Beyond the Divorce by Third Blossom

Chapter 1286 A Small Gesture

Ivanna drew me to a seat in the ward's lounge area and inquired, "Is Rory really back? Tell me about his condition. Is he okay? Is it true that he can't walk? What did the doctor say...? Ivanna bombarded me with so many questions that I felt a little overwhelmed.

"He's not doing so well right now. But fortunately, our plan was solid, and we managed to bring him back. If we had found him any later, he might have... sigh!"

My eyes welled up with tears, but I continued, "But he's back now, and he's alive. We need to take good care of him from now on. As for his leg... we'll have to wait for the final test results. Atlas is confident he'll recover, and he's hired an excellent orthopaedic surgeon. I trust him!"

"That's good. As long as Atlas is confident, there shouldn't be any problems." Ivanna nodded.

I looked at her belly and touched it gently with a smile. "How about you? Is the baby behaving? Are you still experiencing morning sickness?"

"I'm much better now. The morning sickness has passed, and I'm enjoying my meals. See, isn't it big?" Ivanna asked proudly, stroking her belly.

I examined it briefly and nodded. "Yes, it's big! Can you feel the baby?"

"Yes, there are flutters, and sometimes it even kicks me!" Ivan beamed with happiness, looking every bit like a contented woman.

I couldn't help but touch my flat stomach instinctively. Surprisingly, Ivanna's gaze fixed on this insignificant motion. She immediately asked, "You... could it be... are you pregnant too?"

She looked at me eagerly. I nodded, my face turning hot. "The doctor confirmed it last night. I had no idea at all."

"My goodness, you're brave. You went to Cirencester in this condition? Didn't you encounter any danger there?" she asked in shock. "There's no way nothing happened during your trip!"

"No danger?" scoffed at Ivanna's

words. "The people there are on the edge. Just think about it. It was definitely dangerous. If it weren't for my quick thinking, I might have lost my life there! Even Arnold was injured!"

I didn't hide anything about my experience there.

I still shuddered when I thought about how I had outwitted Millard Jaden. He was a ruthless killer, but in the end, he protected us... sigh!

I thought about the narrow escape we had during the mall attack in Trestlewood too. It was terrifying to think about. There had been nowhere to hide!

"What happened? Was the rescue very dangerous?" Ivanna asked. "I asked Jared, and he said it was tricky, but he didn't go into detail with me because he was afraid I'd worry."

"He knows what you're like. It would

be strange if he told you." I glanced at her and smiled helplessly. "This isn't something that can be explained in a few words. I can't tell you everything today. We're going back to Fremont Bay later. tell you When we have time."

"It's a good thing you rescued Rory like you wanted," Ivanna said with a lingering fear. "By the way, have you told your family about this?"

"Atlas should have made the arrangements. When I left, I wasn't even allowed to take my phone. My parents knew I went there, but I won't tell them about this until we return." "They'll be okay with it, right?" Ivanna asked, worried.

"They were concerned at first, but I

explained things to them very clearly. I didn't intend to hide anything from them. He's my

biological father, after all. I'm l

they won't have any objections."

"That's good. You need to deal with this relationship properly." Ivanna looked a little worried. "Why are you so eager to go back to Fremont Bay?"
