I will correctify." Sarah begged him.
Jeffery saw that he couldn't persuade her, so he didn't want to waste his words. He rubbed his forehead with a headache. "If you don't have anything to say, you can go back." After that, he lowered his head and continued to deal with the documents in front of him.
Seeing this, Sarah staggered and looked at him. Her hands hanging on both sides clenched tightly.
She was not willing to give up like this. She had loved him for so many years. Jeffery was hers, always hers. She would definitely become Mrs. Jones.
She was very smart. She knew If she persisted, it would only make Jeffery loathe him more.
Sarah restrained the emotions on her face and forced a smile, "Then I'll go back first, Jeffery."
After that, she walked out with a smile on her face. Even so, she could not let the people outside laugh at her. When passing through the secretary's office, she deliberately looked in the direction of Jane. Watching her come out with a sweet face, Jane felt even more uncomfortable.
She didn't know how she survived the whole day and finally got off work. Jane arrived at the underground parking lot immediately and saw Jeffery sitting in the car waiting for her. She took a deep breath, walked over and got into the car quickly.
Jane sat as far away as she could. She lowered her head and tried to ignore Jeffery as much as possible. However, Jeffery's face instantly darkened when he saw her movement. What did this little woman mean?
"Where were you last night?" Jeffery suppressed his anger for the whole day and questioned her that she actually dared to stay outside overnight last night.
After hearing his words, Jane pursed her lips slightly. "Well, I stayed at a hotel last night."
Listening to her words, he naturally
knew where she was last night. He had already asked his assistant to investigate her whereabouts. What made him angry was that she actually went to drink. Not only that, but also she drank in a mess. The most important thing was that she was with Joel.
Was she so reassured to gave herself to Joel?
As long as he thought of this, he would be extremely angry.
"You can't go back to my house whenever you want. If you still do this in the future..."
However, before Jeffery could finish his words, Jane interrupted him and said. "Well, I have found my own apartment. I will move out tomorrow." Since he was about to get married, what was the meaning of their current state? Rather than this, she would rather move out as soon as possible. Jeffery's face turned black instantly, and there was an extremely cold air around him.
Well, this little woman was so good that she wanted to move out so soon.
Ha!
Jane looked at him and felt a little scared to shrink around her neck. Why did he look a little unhappy when he heard that she was going to move out?
It must be an illusion. Why did she think so? He should be happy if she mentioned it. Jane smiled bitterly.
Neither of them spoke until they returned. Jeffery had been keeping a sullen face.
After dinner, Jane immediately ran
into the guest room and closed the door. She didn't know what was wrong with Jeffery. When she was
with him, she was really out of breath. Therefore, she just casually ate a few mouthfuls of rice and immediately ran up.
Jeffery watched her back as she raced up the stairs and smiled sarcastically.
Jane sat on the bed and looked out of the window at the dark night. She was in a trance. She would move out from here tomorrow. She didn't know why, but she actually didn't want to move out at all.
She lay awake until midnight. Besides, her stomach was so hungry that she couldn't sleep at all. She sat up directly from the bed and reached out to touch her stomach. Because of Jeffery, she didn't eat much at dinner.
She got up and walked towards the
door. She opened the door quietly and looked at the dark living room She walked downstairs quietly and entered the kitchen. It was late and she didn't know if there was anything to eat.
Jane opened the refrigerator and only saw some dry bread. She couldn't find anything to eat except for this. Seeing this, she sighed slightly and regretted that she hadn't eat more on dinner.
Just had she closed the refrigerator door and turned around, she saw a figure behind her, and she was entirely shocked.
When she saw Jeffery's face clearly, Jane stretched out her hand and patted her chest. Obviously, she was frightened by him.
