Chapter 208: Cleaning up Checkpoint 01, Sudden News
Although the number of mosquitoes and bees that wreaked havoc across Checkpoint 01 was quite numerous. Their numbers were fruitless as two overwhelmingly dominant parties had begun a slaughter like no other.
A sea of flames doused everything for a few dozen meters as the temperature rose to extreme degrees as any living being swept into it was burnt crisp. Leo stood at the center of this flame as he struck his fist out every now and then sending a series of flaming punches towards nearby monsters of the Insect Hive.
Swish! A few of these giant mosquitos and bees were quite fast; their eyes flickered in a cold light as their wings flapped at crazy speeds, propelling them in a myriad of directs as they left behind remnant shades as some of them had avoided Leo's attacks.
'Shit! So troublesome...' Leo inwardly cursed as he then used his [Flaming Palm] skill.
A large fiery palm appeared directly before him smashing a few of the other insects before burning them into nothingness. However, those that had narrowly dodged Leo's attacks swept across the air as they made a swift arc, preparing to strike him from behind.
Leo narrowed his eyes prepared to counter-attack, but right at this moment, a series of 'peng-peng' noises resounded as a rain of golden-colored bullets had collided with each of them.
The moment this happened, each of these mutated insects was engulfed by a miniature explosion that destroyed their bodies, scattering their organs across the burning environment.
Leo, who now stood at ease in the raging blazed, nodded in satisfaction as he saw the broken body parts burning away in ashes. A blazing wind blew these ashes away to different directions were sounds of battles were similarly heard.
Leo looked towards a nearby building and saw Razel with his huge sniper rifle. As if he didn't need rest, Razel didn't hesitate to shoot a few more rounds towards a variety of areas.
'As always, I can count on him to watch my back...' Leo thought to himself, but after thinking here, he no longer continued to waste time as he hurriedly left this area and attacked other insects.
In the fairly close area, a series of broken constructions and heavy objects were floating in the air as they crashed towards the ground with immense force, crushing a myriad of bees and mosquitoes. Following this scene of carnage, a myriad of energy rays fired from another corner, leaving a hole in anything it passed, not to mention those of the Insect Hive.
At this time, both Irene and Julie were scene standing at the summits of another building with their arms held before them and hair flowing upwards due to their use of genetic energy.
The scene before them was no different from a blood bath as Julie's psychic powers crushed a large amount of the enemies with the floating constructs while Irene's Magic Ray bored a series of holes into the others.
"Ah... I'm already tired; I really can't keep spamming these attacks, they take too much energy..." Irene said in a slightly exhausted manner as she sat down tiredly while fanning her sweaty face.
"Jeez Irene, this is no time to complain! Whew… that should be everything on our side, Leo and Razel seem to have already finished up on their ends. The only one left is..." Julie was about to say something as she wiped the sweat from her forehead while looking at the scene, but a change soon occurred.
Bang! A thunderous sound resounded far and wide as a massive ten-meter large bee suddenly appeared from a different direction. Its wings now making noises no different from a fighter jet's engine as it swished through the structures at alarming speeds, crushing anything in its path.
Julie and Irene were a bit surprised, but their eyes shone a firm look, they were about to attack but suddenly, a loud voice sounded.
"Haha, leave it to me! Iron Charge!" Oron shouted as he jumped over from a different area, appearing directly before the giant bee.
In this instant, his muscular body grew slightly larger, taking on an iron-like hue as its skin gleamed like metal. Once this happened, he leaped from the ground towards the bee, which bolted towards it with a cruel look.
From its perspective, the tiny human was no more than an ant to be crushed in the passing. Yet, despite this feeling, its views would ultimately lead to its downfall.
With a loud sound, both man and bee had collided, sending a shockwave across the surrounding. However, unlike the scenario which one would expect, the scene that played out was vastly different.
Puff! The sound of flesh splattering about resounded as Oron's gore-filled body continued to charge through the giant bee's corpse. His Iron Charge was more than able to resist its onslaught as he had smoothly crushed through it with a tremendous amount of force.
Swoosh! In a moment, he had stopped moving as his feet slid against the ground before coming to a halt, he glanced behind him at the now building-sized corpse that spewed out blood in all directions as a smug look showed on his face.
"Tsk, it wasn't that tough, all size, and no substance..." Oron said with a hint of mock in his voice.
