lan looked at his sister’s innocent little face and shattered her fantasy. “Bad guys are bad guys because they can love many women at the same time. Don’t be blinded by this bad guy Elijah.” 

Rita felt a bit disappointed 

She didn’t dare to tell her brother that even if Elijah was a bad guy, she was somehow attracted to him. 

After dinner, Violette called lan to her room for a private talk. 

“lan, do you know what mom wants to talk to you about?”

“lan, Elijah is not as easy to deal with as you think. Mom has already divorced him. If one day he no longer has feelings for me, and you went to him. He won’t let us go easily. All mom wants is a quiet life with you, Rita, and grandma.” 

“I understand.” lan lowered his head again. 

“Bring me your laptop” Violette said. 

lan went back to his room, got his laptop, and handed it to his mom, 

“Get Uncle Mike here” Violette put the laptopaside and spoke to her son. 

Soon, Mike entered the room. 

“Violette, I’m so surprised that you asked me to come to your room!” Mike sat down next to Violette and hid his nervousness with a smile. 

Violette looked serious, staring at the injury on his face, “Did you fight with Joey? And broke his glasses?” 

Mike raised both hands, looking very innocent, “He pulled my necklace first. It was a gift from my ex–boyfriend…” 

“Aren’t you supposed to hate your ex–boyfriend? So it’s fake, huh!” 

Mike: “I really hate him! It’s just that I’ve been wearing this necklace for so long, it’s like my child Joey wanted to take my child away, of course I had to beat him up.” 

“You go apologize to him.” Violette didn’t want to hear his argument. “Either tonight or tomorrow.”

She took out the birthday gift Elijah sent from her pocket,

Opening the box, a beautiful brooch appeared before her eyes.
