I can hear the distant sounds of gun shots and the image of how Chase shot me back in the club flashed through my mind and I was left wondering why I would want to risk anything for this man here that has not only shot me but has been embarrassing me at every single opportunity he gets. Silly of me to think he likes me and foolish of me to ever think he'll love me.

Chase parked his car some blocks away from the scene although I can clearly see the combat between the police and Chase’ men. I saw Anif hiding behind a car as he shields himself from the bullets coming from the police while shooting.

“F**K I yell as Anif’s bullet hits a police man and he fell on his kneels instantly.

Chase stood beside me watching and observing the scene with a big smile on his face.

“That's my man” Chase says as the police man lifeless body was lying on the floor, it was at this moment i realized that a lot of people had actually been killed but most were the police force.

There was a scream from the scene and it was Anif’s voice, the smile on Chase's face fell as he screams Anif name.

“Stay here" he says as he brought out a gun from the trunk of his car and ran towards the shooting scene.

This is my cue now, there's a car right here. I got into the car and started the engines and drove away. I could see Chase coming with Anif injured body.

“Janet” Chase screams and I realized what I have just done. I didn't want to leave Chase behind despite of his annoying behavior towards me takkless of the fact that he shot and kidnapped me.

Tears ran down my cheeks as I took a turn and drove towards Chase, the voice in my head was telling me not to but at this moment my body wants to put me on a death mission because if the bullets doesn't kill me Chase will.

Iignored the voices in my head as I went to Chase carrying Anif's body in his hands.

I stopped the car and Chase hurriedly put Anif in the back seat and sat in the front seat

“Hurry up” he says as I drove the car on the highest speed I have ever driven a car.

“He... he's dead” I say. Chase didn't reply me and it was then I knew he had been shot in his arm. His eyes were bloodshot and his jaws clenched, he folded his fist as I could see the pain in his eyes. He's holding his tears back

He isn't a beast, I know he has a reason for this.

“Don't go to the Mansion take a left turn, we're going to somewhere else” he says after a long silence and every thought in my mind was that I'm going to die.

We finally got to where he directed me and he came down from the car, everywhere was dark already and the only light was from the moon.

Chase carried Anifs' body from the car and placed him on the cold ground. He went back to the car's trunk brought out some bottles of liquor and a lighter.

“You're bleeding” I say as I noticed the amount of blood that was gushing out of his wound. He ignored me and opened a bottle of liquor, I watched him as he drunk a full bottle of liquor in seconds.

Fe*k he's hurting himself. He opened another bottle as he continued to drink his pains away. He went back to the trunk of the car and brought out a plain clothe, he covered Anif face with the clothe and poured the liquor all over Anifs’ body he took a step backwards as he lit his lighter and dropped it on Anifs' lifeless body. At this point tears ran down my cheek and they didn't stop.

“I....I am so sorry Chase” I say as I sniffed my nose.

“Why?” He asks and this is the first real word he is saying to me since we left the scene.

“Why did you do it Janel” He yells and my heart started to race, I burst out in tears and my sobs became louder.

“Im sorry” I say and meant it.

“You should die too Jane” he says as he c***s his gun and pointed to my head.

“Anif was my only family, my best friend, my brother, he has been there with me all through everything" He says and for the first time ever tears ran down his cheeks and my heart shattered.

“I owe him my life Jane and if you hadn't been a fool he won't be dead” he says still pointing the gun to my head.

“I'told you to stay in the house, I've been so nice to you, I didn't want to sell you and you chose to betray me? You should have left when you had the chance to but now you're dying” he says

“I'm sorry Chase” I say while crying

“It has been rough for me too but do you think to consider that?, You took me away from my dreams and my father, I don't even know if he's still alive or dead I was all he had left but you took me away from him all I wanted was just to be free and you took that chance from me " I say and fell on my knees.

“Damn it” he says as he throws the gun to the tree. He walked away from me and went to the river. He sat down at the bank of the river looking straight at the moon.

I summoned all of the courage left inside of me and went to where he was. He noticed my presence immediately.

“Don't come any closer” he warns but I ignored.

“I said leave me the f**k alone!” He yells.

“I don't want to” I say as I sat beside him and rested my head on his shoulder. I expected him to react I a negative way but h remained still

“Let's go inside" he says after some minutes of awkward silence between us. And for a moment I thought he was talking about the river but he held my hands and his hands felt so hard but soft, cold but warm. We walked past Anifs' burning remains and went into a bush. Then I saw what he actually meant. It was a small house that was made of wood and glass an it was built on the top of the hill. A perfect view,
