I spoke with Gamma Alec this morning but I didn’t learn a lot. He didn’t tell me who sent him or how he knew Anna-Lynn. He also refused to tell me which pack he came for safety reasons...The only thing he could tell is that He and she used to work together. She is also working in that Agency as a mediator. The only interesting thing I learned is Alistair also works for Team-L. He smiled when with spoke about him so I think they are friends.

After that, I decided to spend my morning with Tom and Nora and guess where we are? At the swimming pool! It’s what Tom wanted to do when we asked him. No way he is a wolf he loves water too much. That makes me think about Alistair who had met sirens... I really need to find a way to fix our relationship.

“What’s on your mind, my love?” Nora asked me.

“Alistair. I really need to apologize to him. I want him in our life. Even if I don’t approve of his mate’s choice, he is still my brother. I would have never accepted a witch as my mate but I need to respect his choice.”

“Their love is really strong. So strong that it was not possible to make him believed he was wrong or she was just his imagination.”

“But you still try? Why you didn’t tell me?” I ask.

“I had that feeling you will be disappointed if I failed. It was very intense and scary. I was trying for weeks to make him believe it was a dream and I was about to give up when an idea pops up in my head: to succeed I needed to erase all his memories.” She answers.

“And it worked?” I ask astounded.

“His wolf fought me but I was determined and I was winning until she....” she shivers not finishing her sentence.

“What do you mean you were winning?”

“I was able to erase his memories, almost all his memories. After l could have made him as you want him to be... Actually this is horrible but I don’t know when l did it, it was all making sense. I just knew I have to do it.”

“Why?”

“I don’t know it’s so not like me to be so determined and without asking for your opinion.” She tells me.

“It’s not what I wanted you to do. You know I love you and I will never be disappointed by you.”

“I know, I’m sorry. I don’t know what it took me. The worst is I could have killed him.”

“It’s okay, sweetheart.” I tell hugging her.

“Thank you for being so understanding.” She says hugging me back. “There is more through?”

“What are you talking about?” I ask while I keep hugging her. Her head is in my chest and she can’t see my face and the worries written on it.

“I didn’t have access to all his memories. A lot was blocked and I don’t know how? I didn’t see a lot of memories with his mate or also with uhm... her, your ex-mate. There was a specific memory where they were attacked and they were in a bad position. I tried and tried but I couldn’t see how it’s ended. Something or someone blocked me out and it was powerful. The same with his mate, I saw how they met, how they fall in love and after that nothing. Something happens that the force blocking me didn’t want me to see. ” Even saying Her and Ex-mate was difficult for her like painful.

Before we can keep going, Tom says: “Can I have a hug too?”

“Of course! Come here.” Nora and I say at the same time.

He jumps in out open arms. Damn it’s cold as he is all wet.

“Daddy stop talking with mommy and come to play in the water with me! please?” He asks a few seconds after we started the family’s hug.

He can’t stop moving for more than 7seconds. He is hugging us a lot but he’s mostly doing what I call Flash hugs. And yes, I counted one time and the maximum he stayed without moving was 7 fucking seconds.

“Let’s go!” I tell him.

I can’t stop thinking about what Nora told me. How she felt she needed to do it and how the idea to erase him popped up. It’s so not like her. That makes me ask myself what if Anna-Lynn was right? What if it’s Markus doing? No! I can’t accept that. And then during lunch she insisting to be present for the new patrol rotation meeting. Like really really insisted. Too much you know to be natural.

I accepted as she is my Luna but what if I’m putting my pack on danger. Even if I can’t accept the idea of Markus being a hybrid doesn’t that mean I’m ready to take that risk? God, I don’t know what to do!

Suddenly I smell Anna-Lynn’s scent. What she is doing here? Can she be here for the meeting? How does she know?

“Hey, what’s your sister is doing here?” I ask Aiden through the mind-link.

“Your father invited her to the patrol’s meeting. You didn’t know?”He answers right away.

“No, he didn’t say anything. Thanks!”I told him before cutting our connection.

“You ask her to come to the meeting without consulting me.” I say annoyed to my father through the mind-link again.

“Yes. It’s important that she comes and you would have disagreed.” Dad tells me.

“How dare you! You’re not the Alpha anymore. It’s not your decision to make.”I say angry.

“I know but hear me out, please. She is smart and has a lot of ideas that we could use.”

“And?” I ask him as I can feel there is more.

“And if she is here, Nora will not. I love Nora but this is the pack’s safety we are talking about. The pack comes first. I know you can’t accept the possibility of Markus a half bread vampire but we can’t take any risks.” He says and l sigh as I know he is right.

“I know.” I say defeated.

“Sorry, son I should have let you know at least.” He tells me.

