Chapter 18
Chapter 18
The party was held in Valmead Hotel, the best hotel in Jerraloth. Parents took cars to leave first, and the students who would perform should all take the school bus.
In the school bus, Alexa frequently glanced back at Fiona, who was nestled in the corner of the last row. She tried hard not to argue with Flona. Even though Fiona’s outspoken nature tested her patience, Alexa was steadfast in her resolve to maintain her composure.
Clare, who was sitting next to Alexa, also looked unhappy. She gritted her teeth and said, “What a country bumpkin! How dare she perform such an attention–seeking dance? She ought to be expelled from school,” Clare had made a mistake in the previous show. If Fiona was sensible, she should have fallen down when dancing, Howevel, Fiona didn’t fall but danced so well, which made everyone think Clare was inferior to a country girl. Clare believed that Fiona was deliberately embarrassing her. “We should teach her a lesson,” said Clare angrily.
Alexa withdrew her gaze, looked at furious Clare, and clenched her fists. She didn’t believe that Fiona could always be so lucky.
The bus stopped at Valmead Hotel, Before Fiona got oll, she saw a group of reporters rushing over with cameras and microphones. So she sat down directly in the seat beside her.
The night had fallen. Inside the hotel, the lights were bright, Soon, Evelina led a group of security guards out of the hotel, followed by Cora.
The security guards came forward and evacuated the reporters from the blocked bus door,
Then Fiona walked to the door, Evelina looked solemn and dissatisfied with the reporter who handed her the microphone, saying, “Blueden Girls‘ School is a place for education, not showbiz. If you’re seeking news, go elsewhere!”
Fiona got off and saw Cora approaching her. “Fiona?” Cora called her in an uncertain tone,
Fiona put her hand in the pocket of the down jacket, looked up at Cora, and nodded.
Cora’s expression turned to a frown as she noticed Fiona’s lack of discipline and overly casual attire. She then said, “You should head to the hotel later and remove your coat. Put on the school uniform dress you had on while performing on stage today. I will escort you in first.”
as persuading the reporters to leave. When she saw Cora and Fiona standing together, she frowned and her face darkened.
Fiona smiled and gave Evelina a wink to reassure her. Then she followed Cora into the hotel.
Cora said with a smile as she walked, “Fiona, you are the most talented student I’ve seen since I worked at Bluedon Girls‘ School. I intend to cultivate you

to be the star of Blueden Girls‘ School. Today’s guests are all big shots who have a high status in the upper class. You should follow me and I will introduce you to them one by one. With your appearance and taleht, it is not difficult for you to marry into a wealthy family. You should know what to do.
Fiona’s performance in the afternoon was very amazing. As soon as the commencement ceremony ended, many rich men came to ask about Fiona and let Cora introduce them to Fiona
-Cora knew Fiona’s background. On the way to the hotel, she tested Macy, who only cared about Alexa and didn’t treat Fiona as her daughter at all. Although Fiona did well this time, Macy was unhappy and blamed her for stealing Alexa’s thunder. Fiona’s parents didn’t care about her, so she had no one to rely on. Even if something happened to Fiona, it would not be a big trouble. Cora believed it was easy to control Fiona.
Fiona had heard a lot about Cora from Evelina before today. So she saw through Cora’s intention at a glance and asked with a half–smile, “what should I do?” Before Cora could say anything. Fiona sneered and cut off her words, “Blueden Girls‘ School has resided in Paellan for nearly a century. Have you forgotten the reason for its relocation to Jerraloth? Are you weary of indulging in excessive delicacies and longing for the cuisine in confinement?”
Cora’s expression changed dramatically. A few years ago, Blueden Girls‘ School was located in Paellan. There was a beautiful student whom Cora thought had no powerful background. So Cora used the girl to make a sex deal. However, she offended the wrong person. At that time, if it weren’t for Evelina’s help, Blueden Girls‘ School would have been gone and Cora would have been kept in prison for the rest of her life. Macy didn’t even know about this.

How did Fiona f
out?
Fiona took two steps towards Cora and said, “The original intention of the Harris family to establish Blueden Girls‘ School was to provide a place to learn for girls who wanted to study but had no connections at that time, not to marry into a wealthy family. Cora, you are also a woman. How could you teach those girls to treat themselves as a commodity for trading? Your acting of principal is over.”
Fiona had been a little hesitant about inheriting Blueden Girls‘ School, but she couldn’t bear that Cora dared to trade her.
Cora didn’t expect that she would be threatened by a freshman. She couldn’t breathe smoothly and pointed at Fiona, scolding. “Do you wanna fire me? Who do you think you are? Believe it or not, I’ll…” Before Cora could say that she would expel Fiona, Evelina came over. Instantly, Cora put down her hånd and smiled as if nothing had happened. She looked at Evelina and said, “Mom, I’ll entertain the guests inside first.”
Evelina said seriously, “Call me Principal Harris.”
“Principal Harris,” Cora called reluctantly and glared at Fiona with a warning look.
Fiona looked at Cora’s back and smiled at Evelina. Evelina put her arm around Fiona’s shoulders and smiled kindly, saying, “What did she just say to you?”
“She is worried about my marriage and wants to introduce me to someone.”
Evelina snorted angrily. Fiona approached Evelina and said, “Calm down. Principal Harris, I have thought about your proposal. I agree.”
Evelina looked at Fiona in surprise and asked, “Are you serious?” Fiona affirmed with a nod and elaborated, “Principal Cora Harris has maintained a solid position in Jerraloth. Presently may not be the most opportune moment for me to assume leadership. If you rush to declare your intention to hand over the reins of Blueden Girls‘ School to me, I might face difficulties in claiming the position. In my view, it would be wise to keep our connection under wraps for now. I will orchestrate a scenario for you to remove Principal Cora Harris from her post. Then you can nominate me as her successor.”
Evelina was pleasant and smiled happily, saying, “It’s up to you.”
“Alexa, who is that old lady? Principal Harris seems to be a little afraid of her. Fiona is such an apple–polisher!” Clare said…
lexa’s eyes turned red with jealousy when she saw Fiona and Evelina talking and laughing as they walked into the hotel.
Clare didn’t know Evelina, but Alexa knew. Although Blueden Girls‘ School was now managed by Cora, Evelina had the most say. Evelina had more connections than Cora. Alexa had always tried hard to flatter Evelina, but Evelina didn’t buy it at all. Instead, Evelina liked Fiona very much.
Alexa’s face darkened as she said, “Let’s go in.” She couldn’t let Fiona be superior to her.
In the party hall, the bright lights illuminated the scene as the guests engaged in toasting and chatting. Fiona’s gaze fell upon Sebastian, who stood out in is extraordinary blue gown amidst a sea of suited guests.
