Chapter After I 6
Chapter 61
After Nicolas arrived at the hospital, Lisbeth continued to make a scene.
One moment, she complained about the pain from her wound; the next, she refused to take her medication. Nicolas handed her the small cake.
“Liz, sweetheart, have a bite of this cake. It’ll make you feel better.”
I glared at Nicolas’s back, waving my hands in frustration.
That cake was mine! Mine alone!
But they couldn’t see or hear me.
Lisbeth eagerly opened the box, her face lighting up with delight..
how
“Nicky, I can’t believe you remembered any much I love green grape cake. It was my favorite when I was a child?”
Her words froze my ontstretchell arm.
The reason I loved this cake was that it was the first birthday gift Nicolas gave me after we started dating.
At the time. I had asked him, “Most girls like strawberry or chocolate. Why green grape flavor?”
Nicolas had looked momentarily stunned, then gently pinched my nose.
“Aren’t you always saying you want to lose weight? This one isn’t as sweet, and green grapes have fewer calories. Enjoy
I had praised him for his thoughtfulness because it meant so much to me. Whenever I felt down, I would buy a green grape cake from the bakery.
But I never imagined that Nicolas had chosen it because Lisbeth liked it.
It was laughable to realize that something I cherished for him was actually tied to Lisbeth.
I stared at Nicolas’s back. smiling through my tears.
Meanwhile, Lisbeth devoured the entire cake with the delight of a child lost in a jar of honey.
That night, Nicolas stayed at the hospital again.
Unlike the calm of the previous evening, he lay on the sofa, typing and retyping messages on my Wethat.
“Liz’s injuries are a bit serious. I need to stay at the hospital with her tonight.”
“Ella. I have already decided that you are my future wife. Nothing will change that, so stop being upset with me, okay?”
He sent mumerous messages without receiving a single reply. Frustrated, he finally opened his contacts to call me directly.
At that moment, Lisbeth turned her head and asked him cautiously, like a child who had done something wrong.
“Nicky. Is Eleanor still mad at me and refusing to come to the hospital.”
Nicolas hesitated, then put away his plone without a second thought.
“Let her be. If she doesn’t come, it’s better–she’d just cause more trouble.”
Honestly, if I were still alive, I might actually go. Not for a thing else, but to slap Nicolas and sever ties with him cleanl
It would be better than watching him and Lisbeth’s tender affection. What a bummer I had become!