“Yes. But you’re right. Nora asked me if she can come and I wasn’t able to tell her no.”

“This a good thing. Better if nobody is suspicious.” He tells me.

“What?” How can it be a good thing? I don’t follow him

“Be surprised and angry, when you will see Anna-Lynn in the meeting room. I will convince her to play her part.” He tells me.

“Okay.” He is right! I don’t want pack’s members to think I doubt their Luna and Nora will be hurt deeply if she knows.

“She’s in. She will be a total bitch so be ready.” My father tells me.

I’m surprised by his vocabulary. I’m not used to hearing him speaking like this.

“Not my words.” He adds before cutting the link.

Make more sense! Let’s do it.

When I arrive close to the meeting room I see Nora outside.

“Why are you waiting outside sweetheart?” I ask her.

“She is here!” Her voice is full of venom.

“Who?”

“Who do you think?” She says aggressively.

“Anna-Lynn? You’re sure?” I ask her faking I’m surprised.

“Don’t you dare say that’s bitch name! Are you so weak that you can’t even smell her.” She says furiously.

“Calm down Nora. What is happening to you?” I never saw her so aggressive. It’s so not like her.

“I want her out now!” She requires.

“I will make sure of that just calm down!” I tell her before entering the meeting room.

“What are you doing here?” I ask Anna-Lynn coldly.

“I’m here to work on the new patrols rotation.” She normally says. Playing her part my ass! She is not bitchy at all.

“I never ask you to come.”

“Well, I’m here.” She answers

“I want my Luna to be involved not you so leave!” I say faking to be angry.

“No!”

“No?” She’s surprising me. She is just a normal self.

“You have nothing to do here. You are not part of this park and soon you will not be here anymore. My Luna should be here.” Says Jake. I feel proud that he is standing up for his Luna.

“Well, I don’t ask for your opinion. If I was you, I would keep my mouth shut as I obviously failed my job. Rogues attacked twice, they killed one of your guards, hurt someone badly and were able to kidnap your future Alpha and Beta. And without me, it would have been worst. So learn to do your job first!” She retorts drily looking at him.

That bitch! How dares she! I can feel his guilt. I can see him bow his head in shame. She is so heartless.

“Out!” My anger is real this time. She really knows how to push all my buttons.

“No!”

“Now!” I scream.

“Make me!” She defies me.

“Out!” I order with my Alpha’s voice.

She smiles and says: “Yeah... No working. Now if we can start I have other things to do.”

She’s such a bitch! And I’m so pissed. Wait it was the plan no? Well it works well, so well that I not faking anything anymore. She starts to walk toward the door and open it.

She looks at Nora with a fake smile and says: “You’re coming or what? Too afraid to confront me?”

Nora leaves without saying anything. She looks upset and totally disgusted. Nobody says anything until my father clears his throw.

“Shall we?” He asks.

We spoke for a bit more of an hour. The new organization proposed by Jake is good and will be more efficient. Anna-Lynn didn’t speak at all only listened. Jake didn’t look at her once. She is really here to prevent Nora to be here. I know it’s needed just in case but damn it’s so frustrating!

“What do you think about the new plan?” My father asks Anna-Lynn as if she is a kind of expert.

“It’s a good one but you need to do the rotation randomly not always in a specific order. Jake can decide every day or you can draw which rotation for example. I would add two patrols groups too. One who will do random surveillance and the second to be “on-call” ready to take action quickly in case of emergency.” She says.

Damn, that’s clever!

“We will think about that.” I told her.

We kept talking about the patrol and when to start the new rotation for a half hour before I sent everybody back. Anna-Lynn is running after Jake who left quickly so I decided to follow them to see what she wants with him.

“Hey Jake, I just want to apologize. I was unnecessary harsh earlier. You are an excellent Omega and this pack is lucky to have you to protect them.” She tells him as soon as she caught up with him.

“You were but it was also true. If I was an excellent Omega this wouldn’t have happened.” He tells her.

“You are fighting a formidable enemy. A very dangerous one because of his patience and dishonesty. He is not playing fair and never will. You are a good Omega but you are honest so you need to work twice more than him. And I know you are more capable to do that.”

“How as I already failed twice?” He sighs

“Then learn to form your mistakes and it will not be in vain.” She says. “Thank you. Can you check all the profiles of my team? I’ve already checked but you don’t know any of them so you will be more objective than me. I want to be sure I don’t have a mole.”

“You don’t. I have already checked everyone. Alpha Markus had time to plan every small detail of his revenge. There is no mole he just took the time to learn all he has to succeed. You can trust your men, I’m totally sure of that as you can trust all your pack’s mates.”

“Thank you!” He says relieved.

“You are welcome.” She says with a true smile.

Jake leaves right after that.

