Chapter Benson 8

Chapter 8 Mutual Regrets

Yvonne stood in the comer of the room, her gaze irresistibly drawn to Benson, who had just stepped out of the bathroom. His bare upper body glistened with droplets of water that traced the lines of his toned muscles. The towel hung casually to his waist, exuding an effortless allure.

Her heart raced. She had always known Benson had an enviable physique, but seeing him up close now filled her with an unprecedented shyness.

A thought crossed her mind such a perfect body, and she had never truly possessed it, leaving her with a sense of regret.

Benson seemed to sense Yvonne’s gaze. He approached her with a teasing smile on his lips.

His eyes sparkled with mischief, as if challenging her boundaries.

Yvonne felt her cheeks heat up, her heart pounding even faster.

tense and charged.

In this enclosed space, the distance between them grow smaller, and the atmosphere became ten

Yvonne, you look like you’re feeling bot,” Benson’s voice was low and magnetic, his eyes fixed on her face.

Yvonne felt Bustered. She tried to stay calm, but her voice trembled slightly, “No…no.”

Benson interrupted her, his tone playful, “You know, your neck is already turning red.”

Yvonne’s checks burned even minte. She didn’t know how to respond to Benson’s teasing. She lowered her head, trying to avoid his gaze, but Benson kept pressing closer.

Yvonne, what are you avoiding?” Benson’s voice held a hint of provocation. “Haven’t you ever seen a man without clothes?”

Yvonne’s heart pounded like a drum. She lifted her head and met Benson’s eyes, “Benson, what do you mean by this?”

Benson smiled, a cunning glint in his eyes but didn’t answer.

Yvonne felt a sense of powerlessness. She knew Benson was teasing her, but she couldn’t resist. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her emotions, Benson, do I have something on my face?”

Benson moved closer to Yvonne, his voice oven lower, “Let me take a closer look”

Just then, Yvonne remembered something and quickly said, “Mom asked you to go downstairs.” Her words broke the tension between them like a command.

Yvonne turned and hurried out of the room, her steps quick, as if she were fleeing from something

Outside the room, Yvonne’s heart still raced.

She leaned against the hallway wall, taking deep breaths to calm herself. She began to reflect on Benson’s behavior, filled with questions. Was Benson’s teasing genuine, or just a joke?

Had their relationship reached a point where such intimate interaction was possible? Yvonne felt confused and couldn’t make sense of it

But since becoming lilo siblings, their interactions had become more harmonious.

Yvonne slowly walked downstairs, her heart full of complex emotions.

Her recent interaction with Benson upstates had left her feeling confused and uneasy. Now, she had to face Benson’s mother, a person who played an important role in her life.

Benson’s mother, a graceful middle–aged woman, saw Yvonne coming downstairs and gently embraced her.

Her voice was gentle, “Dear, although our in–law relationship might be ending, what a pity. But I promise you, I won’t treat you unfairly. I decided to give you half of Benson’s shares, properties, and real estate.”

Yvonne was taken aback, not expecting such an offer from Benson’s mother.

She shook her head lightly, her tone firm, “Mom, thank you for your kindness, but I can’t accept this.”

Benson’s mother didn’t seem surprised, “Yvonne, if it weren’t for your father saving Benson and his dad during that accident years ago, they might not be here. But your father met with misfortune, losing his life in the fire. That foolish son of mine always thought it was some woman who saved him, and even cheated on you during your marriage. Such a good girl, and he doesn’t want you. It’s infuriating”

A wave of sadness surged in Yvonne’s heart. She knew Benson’s mother was spealding the truth.

Her father had indeed met with misfortune because of that rescue.

But she took a deep breath, “Dad volunteered to save them. Anyone else would have done the same. I don’t need to exchange that for anything.” Benson’s mother spoke steadily, “Yvonne, your father was an excellent fashion designer who ran the company well. But after the accident, the company was divided and lost its value. Benson’s father bought the company and walted for you to grow up. A few months ago, we handed the company over to you.”

Yvonne knew this was the Taylor family’s way of compensating her, but she didn’t think it was necessary. She was grateful for the Taylor family’s help, but she preferred to prove herself through her own abilities,

Benson’s mother seemed to understand Yvonne’s determination. She continued, “I know you’re independent, Yvonne. But I still hope you can accept our goodwill. Besides the company. I also plan to give you part of Taylor Group’s energy company, Taylor Real Estate, and Taylor’s Garde Bio.

After explaining everything, Benson’s mother asked the lawyer to handle the relevant procedures.

As she turned around, she noticed her son Benson was staring at Yvonne, his eyes filled with complex emotions,

Benson’s mother nudged him, her tone slightly urgent, “Do you agree?”

Benson was half–lying on the soft sofa, one hand resting casually on the armrest, the other flipping a lighter indifferently.

His eyes revealed a detached attitude, as if everything around him had nothing to do with him.

In response to his mother’s question, Benson just shrugged lightly, his tone indifferent, “It’s all your stuff. You decide. I have no opinion.” His voice was flat, without any waves, as if it didn’t matter to him.

Benson’s mother was satisfied with his response. She then instructed Yvonne to get a jewelry box from her room.

After Yvonne left, only mother and son remained in the living room.

Benson’s mother looked at her son, her tone teasing. “You’re staring at her. Isn’t Yvonne beautiful? Do you regret it? If you do, it’s not too late.”

Benson smiled slightly and shook his head, “I don’t regret it. I just found it amusing how Yvonne blushes.” His voice was light, as if he found Yvonne’s reaction interesting.

Benson’s mother raised an eyebrow, a shrewd look in her eyes, “Amusing? I think you have feelings for Yvonne. You keep staring at her when she blushes?

She thought to herself, no one knows her son better than she does.
