Alpha's love

Chapter The feeling of betrayal

A tall lean woman came dashing out of the woods, her curly brown hair flying back from her face as she dashed towards Aria and the man who Aria presumed was Cain. A familiar body followed on her heels, and Aria realized with a sense of relief that it was Marcus. She ran towards Marcus who enveloped her immediately, staring past her at the couple with a worried look on his face.

"They attacked me Marcus, I thought I was actually going to die." She shuddered in his arms and instead of comforting her or soothing her he pushed to arms length and looked down at her with worried eyes.

"Aria you have to fix him, she told me this might happen that you might have to protect yourself against him. It was just a test I didn't think...The moon goddess told me to bring him....." He trailed off as Aria pulled away from his touch staring at him in disbelief. He took her disbelief as a sign that she was going to the man to help him apparently because he hurried over to the man, leaving her behind to stare at him. He had known!? He had known that she was being strangled, hell he was probably watching thats why she had heard the growl! Even Milean gave a soft whimper at this, their mate had betrayed them! He had let her get hurt by this man, and the pieces of wood in her back, blood on her head, and bruises on her throat along with a damaged windpipe were all proof of that. Even Milean acknowledged this and despite a wolf wanting their mate more than anything Milean faltered. A white hot anger filled her, bringing forth a wave of warm energy that had filled her when she had electrocuted the man named Cain. It was building, threatening to spill over the dam (her willpower) as she struggled to hold it back. Marcus was to emerged in Cain convulsing nearby him that he didn't notice Aria's pain, or struggle he only shouted at her to hurry and get the energy out of the man.

Aria realized with a jolt that he didn't even realize what he had done to her. He didn't realize that he was breaking her heart with what he had done. He had brought the man here and watched as he had hurt Aria and now he was yelling at her to help the man who had tried to kill her, he wasn't even worried about her either. The energy increased inside her building until she was shaking using all of her willpower to keep it from hurting Marcus. Despite the hurt he was causing her right now, that he had caused her she couldn't hurt him, even as the white energy began to grow more and she fell to her knees her mouth open in a silent scream. She could hear Marcus calling her name, could hear him realizing that she was in pain and hurrying to her side.

"Come on Aria, fight it, I need you to get the energy out of him. Please Aria, he's my father I can't lose him!"

Several things happened at once. Eve came barreling out of the woods dozing into Marcus screaming at him as tears streamed down her face sensing the hurt that he had caused Aria, their bond strong enough to feel the amount of pain that Aria was in. The energy from Cain was drawn out of him into Aria who was now laying on her back her body convulsing painfully as she foamed at the mouth, and she began to rise in the air.

She could only feel herself rising higher and higher and the moon goddess speaking to her in an urgent voice in her head, let it out aria put it into the sky. I pushed you to far I'm sorry I had to see what you could do, but don't be mad at Marcus I had to do this, I told him to do this. Her voice disappeared as Aria felt a burning sensation all over her body and this time the scream did come out of her open mouth. A contorted gurgling scream as the electricity was released from her body shooting out in all directions with a burning pain. The BOOMS of electricity could be heard from all around her as it shot off into the sky around her, a warm heat settling over her before she fell like a rock from the sky.

At first she didn't try and stop her fall, there was no point. Marcus didn't love her, that much was clear. He was willing to let her die for god knows what reason, he had let them hurt her and then when she was in pain he hadn't comforted her he had told her to help the man who had tried to kill her. He had shown no compassion to her, none at all just now, and he might as well have rejected her. The pain she had felt was the worst pain she had ever felt in her life, the pain of Marcus and the pain of the electricity shooting from her body. She couldn't handle it, she had been strong her whole life, but if this was the pain meant for her to lead her pack to victory she didn't think she could do it.

Milean was the one to convince her otherwise, even as she was falling life a ragdoll out of the sky, arms and legs spread wide as she tumbled head over heels Milean was there. Our pack. Think of our pack right now, forget HIM he's not worth our time even I realize what he has done to us. He didn't kill us but he almost did and I won't forgive him for that for a long time. But right now, our pack and every other pack in the U.S. needs us to lead them to victory, we cannot fail them because if we do Aria, thousands upon thousands of lives will be lost.

Aria heard the screams of wolves below her yelling her name and she heard Eve begging her through their mind link to live and wake up they don't know I'm awake, she realized. And she heard him howling for her, something that sent bolts of anger through her. He didn't deserve to howl for her, she spat out in her mind and Milean howled her agreement.

Using all of her will power left in her body, Aria managed to slow her fall, but she still crashed into the earth. She felt her body connect with warm fur and pain everywhere as she tumbled viciously across Marcus's yard before everything went black.

What do you guys think? Do your opinions of Marcus change, or do you wonder why he acted this way? You might be confused and curious\angry, that's why the next chapter is Marcus's perspective of what happened.