“That was nice.” I tell her.

“We should talk in a more private place.”

I nod and start to walk in my office.

“I had to apologize to him. I don’t like to play with someone's guilt. His pain is enough.” She says after I closed the door.

“You did more than that. You’ve motivated him to do better and to trust himself. And you say there was no mole. Trust in the essential in a pack.”

“I know and he had to know he can trust his team.”

“But not his Luna.” I sigh.

“She is trustworthy she just has someone spying in her heard unwittingly. You know what he did to her.”

“Do you?”

“It was supposed to be our third missions in the Team-L. Even if at this time neither Alec or Alistair were working for the company. Someone wanted to pay us to free her. Eleonora ran away 4 days before we were supposed to release her.”

“Really! Who?”

“A friend. I can’t tell you yet. Maybe after Markus's death, I will. She did not know that either as her friend wanted to make sure Markus will not know. I understand now why she was so cautious.”

“How can you be ok with Nora being my Luna? Because if you’re not you are hiding it really well.” I ask her.

“We are not a perfect match, you and me. The moon goddess paired us together for other reasons. I love someone else. This love is so strong that I would have cheated on you with him if we had mated.”

“You look so sure.”

“Because I am. He is my perfect match. With you I would have been restrained, him he is my flame to set the world on fire. He lets me so out of breath all the time and you never did.” She closes her eyes and smiles.

She looks so honest. I don’t know what to think. If she is faking she is doing it really well.

“You still not believe me, do you? But I don’t care.” She tells me when I don’t say anything.

“You look honest but I will believe it when I see it myself.” I tell her.

She nods.

“Do you really think Markus planned his revenge for years?” I ask her.

“For sure. I think he didn’t challenge you before because he knew he will lose. He has another motivation now this is why he challenged only you now and to be sure to win, he had poisoned you.”

“A new Luna to mark?” I tell her

“It’s the most likely reason.” She confirms.

“What could be the other reasons?”

“He needs her to have a pup.” She says.

“That’s great! That’s fucking great! So either he wants to kill my Nora and to breed her. I don’t know what’s worst.” I say walking circles.

“I know you will not feel better but I think he set his eyes on a new Luna. He is too proud to want Eleonora back after she succeeds to escape him.”

“I really have to kill him now. What if I’m not strong enough? He can’t win but I still can’t contact my wolf. What I am going to do. I will not have fully recovered in 12 days.” I’m pacing as always do when I’m worried.

“Then we will find a solution.” She says trying to calm me.

“Why? I mean why are you helping me?” I ask not understanding her.

“I want to help people, I always did. No one should feel as helpless as I felt. I’m a mediator.”

“ Still I saw you killed rogues with no hesitation and even excitement.” I tell her.

“I said I am a mediator, not a peacemaker. I’m fighting for it’s right. I never give up on what I believe in and I succeed.”

“ You’re so sure of yourself. You’ve never failed?”

“Never, I can be really convincing.” She answers.

“Still, it can’t work every time.” I say doubting her.

“What can I say? If it’s not by my words, my weapons will persuade you.” She says with a knowing smile, as she knows something that I don’t.

“I’m sorry you felt helpless here. You shouldn’t have.” I tell her.

And I’m thinking about it. For us, werewolves, be part of a pack means to be love and protect. She should have known that too despite her missing wolf.

“I was not all the time and it makes travel around the world. I had to be opened mind and I’ve discovered so much that I don’t how you can keep like this. No meeting anyone, not be close to other werewolves at least.” She tells me.

“We don’t need other werewolves or anybody else. So why make an alliance and mix with them more than necessary?”

“It’s not about needing help or be more powerful than the other one. It’s about to be part of this world and to be involved in his evolution.” She tells me.

“So, you like meeting unknown persons and new creatures. Is that not dangerous? One of them could have killed you.”

“ Try to kill me means signing your own death warrant. I’m dying and my time is precious trying to take it will be the last thing you do. Besides I was never alone and I have a crazy life with incredible memories.” She says smiling.

I can’t help but smile myself thinking about the video of Alistair and her.

“Why are you smiling?” She asks, curious.

“Nothing. I was just thinking about a joke someone told me.”

“Okay...” She says not really believing me.

“I can’t say I trust you now but I don’t think de you have bad intentions. And you are doing a good job while I can’t so I’m okay with you being here.”

“Thank you, I think.” She answers.

“That doesn’t mean we are friends.” I warm her.

“You are too boring to be my friend.” She says getting up.

“You like to piss me off.” I tell her.

“More teasing you and why I shouldn’t when it’s so easy.”

“Out, I don’t want to see your face anymore.” I tell her shaking my head. I don’t know if I should be angry or laughing. She is the weirdest person I never see.
