Alpha's Cursed Luna

Chapter 17

ELUAH

I ran after my mate after she threw a little fit at the table. I sighed. I should've known this was going to happen. That is just how she is.

We were in the forest where I followed her to. It was not too far from the packhouse, and after some running I finally convinced Veronyka to stop.

Catching her in my arms, she struggled but I refused to let her go.

"Nyka, Stop!" She slapped my hand away and started punching my arm in annoyance. Her punches didn"t hurt. What hurt to me was seeing her desperately holding back her tears as she passed all her frustration onto me. I stood perfectly still as I held her hips in place, in an attempt to prevent her from running away again. I didn't bother stopping her or blocking her punches, and she continued throwing her anger at me until she slowed down, and stopped. She rested her forehead on my shoulder and started to sob

"I told you not...*sobs* to call me that *sobs*"

She groaned and I heard a droplet of tear drop to the solid ground. A frown crept to my face.

At that moment, I wanted to kiss every tear that slipped from her eyes, devour her mouth until she forgets about Alex.

I grew up with the two of them, and we've become best friends for life. Growing up, I'd noticed Veronyka eyes on Alex all the fucking time, until the day he became the Alpha, and I his beta. It was to be expected, of course, but sometimes I wished I could be the Alpha. If I was, would Veronyka look at me the same way she looks at Alexander?

Looking down at my mate, still sobbing and wasting her tears on my shoulder, I lifted my hand, caressing her back up and down. With my other hand, I patted the top of her head and I began drawing small circles on Veronyka's back. I felt her body relax at my touch, which is natural because I was her mate. Even though she doesn't know or feel the connection yet between us.

It was only after a few seconds when she abruptly pushed me away, like she always does.

"What are you doing?" She glared daggers at me and placed her hand on her hips, as if to scold me. I giggled inwardly at the sight. I could already imagine her do that while scolding our little pups. Suddenly, I felt something tug at my heart.

"What do you think?" I smirked at her.

"Why did you follow me? Are you stupid? Don't you know when people want to be left alone?" She huffed.

"Don't care. I have a duty to keep everyone safe. Knowing you, you won't even realize you're treading dangerous ground" I said a-matter-of-factly.

She scoffed and wiped her tears before forming an egoistic smile.

"What do you take me for? A weakling? Well let me say something to you, jerk!" She pointed a finger at me, making me throw my arms in the air pretending to submit to her. She took one step towards me. She stomped her foot hard, crushing the dried leaves beneath her.

"I don't need you to keep me safe. I am a grown woman and know full well how to take care of myself.” She gave me a threatening look.

I raised an eyebrow at her, amused.

I threw my head back. Snorting as I snickered at the size of the little girl who claims to possess tremendous power over herself.

Until she scowled. I stopped chuckling as I took in her death glare, hardly threatening.

“Oh, you can't be serious.” I said in disbelief.

"Why not?”

I averted my eyes from hers and looked at the pile of leaves beside her. Crossing my arm over the other, I shook my head.

“Technically, you're 17. Second, you can't pick a fight with another female even if you wanted to.” Veronyka bit her lip. She lifted her finger but I cut her off before she can even make a point.

"Why you—"

“Third, you're unmated. Do you have any idea what that means?” I queried.

I narrowed my eyes at her, testing her reaction

She stepped back, as if in an attempt to get away from me. It made my wolf North growl as a light of fury sparked within him.

"What?" She stared into my eyes in sheer horror. Seeing her petrified face caused my lips to bend upwards, forming a smirk. I met her gaze, then held it firmly.

“That means when you wander around the territory by yourself, rogues will come eat you and force their seed on you, over and over again until your body is paralyzed from exhaustion.”

Terror marked her face as soon as I finished my sentence. I leaned towards her direction, stalking her like a wild beast.

“Elijah!” She screamed, utterly horrified at my teasing.

Deciding I do not want to push her any further than I should, I leaned back where I stood. Chuckling as I watch her mortified face.

“I hate you!” She exclaimed. Landing her fists on my brawny arms that created neither a slight pain nor movement. I smirked. Willing to be her punching bag in the meantime considering her broken heart.

I sighed inwardly. My wolf growling at the mere thought of seeing our mate sulk over our alpha. “She'll get over it. North announced firmly.

“She has to.’

I nodded and paused. Watching Veronyka land several more blows to my chest before I finally caught her hands. She wanted another go, but I shook my head.

“That's enough teasing for the day. Let's go back.”

“No. You go back. I don't want to see that woman.” She said, gnashing her teeth.

She yanked her arms but I held her still.

"Stop this. You're being childish, Nyka.”

She whipped her head to stare at me as if I was the one who just did something wrong, or said something truly awful she refused to take.

She scoffed.

“I'm being childish, Elijah? I'm in pain! I loved Alex for eight years, now this!” She flung her arms to her sides. Agony sounding in her words.

"And I don't expect YOU to understand. You never loved anyone but you.” She spat harshly.

My jaw clenched. Taken aback and wounded. My wolf writhed in pain inside me while I did all I could to hide it. Hide how much she killed me with her words that penetrated me like daggers.

I chewed the walls inside my mouth, biting my tongue down forcefully to prevent North's words from escaping.

She can't know.

"What, cat got your tongue?” She taunted.

“Never speak to me that way again, Veronyka.”

This time, she stilled as a rock. Eyes-wide in surprise.

She stared at me, studying me for a long time. She gasped. I can feel her fear beginning to swallow her down into a deep abyss.

I tilted my head sideways, wondering if she had noticed my wolf's voice in mine.

"Elijah, what's wrong with you?” She backed up. Groping for the tree trunk right behind her until her back slammed against it abruptly. I felt the need to grab her by her arm and yank her against me, so she could not have the chance to get away from me again.

Suddenly, I felt fur starting to cover different places of my body. I'm beginning to shift and I couldn't stop him. Stop North. He wants to take her right here, right now.

He is a beast and I know he won't stop at anything just to dominate Veronyka and mount her like the animals we were.

I could feel my veins in an upsurge in my neck as I strained North, the beast inside me wanting to run riot in the forest. Hunt his mate and mark her as his. Take her body and mind with my member pounding her lower lips relentlessly while she moans and cries out in pleasure. I want to feel her small, beautiful body underneath me. Trail the curves on her skin with my fingers while I plant soft, small kisses on her smooth, glossy skin. My hands itched to touch and mark every inch of her skin with my scent. Make her feel me as she aches everywhere from our mating.

But that's merely what I wanted.

I glanced at Veronyka staring at me wide-eyed.

“Elijah, stop scaring me. Your eyes...”

What?

Almost immediately, I dashed to the lake nearby. Ducking my upper body to find out what color they were now.

Shimmering gold.

"Get back to the house, Veronyka. Don't look back. No matter what you hear, don't turn around.” “What? Why?"

I can hear the confusion in her tone.

"Just go! Now!” When I turned around, my clothes began to tear apart. Skin slowly then becomes fur. My legs extend, bones crack and hands transform into huge, heavy paws with piercing claws I used to tear down the tall, thick tree in front of my eyes.

Veronyka shrieked.

A few seconds later I stood in all fours.

“Elijah!” I noticed her body tremble violently while holding my penetrating gaze on her luscious body. Her lips quivered, about to speak when I let out a nasty, thunderous growl. She stood like a rock by that oak tree.

“I'LL BE FINE! JUST GO!" North forcibly blended his voice with mine. Gaining control over my body with his eyes pinning Veronyka hungrily.

In a blink of an eye, she disappeared from my sight.
