After I Let Go My Alpha He Knelt in Regret

Chapter In Regret Novel 121

Chapter 105

As Gregor's name echoed through the quiet of the parking lot, my heart raced with shock. "Gregor?" I repeated, incredulously. The man in front of me, with his disheveled suit and anxious demeanor, looked up in surprise.

Gregor's eyes widened as he took in my appearance. "Cheryl, my God," he exclaimed. "You've completely changed. You're so beautiful now, like a star. I didn't recognize you at all."

The compliment was bittersweet. Gregor's appearance was a far cry from how I remembered him-back then, he had worn high-end suits and carried an air of confidence. Now, his suit was umpled, his face lined with stress. I felt a pang of nostalgia mixed with concern. "It's been a long time," I said softly.

Lorik, who had been watching the exchange with a puzzled look, turned to me. "You know each other?" he asked, his tone a mix of curiosity and suspicion.

I nodded, though I hesitated before speaking. "Gregor used to be with Sparco Racing Team," I

explained. "I used to be an avid fan of the team myself."

Before Gregor could elaborate further, I interrupted him. "I mean, I used to follow the team closely,"

I added hastily, trying to downplay my past as a racer. I wasn't ready to reveal that part of my life to Lorik just yet.

Gregor glanced at me with a touch of confusion, but Lorik's frown deepened. "Cheryl?" he echoed.

"That's an alias I use when I'm chasing stars," I said, trying to steer the conversation away from my racing history. It was a flimsy explanation, but it seemed to satisfy Lorik for the moment.

I took Gregor aside, eager to have a private conversation. "Let's talk," I said, leading him away from

Lorik.

Once we were out of earshot, Gregor's face turned serious. "After you retired, things went downhill fast for us," he began. "A club called Flash Lighter Racing emerged out of nowhere. They're financially powerful and have poached our drivers and staff. They've even used questionable methods to gather intel on tracks and competitors. Sparco Racing Team is now on the brink of bankruptcy."

My heart sank at his words. I had noticed that the team wasn't as glamorous as it once was, but I hadn't realized how dire the situation had become. "Is there anything I can do to help?" I asked, my voice filled with concern.

Gregor shook his head, his face grim. "If Lorik pulls out, it's game over for us. Bankruptcy would be Inevitable."

I remembered the past vividly-my time working in a game hall where Gregor had first seen me. Back then, he had been bored and selected me to play a racing game. Despite being a novice, I had beaten him and showcased my racing talent. It was that moment that had led to my introduction to the world of racing. If Gregor hadn't noticed me, I might never have become a racer at all.

Sparco Racing Team, the place that marked the true beginning of my life, I could never watch it go

so broke.

In fact, I've been thinking about this ever since the last street race.

Why can't I be more of a "Shirley the Racer"?

Determined to make a difference, I made up my mind. "I'm going to return as a Sparco Racing Team

driver," I declared.

Gregor's eyes lit up with astonishment and joy. "Really? That's incredible!" he exclaimed. "The return of legendary racer Cheryl will breathe new life into the team. We might even attract new endorsements, which could make a big difference if Lorik insists on pulling out." His excitement was palpable. He looked like a man who had been given a lifeline. He shook my

hand vigorously, his face beaming with gratitude. "Thank you, Cheryl. This could turn everything

around for us."

We quickly made plans to start training the next day. Gregor's enthusiasm was infectious, and I found myself looking forward to returning to the track.

The next morning, I arrived at the training venue. The place was familiar, filled with memories of my racing days. Gregor was there to greet me, a broad smile on his face. "Welcome back," he said warmly. "Let me show you around."

As we walked through the facility, I noticed a few team members sitting on the sidelines. Their

widened in surprise when they saw me. One of them, a tall man with a scowl on his face, approached us with a hint of hostility.

"What is she doing here?" He asked Gregor, his tone sceptical.

"There are very few riders willing to come to our team, but we shouldn't let someone like that in.

Good looking women like her are just there to show off. Why bring someone like that into the team?" After I Let Go My Alpha, He Knelt in Regret
