Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1215

Willy turned around and darted straight into the rain without taking the umbrella handed over by Hart.

Watching the car drifting into the distance, Hart turned around to enter the villa. Right then, in the backyard, Lauren was playing with the baby on her fours. "Miss..."

At the door, Hart reported the situation in detail. Her hands that had been shaking the toy paused before Lauren turned around to glance at him.

"All right, I get it! Don't mention anything in front of Elijah!"

As he lowered his head in response, Hart shifted his gaze downwards. "Noted! I'll take my leave!"

Turning around, he retreated and closed the door gently behind him. Before Lauren could come to her senses, a small figure had climbed onto her body. Yvette babbled.

Grabbing her sleeves and her elbow, the little girl excitedly clambered onto her thighs. Standing up, she threw herself into Lauren's arms, stomping around, giggling as if she was dancing. It was much to Lauren's surprise. Holding the child in her arms, Lauren kissed her on her ruddy cheeks.

"Yvette, you did great! My dear baby, since we've had enough fun, shall we go to bed?"

Carrying the child in her arms, Lauren headed towards her room. Her eyes fell on her daughter's excited ruddy face as a hint of sorrow pervaded her gaze. "Why are you so excited today?"

In the past, Yvette should have been soundly asleep by that hour! Did Yvette know that she was in an awful mood or that her daddy was coming over?

Just as the thought flashed in her mind, a watery smooch came attacking her cheeks. In an instant, Lauren's eyes moistened, sparkling.

She tilted her head in surprise. When Lauren's eyes met her daughter's, a soft head came snuggling in her cuddle with her arms wrapped around her neck, giving Lauren another smooch on the lips.

Patting Yvette on her back, Lauren was shocked. The corners of her mouth could barely resist curling into a helpless lift. "You're indeed a bright kid..."

Holding the child, Lauren exerted more strength in her hands without realizing it as she thought to herself, "This was the best gift God has ever given me! My baby daughter!"

Her heart was overwhelmed with complex emotions. Right then, she had a sudden strong desire to leave all the best things in the world to Yvette, as long as she could grow up happily and healthily! Tugging Lauren's hair and fiddling with it, the child soon fell asleep in her arms. It was such a quiet and serene sight. She was so obedient, yet so sweet.

Outside the window, a heavy gale blew as the rain splattered. By the bed, Lauren stared at the child for the whole night, dazed...

On the other hand, as soon as he returned home, Elijah received a report from Hart. "Do you mean Willy?"

"Interesting! How are they acquainted?!"

Hart explained before Elijah could not help mumbling, "All right, I understand! Since she doesn't want me to know, do as she wants!"

Laurie... He wanted to see what she was up to!

"Mr. Elijah, you mean..." "You don't have to report it all to me in the future.

If it isn't an overly complicated issue related to life and death, you can handle it with full authority! Laurie, do as she says! That's the same case for the Luther family!"

"Noted, I understand!"

"That's right!"

After hanging up the phone, Elijah shook his head. How long did she intend to hide a living human being from him? Child?

There wasn't any relationship between the child and the Bowles family, was there?!

After a month of hard work, Willy got off the plane and stepped onto Casterwich City, determined to return home.

"Willy, here..."

After shoving the suitcase to Lexx, Willy withdrew his mobile phone with his free hand. The first thing he did was to access his contacts. As they walked, Lexx cleared the obstacles along the way, not forgetting to report his work.

"Everything was dealt with. It's all

carried out as planned, and the

company is doing well. All you have to do is to sign several contracts before we can place them on agenda! I booked a table to welcome your return at Milan Hotel, seven in the evening!"

"Well, we'll talk about it in a bit!"

Just as he was about to mention that he was hurrying to a date, Willy's phone rang. Noticing the call from his mother, he turned towards a quiet corner.

"Mom!"

"You've gotten off the plane, haven't you? I know you're returning to the country today, which is why I ordered the kitchen to cook larger portions for dinner. Come home for dinner!"

"Mom, I'm tired..."

As he rejected the offer, Willy was as anxious as a cat on the hot tin roof. He hadn't seen her for a long time, not to mention how he owed her an apology! It had been bugging him all along. Right then, Lauren's figure lingered in his mind! Halfway through his words, Vanessa retorted, saying, "Your grandpa is talking to your father. Kayden might come over in a bit. Come home earlier!"

Understanding the underlying meaning behind his mother's words, Willy knew that he was left with no choice but to attend the family dinner. Exasperated, he could only nod. "Fine!"

Hanging up the phone, he heaved a long sigh. It seemed that he must cancel all his appointments on the spot. "Willy?"

"We'll talk about it all later. For now, let's return home!"

He had been drowsy all the journey. When he arrived at the door, however, Willy seemed to have changed into a different person the moment he exited the car. By the time he stepped into the manor, he was brimming with energy. "Mom, I'm back!"

As his words fell, a cane struck him on his shoulders. "You b*stard, why won't you hide anymore? Since you've hidden for a month, why don't you wait for me to lie on my deathbed before you scramble home?"

Chuckling, Willy went past the old man's walking stick and placed his arm around Mr. Bowles's shoulder.

"Grandpa, your body is as strong as ever, and your voice is loud and clear. I'm pretty certain you can live for another eighty to a hundred years. Can we stop fighting as soon as we meet? In the past, you would always use golf clubs, but now, you use canes! I'm no longer a child, and could you please calm down? It's because I knew that you were coming, so I wanted to complete all my job in advance. Who would have thought that you would come over ahead of schedule?"

"His eyebrows lifted to an annoyed arch as he tapped his cane. There was, however, an irresistible smile at the corner of his tightly pursed lips. "What do you mean? Do you think I'm too early? Is it my fault?" "How could that be? It's definitely my fault! I should have clarified your schedule! Grandpa, calm down!"

Willy settled Mr. Bowles down on the sofa and made him a cup of tea.

Eyeing him, Mr. Bowles patted the seat next to him, urging Willy to sit down, followed by Alfred and Vanessa sitting across from them.

"You do know that you're no longer a child! Why is it that you're always running around then?! There will always be endless work to deal with, so what's the point of you working so hard? Is it all for your afterlife? Start a family! I can't stop worrying about all of you! You mentioned how others are blinded by women out there, so why can't you settle down when you only have a woman by your side?"

At the mention of the troublesome thoughts, Mr. Bowles' face, which had initially been surging with vitality, seemed to have aged by decades in the blink of an eye.