Oron felt proud, but suddenly, a hard-smacking noise was heard as an angry-looking Irene had appeared by his side, her dress now covered with bits of blood.
"Oron! Why don't you watch what you're doing, look how you've messed up my dress?" Irene said in an angry tone.
"Eh? Sorry-sorry! I... I got a bit distracted again," Oron clumsily said as he scratched the back of his head.
Irene then proceeded to curse him out with one hand pointed forward as her other arm rested on her waist, looking no different from a young mother lecturing a child.
Julie smiled as she saw this, she knew that they'd pretty much finished up on their ends, but though she wanted to rest, she also knew the battle wasn't over.
Swish! Suddenly, both Leo and Razel had appeared, Leo had tinges of flames wrapped around his body as Razel carried a sharp aura as he held his massive sniper rifle over one shoulder.
"Are you okay, Julie?" Leo asked in a concerned tone as he looked at her, noticing a few bits of blood on her shirt.
Julie felt a bit warm at his concern; she replied with a smile, "Yes, I'm fine, it's not my blood."
Leo nodded while looking at her with gentle eyes, as they both stared at each other.
Ahem! Razel said as he couldn't bear the sight, especially at such a time, Leo and Julie made awkward looks before they returned to normal.
Leo cleared his throated before he spoke, "Haha... sorry about that, I believe We've finished here, let's go and help Sir Evan and his..." Leo was about to suggest something, but suddenly, not only himself, Julie, Oron, Irene, and Razel had shifted their eyes towards the opposing section of Checkpoint 01.
BOOM! There, a massive explosive sound was heard as the entire checkpoint shook as if undergoing a tremor. Leo and the others were startled, but in only a few moments, a few silhouettes had appeared a few meters away from their position.contemporary romance
Each wore fine-looking medieval fantasy armor and capes along with similar kinds of weapons. Leo and the others looked at this a bit dazedly while one of them walked forward and spoke.
"You guys were a bit slow, we've already cleaned up the rest of the army, shall we get moving to the rural areas?" Evan said as he looked at Leo's group.
Leo and the others looked at each other when they heard his words, their minds carrying the same thoughts, 'These guys are even more dangerous than the monsters!'
Leo saw that Evan was still awaiting their decisions; he calmed down his mood and replied, "Sure, lead the way."
Evan nodded and prepared to move towards the nearest rural area. Still, before this could happen, Leo, Evan, and the others suddenly shifted their eyes onto the wristlet on their arms that had started to flicker on and off with a red light.
"Huh? An SOS requests? Which checkpoint is calling for help?" Leo murmured as he hurriedly played the message.
____
[This is a First-Class Warning! Our Major City is under attack by the Mosquito Witch, all bases and checkpoints are to hurry and send help! I repeat, hurry and send... he...]

A person was trying to speak, but before he could even finish his words, the message was interrupted.
When they heard this, the faces of Leo's party, as well as Evan, Joe, Layla, and the others were stunned as their eyes shifted towards the direction of the City of Hope.
A gloomy cloud had formed over the distance, causing them to look at this with a dark mood as they knew that the situation over there was far grimmer than it seemed.
'Crap! I'd have never thought they'd so quickly attack the city, I didn't even sense their army when it moved, such bad luck, we have to hurry,' Evan cursed in his mind.
Not wasting any time, he woke everyone from their daze and spoke, "Everyone, wake up, we have to hurry back to the city! We must get there and save however much we can! As for the plans, we'll discuss it on the way!"
Evan didn't hesitate as his body blurred and swept towards the direction of the distant city, Joe and the others were next to recover, they clenched their fists and followed along in a hurry.
"From one thing to the next, pssh," Joe said as he hurried along.
Rick, Layla, and the others from Evan's party linger as they quickly followed behind him, but as they moved, Leo's group had only then returned to normal.
"Darnit, Leo, let's go!" Oron said as he hurried along, Irene was currently in a panic, she didn't want to waste even a single moment.
Razel also followed behind them as Julie tapped Leo's shoulder giving him a deep look as she moved at a rapid pace.
"Damn! How could this happen? Father, please be safe!" Leo said in a mind as he too hurried to catch up with Julie and the rest of his companions.
In moments, both parties vanished as they ventured towards the City of Hope. The sole cradle of humanity that had now transformed into a chaotic battlefield.
