Alpha King’s Virgin Slave

Chapter 63

Lorena POV

When the alpha king took my side, I was so glad and was beaming with excitement inside of me. after we discussed his past, suddenly took a likeness to the other side of him. I couldn't judge him any longer because he had his reasons for acting in such manners. The reason why he turned out to be like that was not something that I can explain myself because Fenrir didn't tell me the whole story and I didn't bother listening.

“now that the king has interfered, we shall now begin this round?” Paul said and clapped his hands. A few guards made thei way into the hall holding books in their hands. As they made their way in, I wondered what the round was. If it was to test our intelligence then I wondered what the first contest was all about. I had no idea what he meant but I was ready for any question thrown at me.

“for this round,” Paul, the royal announcer cleared his throat and pointed to the chairs behind us. They were just bought in by the guards. The chairs had a table for all three of us and the thing was that the chairs were facing the alpha king and the lords.

Was this a question-and-answer round? I thought as I stared at the blank paper placed in front of us. If my assumptions wer right and it was a question-and-answer round, I wondered why it was needed by us.

Why did we need to answer the questions thrown at us?

“This round requires high thinking and not just answers alone. The alpha king and the lords will throw questions at you and you will be required to write in the blank sheet but you will be required to say it out yourself after a moment,” Paul announced but I found it hard to comprehend his questions. I had no idea what he meant by that so I decided to ask him.

“I have no idea what you meant when you said that we are supposed to answer the questions after writing them down.” Paul cleared his throat and placed one of his hands on his waist as if he was fed up with listening to me. “this is why I said that the question requires great thinking,” he answered and I scoffed wondering what he meant by that.

Was he trying to say that my questions were dumb for him to answer?

“listen concubine Lorena, * he said and I adjusted myself on the chair and anticipated what he had to say. “you all will be asked three questions which would be written inside your blank of paper and once that is done, you will be required to read it out by the alpha king once it gets to your turn. Remember that this is a contest done to test your ability and if you are not smart enough then you could fail it,” Paul grinned as he finished his words. He sounded scary like a psychopath who finds pleasure in torturing others.

“royal announcer Paul," Fenrir called for him and he turned to face him with his head lowered to the ground. “I believe you are scaring them and they don't have any idea of what you said."

“what?” Paul opened his mouth wide and then turned to face us. “your highness...” He said and then turned back to face us, “do you all not understand what I have said?” he asked and I nodded in response. The rest of the girls also nodded their heads and I was glad that all three of us could agree to something for the first time.

“I shall explain it then,” Fenrir stood up.

“your highness,” Paul's voice shook terribly as he fell to his knees. “there is no need for you to expl ain it because I got this! Fenrir nodded his head as he walked past him. “what the royal announcer is trying to explain is that," he stood in front of m, and pointed to the paper. “you are allowed to write out your thoughts before saying it out,” Fenrir explained and it was better because I could understand him perfectly than Paul. “do you all understand what I have just said?” he asked.

“yes, your highness,” we all replied with pretty smiles on our faces.

“great,” Fenrir smiled at us and walked back to his chair. "you may go ahead Paul,” he ordered him as he sat down.

Paul hurriedly stood up from the ground like a scared cat. He bowed to Fenrir before turning to face us. “we shall now begin the questioning” he said and I noticed the calmness in his tone. “we shall start with lord Alistair who is required to ask questions from the concubines.”

“oh,” Alistair smiled as he stood up and faced us. “As a noble consort if you are required to take your life to save your country, will you, do it?” he asked and sat down without saying anything else.

That was such a tricky question and I wondered why he would ask such a question like that. Why would he require a noble consort to die for the country when she was a substitute for the queen and her position doesn't require her dying for her country except, she was a sacrificial lamb for the others? That would only be the reason why a noble consort would do such a thing.

“you may answer the question now on your paper,” Paul said. I picked up the pen laying beside the paper and started writin as if my life depended on it. The question was difficult to answer but just as Paul had said from the beginning, the questions would require deep thinking because if you don't reason enough, you could give a wrong answer and that would ruin things for you.

“you have three more minutes until the end of the questioning,” Paul announced and walked to a corner of the room for a moment. My hand moved on the paper as I poured out my mind and how I wanted the question to be answered. Three minutes ended and Paul announced the end to answer the first question. By then, I was already done.

“lord Jared is given the honor to ask the next question,” Paul announced and lord Jared stood up and cleared his throat. I could feel his glares at me. he stared at me as if I was his prey and I couldn't avert my eyes because he was starting to look creepy.

“the next question is about choosing loyalty. As you all are humans, would you sacrifice the werewolves for the humans? Would you betray the werewolves to free your people? Would you try to kill the king when you have the chance?” lord Jared smirked at me as he finished asking the question.

Angelica had told him about everything that I told her. It was no wonder she said that I never became a noble consort. “you nay began,” Paul said and the other girls started writing but I couldn't do anything yet. The answer to my next question would determine whether I would be able to continue as a candidate or lose because of the question asked. I heaved a dee; sigh as I picked the pen from the table. My hand shakes terribly as I began to write.

Atfirst, I had no idea what I was writing but I soon realize it as the answers appeared in my head. I smiled when I tackled lord Jared to his question. Saving the werewolves for the humans was a crazy thing for me to do as a human and also, saving the humans for the werewolves was a sign of disloyalty which made me arrive at my answer.

Once the three minutes were up, I smiled as I dropped my pen and looked up at lord Jared staring at me. he probably thought that I had given in to his foolishness but he had no idea that I had beaten him to his question.

“Finally,” Paul stretched his neck and cleared his throat. “the last person that would ask the question is the Alpha king himself. Your Highness, it's your turn.”

Fenrir nodded in response and stood up from his chair. He placed a hand on his forehead and smiled. “here is my question to you all. What do you think about the war between the werewolves and the humans? How do you think that it should be resolved? * Fenrir walked towards us and stood in front of us. He leaned closer to me and placed his hand on my forehead. “tell me what you will do as my noble consort?”

Ivisibly gulped and wondered why he had asked such a question. Was he aiming at? I wondered why Fenrir asked the same question as lord Jared. it was slightly different but it was still the same question.
