Becoming the Alpha (Amethyst Pack BK2)

The Alpha’s all howl out together, sending the message to begin our battle as I led my pack into the throngs of vampires.

They charged at us, some sluggish and slow because of the grenades, but we didn’t have nearly enough of them to cover everything.

“Left flank!” Oliver growls as I see a huge surge of vampires flit our way.

“Calvin, keep an eye on the right!” I call.

“You’ve got it!” He answers as the hunters shoot to our right.

“Pauline! Slow them down, send the grenades further!” I howl as I tear into a group of vampires that were swarming around the twins.

“Move!” I growl as they get back to the others.

“Serena!” Poppy screams behind me as I leap through the battle.

“Craig! Help me get to Poppy!” I call as he nods and we work together, tearing vampires limb from limb as we reach her, stopping a claw from tearing through her throat as Craig has her leap onto his back.

A yelp distracts me as I see Yasmin go down, a flurry of vampires crowding her.

“Twins! Get her out!” I order as they leap into action.

“Serena! They’re all heading towards you and your Dad!” Quinn calls out as I growl.

“Serena!” Liv calls as she and part of the pack are separated.

“Shit! Push through! Formation!” I growl as I tear through, but I’m smacked hard as I go flying through the air towards the densely populated road of vampires.

“Serena!” Zane howls.

A circle forms around me as not a single vampire attacks me as I growl, snapping at any one of them who comes near me.

“Don’t kill her, he wants her!” They hiss.

“Come on then!” I growl as I leap into action, clawing and biting at every vampire that gets in my way between me and my pack.

“Alpha!” Oliver comes bolting through them as we fight back to back.

“We can’t get through!” Liv calls as I see a herd of vampires between us, how Oliver had got through I would never know.

“Stick together, do not break rank!” I order as I hear a loud yelp behind me as blood sprays everywhere and a link snaps in my heart.

“OLIVER!” I howl as he’s ripped across the stomach, rage burning through my heart as I go through the vampires, tearing them apart as I howl in pain.

“Luna Talia’s dead! Her pack is going down!” Quinn calls.

“Get to them! Help them!” Dad calls.

“You’re asking me to choose between your daughter and the Luna’s right now Grayson!” Quinn growls.

“Get the LUNA’s!” I growl.

My eyes dart to my pack as I see them overwhelmed as I panic, pushing through vampires as I howl in pain at every slash against my skin. I drag Oliver’s body with me as I push through, blood dripping from my mouth.

“I’m coming, Serena!” Calvin calls as the truck drives over everything in its way as I manage to push to it, throwing Oliver’s body to the top.

“Formation!” I growl as I get to the pack once more.

“We’re fucked, Serena! There’s no way through!” Liv panics.

Suddenly a flurry of gunshots rings through the air as hunter trucks come barrelling through to our left.

“The cavalry has arrived!” Calvin laughs.

“Push through! We’ve lost Oliver, we do this as a pack, we can’t split now! Push through, push hard, stay strong and together!” I order as we continue on.

A yelp distracts me as a vampire gets a lucky shot at my face as silver courses through it as I howl in pain but keep going, that was going to scar but the pack was more important.

“Daniel!” David howls as he holds up his twin who is limping, his leg broken.

“Get him in the truck!” I order as David and Craig manage to get him through.

“Serena! Is Daniel ok?! I felt him get hurt!” Carla calls in a panic.

“Broken leg, he’s fine, he’s in the truck,” I tell her, no point in lying to her.

“This sides clear, they are all heading towards you and your Dad, Serena!” Quinn links to me.

“What of the Luna’s?!” I ask as I tear a vampire from Tony who nods gratefully, jumping over me to help Pauline in turn.

“Dead, most of their pack is dead!” He says.

Pain courses through me as I feel the link to Lucien weaken between us, he must be seriously hurt.

“Quinn, get to my father!” I order as he howls in the distance.

“What about you?!” He says.

“We’ve got back up now, hunters came our way,” I call.

“Serena! Silas needs my help!” Pauline cries out.

“I’ve got this Pauline! Go!” Poppy calls.

“Go!” I nod as she teleports in a flash.

“Lucien’s down!” Carla cries in my ear.

“Keep him alive Carla!” I call back.

“I’m on it!” she says.

Again and again, we tear through the vampires as we cull the numbers, getting closer and closer to the foster house.

I howl in anger as I see Yusif standing beside two of the witches from Pauline’s old coven.

“Serena, they have their own border up!” Poppy shouts.

“Can you take it down?!” I growl.

“It’s going to take me a minute!” She calls.

“Then get started, we’ll buy you time!” I call as I have the pack surround her as she kneels before the border, muttering her magic.

“We’re not going to last much longer Serena!” Tony smacks a vampire in the face, he was a vampire and even he was getting winded.

I looked at the pack, they were all tired.

“Dad! We’re not going to make it! We’re fucked!” I call as we’re surrounded, and Poppy was struggling behind me.

“Quinn! Take over for me, I’m going for Serena!” I hear him call through the open link.

“Hold on guys, we can do this!” I push some of my energy to the pack as we drive harder.

“NO!” Poppy screams out as I turn to her in tears.

“What?!” I call out.

“Silas! He’s dead!” She shakes in sadness before her eyes change to the darkest of blacks, rising in the air as I look in shock.

“POPPY!” Craig howls.

She claps her hand and it’s like an earthquake ripples through the ground as I feel the border drop.

“Push on!” I order as the pack works with me to push to the house as Poppy sends a flurry of bright red orbs towards it as it explodes piece by piece revealing the witches inside.

“Take them down!” I call to Calvin as he aims with the dart gun.

“Serena, Daniel’s losing too much blood!” David links to me.

“Calvin! Shoot the fuckers and get Daniel out of here!” I growl as he aims again, Poppy helping him as the darts fly straight to their targets, knocking out the witches and their powers, nothing but human now as they look out in shock before bolting, but not before Tony rips them to pieces.

Yusif was holed up inside the building still as we tore through vampires who were surrounding us completely again as my Dad came flying in, darting past Calvin who was driving the twins back to the base.

“You came alone!” I growl as he joins me by my side.

“The others were busy Serena!” He growls back.

“We’re going in for Yusif! Stick to formation and stay together!” I order as what was left of the pack backed up with us as we get to the house, I burst through the huge doors I had locked on me many times as I came across Mr Henson himself.

“Good to see you again Serena,” He hisses.

I shift so he can hear me, Dad, behind me as I wanted to do this as myself.

“Can’t say the same Henson,” I growl before he runs at me, I dodge his punch, tripping him to the ground as I pull on his hair, bringing his head into my arms as I twist hard, ripping it from his head.

“Good girl,” Dad smiles as his wolf.

“Yusif!” I growl out as I sniff out for him, smelling him upstairs.

“Stay here,” I tell Dad as he nods.

“Finish this sweetheart,” He says with pride as I run up the stairs.

“Come on you prick, face me!” I growl.

“Over here!” He whispers as I turn but he’s moved quick as a flash.

“Oops, now I’m here!” He says behind me again, flitting from place to place.

“Now I’m here!” He laughs as I hear him downstairs as Dad growls as I run back down the stairs as I see the worst thing I could ever see, Yusif tears the jaw from my father’s head and then crushes his skull as pain rushes through me.

“NO!” I scream as I shift and leap over to Yusif, pinning him to the ground as he looks up at me menacingly.

“Poor little alpha has lost her daddy again, such a shame,” He says in a baby cooing voice.

I howl before tearing his face from his skull, skin ripping from him as he screams in pain, his claws scratching at me as I ignore every little bit of the pain.

I rip his other arm off to stop him from scratching as I pick him up by his blood-soaked head which, thanks to his vampire healing was keeping him alive.

I drag him outside as he screams, the battle still on outside.

“Tell them to stop!” I growl, throwing him to the ground.

“Fuck you!” He gurgles.

I snarl, howling out so loud it’s like it causes vibrations in the air as it gets everyone’s attention, even the vampires attacking.

“It’s over!” I growl.

“It will never be over, your daddy is still dead, the Luna’s were killed, and my vampires will tear through your ranks!” He laughs.

A howl sounds in the distance as my father’s pack and Quinn’s drive through the vampires.

“Want a bet,” I growl as his eyes go wide.

I look behind me at my father’s body, whining before turning back to Yusif.

“You’re done!” I growl before tearing his head from his body, crushing it with my mouth before howling in pain, driving the packs to push harder than ever as we ripped through every single vampire that got in our way.
